Right! As long as there's love from both sides and the child is happy, then it's all good- who cares if the parents aren't together. A two parent household doesn't equal happiness, kids can be happy in a single parent household, the most important thing is that they're in a stable environment and taken care of. Hell, kids with married parents can be miserable, the parents might fight all the time which makes the kids unhappy.
My mom was indoctrinated with the shameful divorce stigma. Now and then I still thank her for getting a divorce. It was a bad marriage and a horrible "example of love" to me as a child. She still then responds with: "Do you really think it was for the best?" And I always say: "Oh, yes. It saved me and it saved us."

I don't think baby moms have been normalised. I believe most women would be married if they had the choice, despite the risks involved. Men not wanting to get married is the reason for so many baby moms.
To that point is what Adrienne is saying - which is that in running from divorce you still live like a divorced person when sharing the custody of your child (I hope no one takes this interpretation out of context) ... a child is a commitment and the issue with normalizing such behavior is similar to normalizing having children selfishly without thinking through the proven shortfalls of having to grow up in 2 households. Not discarding that things do go wrong and divorce is sometimes the best option but we NEED to actively seek out the right partner and unfortunately before normalizing baby mommas we normalized being horrible partners and selfishness - chain reactions
Being single and child-free might make you lonely sometimes, but it is far better than being stressed out being in a marriage and rearing children with someone who could end up putting you through a bunch of drama and loss of money. Those are years of your life that you can't get back and can impact your long-term future. It is better to have a couple of very solid friendships than to put everything into a marriage or even a co-parenting or "living together" situation. There is enough stress in just day-to-day life with trying to keep your own health and finances straight, why add more potential BS?
The important thing is stability. Two people in a solid relationship in the same household makes that easier. But, a bad marriage is definitely worse than a single parent.

I’m a private person. FaceTime-ing me without prior notice does not work for me. From my perspective, only hearing my voice is better for the caller than also catching me in a time and space where what I’m really feeling can be seen in my expressions.

I think weddings are too expensive... and it scares people away. Many people I know never thought a wedding would ever be within their reach... so they don't even think about it. I haven’t seen a good nuclear family situation in my personal life. The woman is usually pulling the heavier load in rearing the children in addition to working. I lowkey feel like good/healthy co-parenting parents have more general happiness. Their child is being taken care of financial and otherwise and the personal freedom/time is more than that of married couple. You get to pursue your passions without worrying because the other parent is with the kids.

Yes Jeanie! My sons father and I were married at 18 and I gave birth when I was 19 almost 20. We started the discussion about what happens if we don’t work the moment I became pregnant! We both came to an agreement before he was born, AND THANK GOD because two years ago we consciously uncoupled and that decision was already talked about and decided! PRAISE GOD!
I am with Adrienne and Garcelle. The airfryer is no success for me. To be honest it doesn't work for large portions. It is so overrated. It is exactly like an oven but a smaller size except oven cooks everything on both sides while for an airfryer, it only has the heating part on one side which is why unless you flip the meat, you will not have both sides cook. It's just unnecessary and no extra space in my kitchen to keep. I'll stick to the oven. However, if you pay for electricity, then airfryer can be more affordable for you as it is a small space, it will heat up faster than an oven.

I’ve grown up in a married household and it makes me 1000x more hesitant to get married and start a family. Didn’t grow up in the worst circumstances by far but poor marriages definitely have an affect on the children.. Just staying together isn’t the answer.. Needs to be a good marriage..

Right! As long as there's love from both sides and the child is happy, then it's all good- who cares if the parents aren't together. A two parent household doesn't equal happiness, kids can be happy in a single parent household, the most important thing is that they're in a stable environment and taken care of. Hell, kids with married parents can be miserable, the parents might fight all the time which makes the kids unhappy.
My mom was indoctrinated with the shameful divorce stigma. Now and then I still thank her for getting a divorce. It was a bad marriage and a horrible "example of love" to me as a child. She still then responds with: "Do you really think it was for the best?" And I always say: "Oh, yes. It saved me and it saved us."

When done correctly (marriage), it can be a beautiful thing and a very good environment where children can thrive. I completely agree with Garcelle here that just bcus people around us are having kids continuosly before marriage or by multiple people;doesnt necessarily mean it is right or appropriate. And i like that shes setting the standard and expectation to her children so they know whats the correct way to go about it. To that point is what Adrienne is saying - which is that in running from divorce you still live like a divorced person when sharing the custody of your child (I hope no one takes this interpretation out of context) ... a child is a commitment and the issue with normalizing such behavior is similar to normalizing having children selfishly without thinking through the proven shortfalls of having to grow up in 2 households. Not discarding that things do go wrong and divorce is sometimes the best option but we NEED to actively seek out the right partner and unfortunately before normalizing baby mommas we normalized being horrible partners and selfishness - chain reactions
Being single and child-free might make you lonely sometimes, but it is far better than being stressed out being in a marriage and rearing children with someone who could end up putting you through a bunch of drama and loss of money. Those are years of your life that you can't get back and can impact your long-term future. It is better to have a couple of very solid friendships than to put everything into a marriage or even a co-parenting or "living together" situation. There is enough stress in just day-to-day life with trying to keep your own health and finances straight, why add more potential BS?

I think weddings are too expensive... and it scares people away. Many people I know never thought a wedding would ever be within their reach... so they don't even think about it. We need to praise intimate sweet small weddings more so that people don't always feel like they need a huge wedding to feel good about having a wedding. IMO

I haven’t seen a good nuclear family situation in my personal life. The woman is usually pulling the heavier load in rearing the children in addition to working. I lowkey feel like good/healthy co-parenting parents have more general happiness. Their child is being taken care of financial and otherwise and the personal freedom/time is more than that of married couple. You get to pursue your passions without worrying because the other parent is with the kids.

I am with Adrienne and Garcelle. The airfryer is no success for me. To be honest it doesn't work for large portions. It is so overrated. It is exactly like an oven but a smaller size except oven cooks everything on both sides while for an airfryer, it only has the heating part on one side which is why unless you flip the meat, you will not have both sides cook. It's just unnecessary and no extra space in my kitchen to keep. I'll stick to the oven. However, if you pay for electricity, then airfryer can be more affordable for you as it is a small space, it will heat up faster than an oven.
