Very bold decision to key change without asking first, incredible
Once again, the age old aphorism has been justifiably invoked in the pursuit of the greater art:
Tis better to beg for forgiveness than to seek permission.
Hahaha
@@idreamofpiggies the joke went over your head
New Guru got us all wanting permission first 🤣
Theo has always been the McCartney of Vulf.
100%
This is a great take
His solo stuff has a lot of McCarney hooks too. The bridge of ‘Lily of Casablanca’ stands out especially.
ruclips.net/video/Wo0chyPEphU/видео.html
The McCartney influence is huge
Which, while I'm not a huge McCartney fan, I think is a great dynamic in the group's song writing pool
Some hints of "Lonely Town", Theo is consistently great on the ones he composes!
I'd say quite a lot of hints; still a banger though!
Nothing wrong with more Lonely Town.
It’s extremely lonely town
One might call it a sequel
It’s got the min2+7-> Maj5b7 transitions in it which is pretty frequent in lonely town (Amin-Dmaj) big fan :)
My favorite part about Vulfpeck is that all of members are song writers. Everyone contributes in their own way and most of them play multiple instruments. You just can tell that they operate on a higher level than most. Much love guys. Your music is smile meditation.
Except blow shart
@@couch3studios269you gotta be the worlds only Joe dart hater
@@cluelessdenizen2258 no no you’re mistaken, I said blow shart
@@couch3studios269 I’ve been giggling about this for 20 minutes
This whole album its about KEY CHANGES , and i absolutely love it
Key changes have disappeared in the pop music space in the last few decades and Vulf is bringing them BACK!
Except in New Guru, that key change was a huge mistake and we don't like to talk about it
@@Ashanmaril idk man there was a reason that take made the final cut
@@joshopoke Antwaun had to ask them to bring it back down, don't know what to tell you! 🤷♂️
It takes a *big* man to acknowledge the use of the Transpose key!
Woody’s piano playing really tied the song together.
Best Vulfpeck song in at least a week. Seriously, it's like early Christmas right now.
the beatles white album vibes are so strong I love it so much
get a very sexy sadie vibe from this one
Beatles meets Big Star
Sexy Sadie by The Beatles!!
Spot on. Just like Lonely Town, Theo clearly has listened to the Beatles his entire life. He can’t escape writing songs that sound like McCartney
Vulfpeck is easily the best band of our times.
That 'Karma Police' quote dosen’t left unnoticed, so smooth !
noticed it as well! Couldn't quite place my name on the tune until halfway through the song though
Sounded a bit more like Sexy Sadie to me!
@@owenhu9465I second that!
It's a Sexy Sadie quote, which Radiohead repurposed into Karma Police.
THATS WHAT IT WAS!
I love
the half-step intervals, including the ones that remind me of "Lonely Town".
Jack thigh-hat.
Joey organ licks at first chorus.
Jack fill at 2:00: tap tap tappy tappy tap...tap
Randy Newman vibes.
Joe's understated playing.
Mmmm Jack thigh-hat
Immediately heard that lonely town chord progression in there too!
Lonely Town came into my mind instantly :)
Don't forget Woody's back.
Citation of Steely Dans Pearl of The Quarter like in Lonely Town
Fun fact: if you say ‘BeatleVulf’ three times, this song magically appears.
It’s definitely influenced by The Beatles. Nothing wrong with that. 😊
@@CastleKnight7 I think it was a reference to "BeatleJuice" by Tim Burton, with Michael Keaton as BeatleJuice! A stellar performance by Keaton! Worth a watch! 😊
I'm pretty sure it's Lonely Town
some of the chord changes remind me of all you need is love
schön
Vulfpeck slow boil album release time is the best time of year
So nice. Best song McCartney never got around to doing.
I am so happy and thankful that there will be "era 2". I really feared to never see them live like I never saw Prince, living in Europe and really discovering them just after their last Europe tour. I am hyped, thank you Vulfpeck.
i love the little lonely town leitmotifs thrown in there. golly what a treat
Lyrics:
I'm just a piece of fruit
Left in the mid-day sun
That all the insects eat
When all the juices run
And they don't waste a thing
They put it all to use
And once the queen is fed
All that's left of me is you
All that's left of me is you (x4)
I'm just a friendly ghost
In an abandoned room
Above an old garage
Vacant since '92
And when you shine the light
Baby, it shines right through me
There's nothing here to see
All that's left of me is you
All that's left of me is you (x4)
* key change *
All that's left of me is you (x4)
“Piece of fruit”
“Vacant since ‘92” (though I like baking that’s actually a dope lyric!! Cheers y’all !!!
woody goss made my soul complete with those subtly sweet piano licks
Very much a Theo song. Such a remarkable handwriting, lovely tune
Jack really makes it seem like it's the first time he's touched a drumkit, while absolutely killing it 🔥
Beatles inspired elements that jump out at me:
1) Wurly tone: Strawberry Fields
2) main verse structure: Ob La Di Ob La Da
3) Prechorus: (And they don’t waste a thing, plus the piano lick preceding it) Hey Jude
4) Chorus lick: Sexy Sadie (which Radiohead also quoted in karma police)
You could make the case the chorus is also a reference to All you need is love, but that’s debatable.
That Wurlitzer is frikkin wurling like a dervish.
Your breakdown is supportable. I’m not a huge Beatles expert by any means, but it sounds about right.
Each day I anxiously check to make sure I ordered this album. Every track so far has been an absolute heat rock.
same here, love New Guru so much
@@goldengamer9New Guru one of the best Vulf songs EVER 🙌
@@laylover7621 Truly an instant classic
As soon as I see Theo with a mic, I know its gonna be good
Vulfpeck in a sauna just in time for Christmas. The gift that keeps on giving...
God they're amazing aren't they
This album is already top tier. Masterpiece after masterpiece. Damn I love you guys. CANT WAIT to hear that Schvitz rendition of the old classic Simple Step.
What do you mean old classic? Isn't it a new one?

The song hasn’t been released yet but I can already tell this is gonna be an absolute banger
Edit: I can now confirm that this is an absolute banger
I already love the base line

four bangers in a row, this might be the new best vulf album
This record is turning out to be an absolute Vulf renaissance. Shaping up to be one of, if not, the best!
I am delighted to await a splentuous new arrival in my vulfpeck collection.
Not only is this a masterpiece, it's also written in F#!
Thursdays are already my favourite day of the week
im listening here in buenos aires, argentina, great band vulf y que siga la buena musica!!!
Another heartbreak hit from Thew Katzman.
Great song. I'm picking up some 'Sexy Sadie' influence (Beatles White Album) on the keyboards. And maybe a bit of slowed down obla id obla da on the bass. After looking at some of the comments so far it seems like this song is kind of a jigsaw puzzle of vibes and influences designed to tug at our memories. Love it!
The vocal melody is very White Album too. Love it.
Completely ripped off the Sexy Sadie piano line at 2:04.
Jack's robes are dangerously close to showing off his Vulfmon! XD Great song, as usual.
Definitely feels beatleish, I'm there for it.
This album is shaping up great!
I saw these guys live at Levitate Music Festival summer 2022. They came out wearing these matching outfits and I didn't understand until I saw this video. It makes way more sense when you see them in a spa.
Ooooft this feels so trippy beatles !
Hey! No love for Woody? Stuck over in the corner, like he’s in timeout 😅! His bass lines, woven with Joe’s, burning baby!
This song title (could not be any more Theo)
Not just the title, but the track itself! Theo’s the only listed composer for this one!
what did you mean by love is on the track list too
@mikedavis8008doesnt matter, look what we got because the Beatles existed.
Another banger Vulfpeck song
I like to think that they've been in there since they released Sauna and whenever they finish a new song they just upload it and carry on writing new ones
So far really into the new stuff btw, great job guys!
Joe playing cheery Macca style major third bass parts made me grin from ear to ear. What a tune.
Getting a big Beatles vibe off this one!
This sounds like a sequel to Lonely Town. Similar bassline, with some chord progressions lifted in a sort of musical reference.
Vulfpeck saved my life!
Listening to VULFPECK is like hearing a sunrise!
Loving all these new tunes and the Sauna/Studio.
Is anyone going to acknowledge the fact that Theo is playing the keys for the first time with Vulf....
he played keys during their msg show
Vulfpeck has become a fusion between the Beatles and Parliament-Funkadelic. And that's f*cking GREAT
Dude you just hit the nail on the head and THATS f*cking GREAT
got the tears, got the goosebumps, got the eargasm. just thank you.
Thank you for blessing my ears
My god this new album has gotta be my new favourite
Love you guys, thanks for your music
absolutely looooovely. Thank you Theo!
I can hear so many motifs in this song that harken back to their song 'Lonely Town', it's like a sequel except now someone in particular makes him feel like it
I love vulfpeck!!
I'm loving all the new singles. This is great
Legend has it the whole band were relaxing in a sauna together and had a jam session with air instruments. That's when they discovered the great acoustics of the sauna and decided to record a whole album inside it.
THIS IS LONELY TOWN with new lyrics
I think the man in the lonely Town found someone to love 😍
Oh, I love this so much!
I don’t care that I just clocked into work, my ass is sitting down and listening
Ayy, fellow Vulf fan who's getting paid to listen to Vulf.
i love this band so much
Good to hear Theo again!
Let's doff our (red) hats to Woody and his book: Skuas and Jaegers: A Guide to the Skuas and Jaegers of the World. Only for the serious collector.
Totally Beatles vibe... Its AWESOME!!
The best collective/purr music grouo out there. Love you dudes.
Great Job Guys! Love it Theo ❤
I'm 2 hours into a 5 hour meeting - I needed this pretty badly. Thanks again, Vulf

IM SO EXCITED
I’m so exited for the full album release!! And for a joe dart solo!
The chorus is very reminiscent of the turnaround in Karma Police. Nice song!
It's a mixture of Karma Police and Imagine by John Lennon! Nevertheless a great tune and catchy too!
Fun fact: Karma Police actually takes that lick and chord change from Sexy Sadie, a Beatles track on the White Album.
@@russgilbert yeah exactly its all creative licence with the chords and an original melody on top, the best kind of creative adaptation!
Great as always!!! Never disappoint👌😎
You stole my profile pic
This is gonna be in my head for WEEKS.
What an absolute banger!
theo on the beatles chorus with karma police piano
Was thinking that too!
great ... love the beatle vibe.. vocal is very very good. g
It seems the Beatles influence aren’t unnoticed here in the comments, I definitely heard a chord change/riff in the chorus that sounds straight from Sexy Sadie. I’m really diggin this album so far!! It may be my favorite vulf project to date. Although I think I say that every time lol
Love this song!
Very beatlesque, part of chorus chord progression reminds me of Sexy Sadie. I like it! 👍
holy cow, great song!
I came for the bop I stayed for the feels
Woooooow, love it so much. repeat, repeat, reapet :-) Thanks for this Great Song!
THIS SLAPS SO HARD I LOVE YOU GUYS SOSOSOSOSMUCH
The weeks go by fast when you have Vulf to look forward to.
My favourite song untill now for this album
Unfortunatelly I´m able to totally understand what this song is about. Cheers folks, I´m also an idiot. As usual. Brilliant, brilliant song. Many thx and warm regards
I'm sure that B-C#-F#-F progression in the chorus was an intentional nod to Sexy Sadie, but whether it is or not, this song is still awesome.
yes
100% Theo. Love it!
i signed in to tell you boys, i love you. modern day miracles, and have always been. shine boys, shine.
Woody is killing it!!!
“The action on Joe Darts neck” means different things when said by fans vs. his chiropractor
Glad to see the Fab Six back in the studio together again!
Nice to see Theo being put under the spotlight like this 👍
Phew, thanks below for the reference to Karma Police which itself references Sexy Sadie. I knew it was something from the White Album but couldn't place it. Cracking song this. God it's good when bands don't stick to 3 freakin chords.
So good. ❤
