This happened in a game with me and my friends.
A lil' backstory, we ended up taking part in a 20-man dungeon raid to eliminate some cultists and the legion of undead they've been sending out to harass various settlements. Our group ends up as one of the two vanguards sent into the dungeon to scout out and disarm traps for the meat and potatoes to move in and fight the enemy. We took the hallway going to the right and I started getting to work locating and marking traps for disarmament.
Cue the first Natural 20.
As I was going about finding and marking traps I noticed a thin sealed doorway barely noticeable. I pointed this out to the others in my group and got back to my work while my friend tried to figure out how to get it open.
Cue the second Natural 20. As well as the DM's head hitting the table.
One spell later the door opens into a spiraling slim passage leading down into the antechamber where the cultists were hold up as well as their horde of skeletons. Messing with the horde on our own was ill advised and went against the plan, so we headed back up to alert the main party of our discovery. The end result was that the cultist were slaughtered before they knew what hit them, and a firestorm that almost wiped out the entire horde of undead.
What was supposed to take a minimum of four session was resolved in one. All because my friend and I roll two 20's.

This is one of the few things skyrim did really well on their dungeons. Either the exit was so well hidden you couldn't find it unless you knew where it was, or the exit was literally inaccessible
With the exception of dragon lairs. You could scale the steep rocks and drop down directly to the dragon fight and skip the entire dungeon leading up to the fight area
I did go ahead with the video theme and played the video backwards too. I do not regret anything.

It's actually pretty cool when you find an alternate route in games and avoid those big crazy ambushes. Then you sneak around and listen to the enemy npcs chat amongst themselves like "wtf is this guy?" Kind of like in Fallout 4 with the Hardware Town ambush.

This literally was my DnD campaign this Monday, they just went straight to the boss room

This happened to me in Skyrim once, and it was like a prison and I spent like half an hour trying to figure out how to get up through a spot where you are supposed to fall down from the other side and I was getting so mad!
Edit: I was eventually able to clip through and get up. But it was only when I went through the entire dungeon backwards and exited it that I realized that I did it all the wrong way and the half an hour of struggling was all for nothing.

In most modern games u can't exit trough the backdoor bacause there is a closed last door in the Wall or some cliff or something u can only get over from the "right" way.
