Non-guitarists and guitarists who've never played Ramones songs don't realize how difficult Johnny's style was. Especially to be able to pull it off on stage and at the high speed they played at live. The best band ever. The most real band ever.
As a 43 year guitar player I agree. It's also true he couldn't do anything else although I don't mean that I a bad way. I'm happier playing several styles of music but I wouldn't be ashamed to be Johnny Ramone, I totally love the Ramones.
@@TeleCaster66 Yeah, I heard or read (can't remember) an interview with Johnny where he said he doesn't sit around the house and practice. He doesn't know other people's songs. He knows Ramones song and does them in the studio and on stage, and that's it. I've been playing about 48 years, and personally I like the one style thing. I'm trying to become more basic and good at it. Based on your screen name, I assume you're a Tele fan. That's one thing we definitely agree on!
It's such a shame Joey died at age 49 and not long after the retirement of the Ramones. Joey wanted to pursue his own career and interest but unfortunately he was cut short of doing so. I'm saddened he wasn't around to know of the Ramones induction into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. At the time of Joey's death he was worth $6 to $10 million. RIP Joey Ramone.
So much stuff keeps popping up that I feel they are still with us, I keep expecting the next tour announcement :( CJ is enjoying the fuck out of this :)
The interview is May 1992 as they played in Lyon France 1992-05-04. Mondo Bizarro was released 1992-09-01. But the footage is from the Lyon show in 1990. The setlist of the audiotape of the 1992 show does not contain 53 & 3rd and wasn't played in 1992.
I remember going to both the Paris and Mulhouse shows in 1992. There was a TV crew in Mulhouse and I remember being interviewed by them. Whether they recorded the show there I can't now remember.
Looking at the show, it is clear that 53rd and 3rd was shot at a different venue, the stage set up and lights under the drums look different. Also CJ had shorter hair on that song!
RAMONES..Top Master Ones !! Yess..The GREATEST Band ever been 4 longer !! in the OLIMPO of GLORY !! BRAVO OLE !! ..thanks 4this doc full quality register..wonder 2know about this Concert..full show..is it possible?? Muchas gracias hasta la vista!! Congratulations m8!! Love it !! Adios.
la versión de Pyschoterapy en este concierto es la mejor versión en vivo que se haya grabado de Los Ramones.Este concierto si no me equivoco es en Lyon,Francia en 1992.
19:51 Ten years after Marky's statement Joey and Dee Dee were dead. By the 15 year mark, Johnny died too. At least Tommy made it to the 20 year mark before he died.
Rock, a dying dinosaur.. guess that Johnny was right, in 1992 when rock was still relevant. But john saw it coming. Reggaeton or urban music the new "rock" 4/4 rythm. Glad to grew as a teenager in the early 90s and not now. Dark years for me but.. well life is kind of dark thats why music was created, some expression or escape from the human condition, a sort of truce
Joey used to swear more times on stage, especially to people spitting or throwing shit at them.. He even smashed someone's face with is micstand in Newcastle..
What do you mean? Ramones ended up having that hardcore punk sound cause of Richie Ramone joined the band not Marky. Marky tried to keep up with Richie speed but did it horrible in my opinion while Richie fast “hardcore” sound was still technical and tight/clean. Marky style simply didn’t suit the later Ramones years.
It wasn’t marky, in reality it was the drummers in Ramones that follow Johnny and Dee Dee/CJ tempo and the drummer have to keep up with them other than the other way around. And it is true it was Johnny who set the speed and tempo and who wanted to get faster each year

The cleanest live audio I have ever heard from the Ramones!
yeah, the drums sound hella loud
Yeah. But the bass is a little missing in the mix.
Can't get enough of these types of footage.

Johnny's our anti guitar hero.
Joeys our geek turned rockstar hero.
Dee Dee's our song hero.
Tommy's our creative vision hero.
Kinda sappy but true I think.
grande RAMONES
This is great !!!!
Is Joey sitting on the can during his interviews?

@@bramjanssens9996 wow really???
They ended being a hardcore punk band; becauses Marky's change of beating.

No. Marc always says that this was a Jhonny's idea. To go faster and faster.
