Tv will never be like this again. This was when family got ready for bed, made popcorn and all got together to watch The Carol Burnett show. A little music and a lot of laughs! I miss those times.
The best ever, I watch you all the time I love Eunice and mama is my favorite. And I love Mama's Family. Thank you Carol Burnett all the Precious Years you have given all of us and continue thank you for RUclips or else we would not be able to watch any of this
Wow! What a great show she put on! I miss that kind of live improv humor. Her shoes were always so full of humor and joy. The bloopers were awesome too. Harvey Kidman could never hold character and they all enjoyed making him break down with laughter! Thanks for the memories
AMMMAzing how Harvey still sounded like himself unlike the rest of the staff. They all looked and seemed old but not Harvey despite his silver hair. RIP Harvey 💐
Congratulations to Carol Burnett and the entire team! Excellence and brilliance like this will never be seen again. All of them had such class, style and beautiful kind of pizzazz and showbiz professionalism...!!!!....they are missed so much. And of course, their blend of humor was totally out of this world. Well done to all of them!!!
1989. I was 25, waiting tables at the now defunct Bistro Garden in Beverly Hills. I had waited on Carol Burnett several times. I finally got the up nerve to thank her and tell her the story of how some of the fondest memories of my childhood were watching her show with my grandma who by this time had recently passed away. Carol literally burst into tears, gave me a huge bear hug, thanked ME and through her tears sobbed, "That's why we did the show!" She is the one of the most gracious, humble and genuinely nice people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. She is off screen, the same down to earth lady that she is on screen. Thank you again, Carol, for being a part of my childhood with my grandma. I shall cherish those memories as long as I live -- and thank you for just being a genuinely nice and humble lady who acknowledged a fan with grace, class, and kindness. I shall cherish the memory of meeting you and your reaction and hug as long as I live as well. Thank you, Carol Burnett and cast and everyone involved in the show.
Wow, that is such a wonderful story! Thank you so much for sharing it! I always rather assumed that all to be true - that she is just as down-to-earth in real life as she allowed herself to be on-screen! Carol and her wonderful team of witty personalities is also a part of my growing up, and I do believe I got at LEAST part of my wacky sense of humour from her and her show. And that humour has been a true gift for both me and others around me all my life. I think that one of the things she taught us was that it was okay to laugh at ourselves. That funny things weren't always where we expected them to be. And that, in the end, the fact that we all laughed together was all that mattered. :) While she may never see this little comment buried on the internet of all thingzzzz... I also want to say, "Thank you, Carol Burnett and cast and everyone involved in the show." You have all made our lives richer. Bless you.
When I would watch this, I was always kind of saddened when Carol would sing I'm so glad we had this time together. This was the best of variety shows. Others were very good but this was the standard for them all.
the carol Burnet show was a light that shined bright in an otherwise difficult and lonely young adult woman life. a break in the bad family life that had me laughing to tears. I loved them all equally. there has never been anything since to measure up...thank you carol and al, from the bottom of my heatt.
Rita Basso I totally agree. But with the awful PC culture of today, and no-talent hacks that think they can only be funny by being X-rated (which is "ok" depending on their political views or some other unimportant reason - hypocritical and ironic in a PC culture, huh?), I'm sadly sure that'll never happen. We just must thank God for videotapes, DVDs, and RUclips! :-)
*LOVED* this show. Always looked forward to seeing her everyday when I came home from grade school throughout Junior High. First -class comedy! No one ever came close to them
Oh how I wish CBS would just rerun the Carol Burnett Show in its entirety. Never in the history of television has there been, nor will there ever be again, a funnier & more brilliant show than the Carol Burnett Show. God how we could use that kind of light hearted, but SMART comedy now.
This is a level that the people on the current SNL will NEVER get to. It is nearly forty years since this show was last on the air, and these sketches and costumes (and the people who were in them) are legends beyond compare.
Yvonne Rocchio “what happened to the fun in life”? Politically correct snowflakes happened and they exist and get their way because we tolerate them. Political correctness should not be tolerated for a second. EVERY TIME it rears its evil satanic head, it should be challenged and “shot down” without hesitation.
There will never be another show like her's shes an Icon and she broke through the Glass celling one of comedy's treasure's around the globe thank you for the stroll down memory lane much Respect from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada :)
All my life, Carol and gang have kept me alive with laughter. Whenever I feel down, I visit RUclips for a few of these skits. They are blessings from Heaven.
The Carol Burnett Show was some of the funniest and most unpretentious comedy I have ever seen in my life time. All of them were wonderful. The fact that the cast would crack up in their sketches gave the show such charm. Carol guest starred on the new Hawaii Five O and had a love interest with Frankie Valli. She sang on the show. She hasn't lost a step. She is still a wonderful talent. Love you Carol.
some trivia : Vicki Lawrence & Tim Conway had occassional appearances on the sitcom Yes Dear (2000-06) as parents of the main character Greg.. hilarious
I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I have to say it. Lucy was funny. Carol is funnier! I say that because it came naturally to Carol. Lucy had to learn how to do comedy. I was always supposed to be asleep when this came on. The few times I saw it I would be dying of laughter. I remember the night this special aired. My wife and I were dealing with a death in my family right before the holidays, but for one night we were laughing uncontrollably.
Carol Burnett and cast knew how to make you laugh without hate in your heart for anyone. They took you to another place where you just laughed and loved!
I remember that outfit at 12:22 with the pink balloons. I was talking about this last week with friends of mine who remember that one; which episode of Carol Burnett was that from?
The closing song Carol sang at the end of each show became even more poignant when she sang it for the last time at the end of the very last show Also, they had a gold mine in Tim Conway - the best there was, the best there ever Will Be.

True. Sad.
I so agree. It was wholesome raunchy in a good way and just plain fun!
The best ever, I watch you all the time I love Eunice and mama is my favorite. And I love Mama's Family. Thank you Carol Burnett all the Precious Years you have given all of us and continue thank you for RUclips or else we would not be able to watch any of this
This world would never be the same without
Carol & Vickie, thanks for the laughs ladies😀
Bless

It's nice to know that she is a nice lady in real life . I hate to find out that my favorite performers are jerks off stage.
"The Family" was my most favorite sketch on the show. Glad it turned into Mama's Family later.
Without a doubt the best show of 70s
Just delightful! I loved this show and Carol and all of them are just awesome. Great retrospective. Loved the salute to Bob Mackey.
Sqeezing the boob was classic...too funny! I wish we had comedians of this caliber like this again today.
7:28 That horse blooper gets me every time. The way she's CRYING laughing!
Mario Escalante
And that ad lib. “shall we take it up from number one or number two“ what a comic genius!
The Carol Burnett show had the best cast in the history of Hollywood shows.
I agree, the outrageous costumes often got the laughs started! Genius in all!
RIP Tim Conway and Harvey Korman...You comic icons!!!!!
Dear God bring me back to these times! One of the greatest shows ever!
When I would watch this, I was always kind of saddened when Carol would sing I'm so glad we had this time together. This was the best of variety shows. Others were very good but this was the standard for them all.
Vicki will ALWAYS be beautiful to me! The show will always be an icon of tv!

I'm so grateful to have witness this era of television as it occurred. The Carol Burnett Show was "must see tv" in my house. It was a friggin event!
So bittersweet watching this...
RIP, Harvey Korman. My goodness, you sure entertained me.

We need to get back to this kind of comedy, it was the best.

I loved Carol Burnett, good, clean comedy
Oh how I wish CBS would just rerun the Carol Burnett Show in its entirety. Never in the history of television has there been, nor will there ever be again, a funnier & more brilliant show than the Carol Burnett Show. God how we could use that kind of light hearted, but SMART comedy now.
MeTv, broadcasting station, shows reruns week days at 11 pm. Pick it up on rabbit ears.

Carol and her mom were so poor when she was a child, that they would take ketchup packets home to make soup. How her life certainly changed.
Made my evening here in 2022

some trivia : Vicki Lawrence & Tim Conway had occassional appearances on the sitcom Yes Dear (2000-06) as parents of the main character Greg.. hilarious
I miss Harvey he was so funny 😂 and I love Carol and Vicki and Tim to
Good clean comedy.
Vicki is so beautiful
Too bad Harvey's not with us anymore. He and Tim Conway were like Abbott and Costello.
Tim made Harvey wet his pants during the dentist sketch

They don't make TV like this anymore:(
Will never be another
the way that horse looked at the camera, like..'What !' what's so funny?'

The Carol Burnett Show was the original version of SNL.
a much better one
Ken Brownfield And then SNL got too political. Not so Carol's show.
anyone with magical powers please take us back to the 70s
DOCSAFETUBE, I want to go back to 1969. I was 8 years old and life was simple and magical.
Carol Burnett and cast knew how to make you laugh without hate in your heart for anyone. They took you to another place where you just laughed and loved!
14:07. Somebody started cutting large onions at this part. I had to stop halfway through.
Great stuff!
The Best!!
Carol and Vicki breaking character always killed me
These guys show hella (👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏) good
Carol and Vicky look like they're in their late 30's early 40s, but the guys look almost 70
so fun!
I remember that outfit at 12:22 with the pink balloons. I was talking about this last week with friends of mine who remember that one; which episode of Carol Burnett was that from?
Well it could have been worse, the horse could have grown an erection!😆
The closing song Carol sang at the end of each show became even more poignant when she sang it for the last time at the end of the very last show
Also, they had a gold mine in Tim Conway - the best there was, the best there ever Will Be.
Where's Lyle Waggoner?
Where's Lyle???
5:38 "You were a wreck, you were erect" wait, what?
Why no Lyle?
I would like to know when this special first aired. Never mind, found it on IMDB: 2001.
hahahahaha
the clip are great. I have bookmarked Tim Conway's elephant story, but this show is very cheesy. clips, yes, carol and vicki, not nearly
