If you love a smooth, comfortable ride, but you don't want your commute to be a bore, this might just be your perfect car. What are you cross-shopping against the IS 350?
Cadillac Ct5 and Genesis g70 but looking like as far as reliability and resale value Lexus kills it in that category as well. what you thinking?
@@Genghiskhong Haven't driven too many Cadillics, but seems like the CT4 would be the one in the same class as the G70 and the IS right? Between the IS and the G70, the Genesis has the better trans, better handling, more power. The IS has better ride quality, comfort, and reliability. Hyundai has come a long way in terms of reliability, just not at Lexus level yet. Just depends which things are more important to you.
Had no idea IS stood for Intelligent Sport, but glad you got to check this vehicle out I’ve def been very curious about it. Keep posting brother
Hey, thanks man! I appreciate the support! Yeah, I love digging into what different car names mean and getting into the history a bit. The Lexus names all mean something, which I think is pretty cool.
Can't wait until about May next year to buy one as a CPO.Looking for the white exterior with the red interior.Best combo in my opinion.Beautiful car.👍👍
I have a 2017 WRX. Amazing car. But I just purchased this car and I’m so excited
Nice! That's a big change. The WRX is great for performance, but definitely getting much more comfort and quiet with the IS. Hope you love it! Congrats! Enjoy!
That’s a badass ride. I personally think Lexus killed it with the refreshed exterior. Appreciate the review!
Agreed! It looks great! Thanks for the comment!
@@GearboxCarReviews you bet! I may be biased though cause I own one of these haha, but nice to have the supposedly reliable one of the bunch vs 3 series/A4. Driving dynamics may be a little less composed though, but eh tradeoffs. Just subbed!
@@anonemoose6121 ha, nothing wrong with that! Hope you're enjoying it! Yeah, you lose some performance compared to BMWs and Audis, but it's such a smooth ride, and like you said, Lexus reliability is a huge plus. Thanks for the sub! Appreciate it!
Love it. Hello from south Windsor 😎
Hey, thanks! Hello from Bristol!
Really sad they don’t sell this model in Europe. Have owned both first and second gen is 250 as a 22 year old, and this gen in pearl white is literally my dream car.
Oh man! That's too bad that you don't get them there! It's a great car. I hope you at least get a chance to drive one around on vacation or something!
no HUD , no sales in europe :-(
my dream car
Keep hustling, you'll get there!
I like the review on the car. This is a car I might get in a year or so if this car can handle man of 6 feet tall. First review from anyone from Ct. Hope pricing on cars change, so once again your not paying full list or a extra surcharge. Car pricing has really changed in the last year or so.
Thank you! I appreciate it! Tell your friends :)
I think you *should* be ok at 6' as long as you don't have anyone tall that needs to sit behind you on a regular basis. It really is a great car if you're looking for comfort and a smooth ride first and foremost, but you still want it to be fun and sporty.
Yeah, I really hope that the market returns to somewhat normal soon. The market adjustments are absolutely crazy at this point. Best of luck in your search, and thanks again for watching!
I'm 6' and own a 3rd gen is350 with two car seats in the back, you'll be okay. You might have a problem if you're overweight though.
I'm 6'6 and this is my daily driver. No issues fitting in it, it's super comfy n I still have head room just can't have anyone sit behind me lol 😅
When will they offer a performer package possible 400 Hp Or a V8
They do! There's a performance pack available on the IS350 (doesn't give it an hp boost though), then there's the 472 hp IS500 with a V8 in it! ruclips.net/video/zV5l_D7gITM/видео.html
How do you find the difference in gas mileage between leaving it on Sports mode vs normal vs Eco? :)
Great question! I'm having trouble finding any published data. You might have to dig around the Lexus forums to see if anyone has done any experimenting.
very little. Sport mode gives you much more apparent acceleration aka access to power. Eco dumbs things down. Overall you can achieve eco driving figures in sport and vice versa. Real world you can expect to average 22mpg in this thing. I speak as an owner of a 3IS. In sport mode you will burn more gas only because you are more likely to access that power whereas in eco you will have to really press the pedal hard before you get the power out.
For eco mode I been getting 22 MPG in sport mode I been getting 18-20 with the 2022 Lexus IS350 f sport AWD
Might need to trade in my wrx for one of these 👍
Nice! Doesn't have quite the same kick, and presumably giving up a manual, but it's definitely head and shoulders above in terms of ride quality, and definitely still pretty fun.
@@GearboxCarReviews love the handling of my wrx but want something sporty with a more comfortable ride
@@dmsqwerty definitely a solid option! If you haven't checked out a G70 with the 3.3t yet, I'd definitely consider one of those too. Not Lexus level ride quality and the Lexus looks better, but for a mix of sporty and comfortable/luxury it's pretty high on the list. It's got the IS beat in power, trans, features, and still really comfortable. Can't go wrong though, loved the IS350.
Super cool car, but I don't like the white interior.
Yeah, I'd never buy one with a white interior. I know some people are into it, but I'd be too afraid of it getting super dirty. Black or possibly red for me.
2:31 "Optional power moonroof" What a disgrace. Any luxury car after 2005 should have leather seats AND a moonroof STANDARD. The Lexus is 350 at this price point is insulting for what it offers. Slowest of the competitors and no luxury features like a Heads-up-display or ambient lighting. The only thing it has going for it is aggressive styling and reliability since it's Lexus and a naturally aspirated v6.
It could definitely use some upgrades in terms of interior/tech! I do know there are some people out there that would prefer not having the moonroof, but maybe it should be standard with the option of a moonroof delete or something.
@@GearboxCarReviews what are the disadvantages of a moonroof? Does it reduce acceleration? That seems to be a common theme in very fast vehicles and I don't know why
@@TheRealKingHarry for fast cars the issue is usually headroom. If you track your car, you may have issues fitting with your helmet on. Otherwise, it's aesthetics - I just like a clean surface - and a sunroof is just another potential for issues like leaking.
Over priced because dealership charging $3000-$5000 over MSRP. No thank u
Yeah, the market is awful. To be fair, pretty much everything is overpriced right now due to dealer markups.
Lexus is just milking this car at this stage they gave it a exterior refresh and a lcd touch infotainment screen and called it the new IS at the same time they jack the price up to the GS range which is ridiculous. By the way if you want led turn signals and memory functions get ready to pay over 55k.
Fair enough! It could definitely use a few more features, but it still holds up pretty well as is. I'd be super happy living with one! I'd go RWD with dynamic handling package though, and if I could stretch a bit, I'd definitely go for the 500 with the V8.
@@GearboxCarReviews it’s not even just a few features when you can get a tlx typeS for the same price as a is350 fsport both msrp at 55k.
@@tommy13965 That's fair if you really are up at 55k, but you can get true RWD and a base price of 43k. Up at 55k I'd be looking at the IS500, again true RWD and with an NA V8 instead of a turbo V6.
they offer a led turn signal this year? i didnt see that advertised. i think last year was still incandescent. which models have led now?
@@GearboxCarReviews if that was the case Lexus would be stupid to price the is350 fsport at 55k you will not be able to find one at that price you will be looking at 65k minimum on a is500.
This review is boring. Why in the wet? Just floor the damn thing! No one is buying an IS350 F Sport to talk in monotone and go 20mph downtown. Nailed the combination? For your driving style?
Sorry this video isn't your style. Just trying to provide some info and get a mix of city and highway. Luckily there are plenty of different video styles on RUclips.
you sound miserable. Log off internet and go for a run
