I grew up with Howie in Arkansas. He and one of my older brothers were best friends. He's a really good dude. I wish that I had gotten to know him better back then.

Solid content Jake. I still hold to my view I wish Franz stayed on the GB and was a force for good/change. Staying in the ORG, but with a mind to change it, just might save the most people. Here's hoping at least one of the new GB members is sane.
Nice thought, but hey, the root stock of this organization is to polluted, that is why good people leave. Can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear... I love little four legged live piggies, babies are so cute and smart. Adults are Woooooo, big time.
@@gisella1350 I feel there are "good people" in the org who will never leave. It reminds me of a movie quote: "People don't drink the sand because they're thirsty. They drink the sand because they don't know the difference." They hear the GB and all they hear is truth.
@@incognito_JWThat’s one of my favorite lines in “The American President”. And, while it is especially apropos this week in the intended context, yet it also well describes the situation in which Jehovah’s witnesses are found. For many of those who were born and raised in the organization, the metaphorical sand provided by the Society is all they’ve ever known. I was fortunate to have had parents who became witnesses as adults; consequently, I had opportunities to occasionally drink the metaphorical water from the outside. And, yet, even I was thirty-six before I finally gave up the sand! I can’t imagine what it must be like for those who’ve never tasted the water.
*"I wish Franz stayed on the GB and was a force for good/change."* Watchtower is not, and never has been, a force for good. It is a business, pretending to be a religion, whose sole focus is on profiteering off of the gullible. Ray wouldn't have changed anything.
Many years ago, a couple of friends and I were discussing the attitudes of the gb (this was in ‘69) whilst we were enjoying some whisky (not Macallan’s 😆) in our motel room. We concluded that whilst they are not always right, they’re never wrong 😂. Go figure… Just saying.
Alternate take on the laughing: "Brother Geoff," believes that his whole audience never even believed the organization's teachings, but we're just going along with it like he was. To be at the top means you can see all the cards. You may not "know it's a scam," but you do know that you and your GB buddies are fallible and making it up as you go. And you have to be comfortable with that. It might be cathartic for Geoff to finally get rid of teachings he never believed but now has the votes to get rid of. Of course this would disqualify the organization as possibly true for logical thinkers, but it's merely a "refinement," for the cultists.
Thank you for saying this. It’s an accurate reflection of how cynical Jackson is in making those ridiculous remarks in his discourse. Granted, not every witness accepts every last thing coming down the pike from the Society, at least at face value. Looking back on my thirty-six years of involvement with the Society, from the late ‘70’s through July 2016, this was the case with me all along. However, what Jackson fails to acknowledge (at least on the platform) is that, while Jehovah’s witnesses do endeavor to “go along” and rationalize what the Society says on given topics, sooner or later the time comes when it’s too much. The individual witness reaches the breaking point. Then the Society presents a change and no amount of rationalization on the part of the individual can make the change fit into the structure-and the structure collapses of its own weight. I’m quite certain that Jackson and the other members of the Governing Body do realize this. Nonetheless, they refuse to acknowledge it from the platform or in the Society’s publications because they know that to actually do so would cause the decline of recent years to hasten as more and more witnesses realize that it’s all a hoax perpetrated at their expense.

Fantastic video as always. Honestly a thousand reiterations of how absurd Jackson’s mocking of his own followers wouldn’t be enough, that’s also been stuck in my head. On the Gage Fleegle (my next Steampunk TTRPG character) video I have two theories on the bizarre Back to the Future tense issue. 1. I’m mostly convinced that it’s hitched to the inherent bizarre concept of dream-vision-prophecy not making any sense temporally in the theology. Or rather the doctrine not addressing it at all. It’s almost like the expected Witness interpretation of Revelation is that the audience is essentially in the Animus at the end of Assassin’s Creed 2, so Jesus makes his announcement in the future, but in the past to John of Patmos but actually in the future because he’s actually talking to us by breaking the fourth wall (because we’re very special) but also in the future because it hasn’t happened yet. Thus time is completely thrown out of the window. Which makes me want to ask more exJW’s about time travel in the Bible, I always used to hear either Jesus time travelled in the transfiguration or Enoch was teleported to future paradise so he wasn’t technically killed. But I digress. 2. My other theory comes from the old Revelation book. I have no clue whether the doctrine is still the same in regards to this-I’d assume not-but in chapter 30 they say Babylon already fell, which seems contradictory to all other statements but who the hell knows. Anyways they talk about Revelation 14 there instead of 18 which Gage Sprocket Fleegle is talking about. Since Babylon falls twice in Revelation… somehow. If that’s what Gage is thinking of then I’m not sure why he’d be talking about it being a future event, then again, maybe he too can’t keep up with the roulette doctrine. Here’s a quote from that. Mostly because Babylonish Christendom is the funniest term I’ve heard in a while and also willingly referring to the Governing Body and Co. as locusts is hilarious. “In our time the cry that Babylon the Great has fallen has also been heard! Babylonish Christendom’s temporary success in 1918 was sharply reversed in 1919 when the remnant of anointed ones, the John class, was restored by a spiritual resurrection. Babylon the Great had fallen as far as having any captive hold on God’s people was concerned. Like locusts, Christ’s anointed brothers swarmed out of the abyss, ready for action.”
Does so called Bro. Geoff know that his obesity is rooted in the sin of gluttony? Oh ya, focus on things that he has no understanding of, instead of removing sin from his life.
My NWT is 1984 version at 1Co 4:6 says "Do not go beyond the things that are written". So at the 1:00, he has the audacity to state when Jehovah makes something known when the Scriptures were complete as of the 1st century. Then they try to be funny with expressions like "another change", "Google it as soon as you leave here" and so on. How much more proof do we need that this organization like so many others, just continues to go beyond the things written?
I was given a copy of Ray Franz book. Only half way through. I was so disgusted how they ousted him out some others at the same time. In JW world the concept of "truth" is flexible. Revealed truth today may not be truth tomorrow and what was truth yesterday, may not be truth today. Like George Orwells "1984", truth is what we ( government, governing body etc) say it is.
The phrase he used is actually “guardians of doctrine”, with the initials forming the acronym “G.O.D.”. It means that the members of the Governing Body really do see themselves as God to Jehovah’s witnesses. Consequently, they create the plot holes.
I like to say that Christendom figured all this stuff out centuries ago, but the inventions of modernity got a bunch of people questioning stuff, which is ok, but resulted in a whole lot of other BS. Trying to figure out the Bible and creating a society around particular doctrinal ideas is so ridiculous. Geoff reminds me of a politician going on Jimmy Kimmel.
@@cygnustspActually, I would say that Geoffrey Jackson is the Society’s equivalent to another late-night host: The absolute worst of the worst, Jimmy Fallon. The few times I’ve ever seen him (going back to his days on “Saturday Night Live”), Fallon has always forced the joke on his audience rather allow the audience the option of whether or not to accept it or allowing the joke to simply develop. That’s insulting to the audience. Jackson is similar in that his “jokes” are direct insults to the audience. For instance, in this same discourse, he had that one-liner: “We know you’re not Googling. But you will be.” He knew full well that the announcement had been made at the beginning of the session for those in attendance to ‘turn off their electronic devices’. Yet, here he is cynically telling his brethren to not be looking up the new appointments while he’s on the platform. Then, again throughout this same discourse, he did all that grunting. Not even Tim Allen grunts that much! If anything, that made Jackson come across as ignorant as well as cynical.

The problem of God putting thoughts into the minds of the kings of the earth to do his will is one of theodicy and not restricted to just JWs. The Hebrew Bible says God hardened the heart of Pharaoh when he was in a showdown with him, he used an angel to as a lying spirit to fool king Ahab, he used the arrows and the liver, tools of divination, to get Nebuchadnezzar to besiege Jerusalem during the winter, Ezekiel has God putting hooks into Gog of MaGog's jaws to turn him around and attack Israel, the king of the north is spurred to attack the holy mountain of decoration by disturbing reports out of the north, and in the NT the kings of the earth are led to the battle at Armageddon by unclean spirits (NWT has unclean inspired expressions) and in chapter 17 of Revelation God puts one thought into the minds of the kings which it says is also their thought. Evidently this is suggesting that God is galvanizing them to action at a time of his choosing. So this is a motif found in the Hebrew Bible and in the New Testament. Is God righteous in doing this? As I said this is a question of theodicy and not restricted to just JWs

Because of this, the organization created a new policy regarding blood transfusion, either completely rejecting it or allowing some of its components. Regarding prophecies, humans can only read signs, but we still don't know about the day and hour. Because of this, organizations have had to revise their beliefs regarding the interpretation of prophecies several times.
Your attention to the finer details is remarkable. Excellent work
You are the Exjw's answer to Montey Python, bloody hilarious, you are solid gold, my friend, keep up the outrageous good work....😂😂😂
I grew up with Howie in Arkansas. He and one of my older brothers were best friends. He's a really good dude. I wish that I had gotten to know him better back then.
Yup this series of talks ( present BS) woke me up! Thxs Jeff 😂
Tony will not write a book. Watchtower silenced him by giving him a villa.
I imagine Gage Fleegle quoting Sylvester Stallone in 'Judge Dredd' (1995) 'You broke the lore!' and brother Geoff coming back contemptuously 'The loorrrrre!!!'
Howie is the best! 🥰
And Harry Peloyne was a straight talking, very sincere man, who I believe may have stayed in WT all this time due to fear of losing his beloved wife, Rose.
Harry is featured in Crisis of Conscience, and in accounts made by Barbara Anderson, of the time they all spent working closely together in Brooklyn Bethel.
If God has something to tell us, then why doesn’t HE just tell us instead of all of us sitting here waiting with bated breath for the Octo-pope+2?????
He has, and did; scripture.
Not what Watchtower wanted to hear, consider, obey or follow, they ditched scripture and wrote a book of their own.
Octopope-that’s very clever and funny 😂!

IF, and I emphasize IF, there were a “god” who cared about humans and the rest of creation, he would have plainly stated his requirements for worshiping him, instead of us trying to navigate through all manner of nuances and vagaries and having humans kill each other whilst all the while declaring that they’re doing so in his name, and with his “blessing”😂…
Just saying.
@@mattmurdock2868 I don't know about all that. It seems to me that a bunch of sheep herders and fisherman writing tall tales on rotting paper that no longer exists and then multiple governments and churches taking their turn re-translating wherever the hell the current "oldest" documents came from was just a very, very poor method. Why wouldn't Holy Spirit make the existing 3000 translations all match and avoid all of this bullsh!t? Why weren't the original scrolls protected and still existing in a format that would last forever?
I'm afraid he hasn't, and didn't, and scripture didn't capture anything of value.
I like how Geoffrey Jackson gets the "brother Jeff" nickname instead of Jeffrey Winder. Seems intentional if you ask me 😏
You know Jackson must be the one in the heavy boots around there. You can tell he would be outspoken and fullblown arrogant to deal with. The newbies are little yapping dogs begging to be in his lap.
26:50 Wow Jake good catch!!
2 different takes on "what will Jesus do" or "what has Jesus done already" in the SAME GB Convention(?( talk!! 😱
I love how you included the clips of Mr. Ferdinand in this
Fantastic evaluation 😊
*"I wish Franz stayed on the GB and was a force for good/change."*
Watchtower is not, and never has been, a force for good. It is a business, pretending to be a religion, whose sole focus is on profiteering off of the gullible.
Ray wouldn't have changed anything.
You mean alchohol not water right?
Many years ago, a couple of friends and I were discussing the attitudes of the gb (this was in ‘69) whilst we were enjoying some whisky (not Macallan’s 😆) in our motel room.
We concluded that whilst they are not always right, they’re never wrong 😂.
Go figure…
Just saying.
According to WT, even the errors and false teachings of the GB prove that they are God's channel.
Those that make the rules always win.
The you tube poop edits is killing me 😂
Alternate take on the laughing: "Brother Geoff," believes that his whole audience never even believed the organization's teachings, but we're just going along with it like he was.
@@thomash.schwed3662 yeah. They have to keep up appearances in public, but in private settings, they let their guard down. It was a big eye opener for me when I was appointed an MS seeing how the elders talked about the friends. It was clear they had two sets of attitudes depending on who they were talking to.
Geoffrey Jackson's tone is that of "Isn't it funny what The Watchtower made you believe under penalty of disfellowshipping?"
Flip-floppery is now part of my vocabulary. Thank you!

Whatever happened to Tony Morris, him and Ray Franz aren't the only Governing Body members who resigned/were kicked. Ewart Chitty resigned in 1979, Leo Greenlees in 1985.
I didn’t say it only happened to Franz and Morris. I said what happened to Tony mirrors what happens with Franz in a lot of ways.
Ewart shitty
I agree with you Jake, baptized in 1975, this so called new light is nothing more than the same old faded yellow dim light that it always has been.

I find great irony in the fact that we are not supposed to predict ‘the end’ according to scripture.
Yet, that’s all they do…I’m sure many like me grew up in fear of imminent Armageddon because of these lot.
In a congregation I was once in an elderly sister was always asking a particular elder about changes and what should she believe now. She was told "do your research".. She died a very confused unhappy lady
Speaking of governments having teeth, that Australian Royal Commission had a few. 😂
Trying to make sense of the inane babblings of these crazed men is the reason this organization has has to do backflips and summersaults to interpret these statements. I am so glad I woke up and don’t have to do these mental gymnastics with them.
“Brother Geoff’.. because I think JWorg doesn’t like it so much what JWs will find out if they googled Geoffrey Jackson.. when they hear/read how he lied under oath (on his own NWT bible) in the Australian Royal Commission.
How do they think god puts these “new thoughts/new light” into all the religions of the world but yet the jw’s say they are the ONLY religion that god talks to/gives new light?!
Bless this comment 🙏
LoL 😆 great job on this insanity!!
The way this is edited is fucking hilarious.
If the JW god hides correct information from the herd, then what makes anything they believe correct?
I was given a copy of Ray Franz book. Only half way through. I was so disgusted how they ousted him out some others at the same time.
The tiny clip u showed of him talking about reporting time was incorrect. Wow, so ahead of his time.
As witnesses, we silently disagreed with it but sadly just did as we were told. I dreaded that txt msg from my grp study overseer every mth.....reports pls.
Ray, i really believe would be proud of u guys doing these channels n continuing to expose their lies.
Its so sad that present day witnesses (the young would know nothing of their religions history).

His book tells the truth of what really happened.

In JW world the concept of "truth" is flexible. Revealed truth today may not be truth tomorrow and what was truth yesterday, may not be truth today. Like George Orwells "1984", truth is what we ( government, governing body etc) say it is.

Pretty sure god is just a book character that we made up. Don't get so excited.
Brother Geoff did say “we are the protectors of the doctrine” mean we fill in plots holes those goat herders and copycats made
The phrase he used is actually “guardians of doctrine”, with the initials forming the acronym “G.O.D.”. It means that the members of the Governing Body really do see themselves as God to Jehovah’s witnesses. Consequently, they create the plot holes.
Prophetic BABEL. Prophetic "confusion".
How could the only true religion be so fucking wrong all the time? Shouldn't a divinely inspired group not need to change their doctrine?
@cygnustsp The Catholic Church got it right it's been teaching the fullness of the truth for almost 2000 yrs. ❤✝️🙏🥖🍷❤️
Not handing over to the UN. It is being handed over to the WHO. The new pandemic treaty amendments actually does give the head of the WHO the right to declare a pandemic and have governments hand over all types of civil and human rights. The governments do not have to sign on to it, however if they do not make a written objection it is taken as agreed. Look it up.

Hey Jake, my wife and I studied with the witnesses for 8 years and recently told them we are no longer going to study but we still believe in God, not the organization. Regardless of our stance, you can clearly see the world is in shambles and if you ask anyone they would most likely agree. Whether Armageddon happens or something catastrophic like WW3 we are convinced something big is coming whether that’s spiritual or man made. I’m curious to know what your thoughts are or do you still believe in god or any doctrine? Or are you just living in the moment and whatever happens, happens?

I still cannot get over the extreme irony over these people becoming part of the relativeness of the very world they condemn. Whatever your viewpoint is of these people, in the end the ' truth' (inside joke) will winout. I remember when they came out with the nonsense of God writing "in pencil' those written in the book of life. Apparently witnesses need to start writing everything in pencil, and make sure you have a very large eraser.
