Austin, Texas-based musician Forrest LeMaire started releasing mini-albums of his epic synthpop tuns back in 2008. By 2012, he gained a lot of attention among synthpop fans for the song "Destroy Me", which seemed to encapsulate what the musician, who is best-known as Echo Strobe or Mr. Kitty (in the mainstream), describes as his "self-destructive" tone. But perhaps no song of his has done a better job at that as "After Dark". While it was originally released in 2014, "After Dark" found its way out of the underground scene and into the mainstream thanks to a fan video released in 2019.
The video, which was made by "Diana Darkangel", is, at the time of this writing, sitting at over 46 million views on RUclips. And according to Spotify's "Artist Wrapped" list, the song became an absolute sensation in 2020 and rode through the entirety of the pandemic so far. No doubt, in part, because of the video which featured a compilation of dreamy, highly romantic, and ultimately nostalgic clips from Bryan Gordon and John Hughes' Career Opportunities... Specifically shots of Jennifer Connelly being put on a pedestal as the ultimate adolescent crush.

I actually saw Mr.Kitty in concert in Washington DC back in 2014 or 15. He was opening for IAMX. No one had any idea who he was. I honestly never expected him to blow up so big in the coming years. Love this video!

A tragedy that the original was taken down, whoever edited it did a great job of making it flow to the music as if it was the official music video.
I encourage you save this video to persevere it just in case it gets removed from my channel.
I wonder why it got taken down such a shame. I think that video also made After Dark and Jennifer Connelly more popular too.
You should have seen some of the other stuff that got taken down before this one. Literally brought tears to my eyes, and now it's gone.
Diana Darkangle made/edited this video. She made some amazing videos that are mostly taken down now. Literally Hollywood level editing and now she's back to obscurity.

This was the video that caused me to fall in love with Jennifer Connelly all over again. I'm glad I was finally able to hunt it down again. A bunch of others try to mimic it, but this is the top choice for those who crushed on her hard all those years ago like I did.

It still amazes me how some people are able to absolutely nail piecing together something like this. The feeling they're able to catch and some how discover that these two pieces or art would connect so well to catch that certain emotion they were going for but then resonates with so many people for so many different reasons. Really astonishes me.

If anyone has a VR headset, I've converted a version of this video to 3D. The reason I say a version of this video is the "4K upscale" version on youtube doesn't match this original versions musicality and it is missing scenes and shot lengths are different. I used the high quality 4K source and tried to match the musical sync of this video as best as possible. Since there were different shots I had to make a few creative decisions, but I feel I captured the spirit of the original here with the clips being about 90% the same.
This reminds me of working in retail and spending most of my time in big shopping malls and being there after hours. If a company is run right it can be one of the best jobs ever. We let people turn it into such a shitty enviornment.

It was downloaded by another user and I was able to receive the downloaded copy which the quality is downscaled after its been downloaded from its original. Which has since been deleted unfortunately.
