The lack of price drops really causes me internal conflict
Ill never forget seeing super mario 64 ds in walmart almost a decade or more later after having it on my ds as a kid, and the game was still like 50 dollars!!
@@artate92 - That sucks, but at least on the e-shop Nintendo does drop the price of their games, like, almost frequently, it hasn't even been half a month since they dropped Splatoon 2's price to $41.99.
Yes it was for a limited time, but not only was it not the first time they dropped its price, they actually dropped the price of a bunch of other games in the past, like BotW, Mario Odyssey, Kart8, Maker2, Party, Tennis, Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade 2 and more, and that's only on Switch.
Granted, most of them don't get massive discounts, the most we get is 33% off.
But do you really want them to rip the value of the games you already bought so they can make a quick buck?
Because that's what happened with MK11: Aftermath and a lot of fans aren't happy with that.
@@julianx2rl 42$ for a limited time.. Lmfqo
I buy all my switch games used of ebay, so no issue there
like number 1 is so silly........
Don’t forget that fact you can’t talk to your friends on the Switch AT ALL
Fortnite has voice chat
You can’t even message your friends on it.all I want to do is ask my friend if they want to play and then I can not talk to them in game
@@notasian7620 its cuz the voice chat is one of their feature
I think a really bad thing of Nintendo is the online system. It sucks
X
Yass bro
And their system performance too. The 30 fps and bad resolution can be really bad in some games that are on other consoles. The cartoony games may look good but games like Mortal Kombat look really bad.
Screw the online subscription. So bullcrap.
Yeah, like i did pay for it, but that was because i own a game that requires online, and i bet my father is gonna get mad at constantly purchasing it again when it expires.
Me: *leaves for 0.0001 nanoseconds*
My character: wanna see me fall off that cliff?
Luigi invites Mario over to play some Nintendo Switch. As they get ready to fire up some Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario notices Luigi has a new avatar. Mario then asks: "what's that avatar, Luigi?" Luigi replies, "It's a Mii, Mario."
That’s amazing it’s like a gamer dad joke lol
Sounds like one of those Mario & Luigi: Dream Team commercials.
I read this in their voices
Nice
Boooooo
When they went after rom sites and fan made games like just a couple days ago with the PC mario 64.
@Darth Wheezius I'm not sure that has copyright laws work, at least in the USA. Trademark has a use it or lose it. Not copyright. Copyright lasts for the life of the author (in this case, the oldest dev I think, not 100%) + 70 years for corporate authorship/ownership.
*waves a cane* Back in my day we had Nintendo's Player's Choice that would make select games sell at a lower price. It was mostly games that had already sold really well.
"Virtual Boy. I could stop there." hahah. I don't think you've ever made a truer statement.
Nintendo doesn't want us to forget xD Virtual Boy 2.0 is in the talks.. they made something.. 40 years ago, that is popular and works now.. xD they were too early
They hint at the VB in Luigi’s mansion 3
You hit the nail on the head with number one. They have a very Disney-esque approach to their prices. They rarely ever drop because they sell. They know the value of their brand. It’s sad but true.
To be fair... Do you know how many people buy Nintendo consoles just so they can pirate their software? People REALLY like their free meyro gaems.
I wouldn't say that their brand is worth the prices they charge.
They are not the only ones either, ea and activision dont lower prices either. There is no way im paying $60+ on a 5 yr old cod or battlefield game
Diego Medina That’s any console tho, to be fair. Piracy is just an issue, no matter what shades you give it. Doesn’t mean you see Sony never drop their prices on first party exclusives, but people have softmodded PS4s anyway.
But that’s the thing. People still buy games. Fuck, the best selling category on the eShop still shows games like BotW and Mario Odyssey as top sellers. I don’t agree with how Nintendo handles their sales, but people will buy them, wether it be brand loyalty or because people know what Nintendo is and trust their software because it’s Nintendo (based on the more wide majority of people who know what Nintendo is and not necessarily just core gamers.)
@@zirkh1609 And ubisoft does it too. They still charge full price for ac origins/odyssey. Unless you catch the games on sale. Nintendo needs to do the same on their store.
THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THE REDUCING GAMES THING, BOTW IS STILL *SIXTY DOLLARS* AND ITS NUTS
I don't know, man. Don't think I can say it about all of the games, but BOTW is certainly still worth the price to me. This game specifically is really, really good.
Check Walmart. They frequently have Switch games for $10 less than MSRP. That's not including when they do store sales cuts
@@Yahaire5 I'd still pay $60 too, but it would be so much better if it was less
Y’all are delusional. Nintendo is the only company that still prices their year-old games at $60. Horizon Zero Dawn, a PlayStation console exclusive RPG that also came out in 2017 routinely sells for under $20 brand new. RDR 2 sells for $25-30 and came out in late 2018. The only reason old Nintendo games are still $60 is because of greed.
Botw I thought got a permanent price decrease to $50. Not much better, but if you want to pick that up or Mario Odyssey, they're $49 at target, best buy and Walmart. It's the reason I got a switch, and I truly think it was the best $50 I've spent on a nintendo game.
Switch games are just too expensive, I was about to buy Skyrim and DOOM on the switch but they are like 40 dollars less on PS4 and PC
Doom eternal is 90 dollars on switch???
@@jqmez where did u see him mentioning doom eternal?
Yep. I rly like the switch but the games are to expensive.
Portability and exclusivity are the only reasons ever to buy on the switch. You'll always have better graphics and mods on pc.
@@jqmez more like 20 on pc
The Joy-Con drift is painful to deal with!
Yeah
Its been years and they still haven't fixed it
I sent mine in and they fixed them for free.
@@pranaym3859 or you can fix by yourself
Nintendrew has a video on how to fix it. I worked for me.
Its genuinely sad. 6 joycons later, a switch lite and STILL GET DRIFTING. My lite just broke yesterday, the right joystick just completely stopped functioning correctly. With the repairs being down I am basically left to fix this on my own. Wish me luck!
You forgot one of their biggest mistakes *_EVER!_*
Messing with Sony.
This led to the birth of PS1 and a new kid in town, who won't get bullied by the giants!
Septarap's Channel Nah. Their biggest mistake was writing disc based gaming off. Cause Nintendo did patch things up with Sony, and were gone to go through with making a disc drive with them, until they saw the Sega CD bomb, and decided it was a waste of time and money.
@Mike UK the psp was a great seller tho ? And was out selling the original ds tho ??
That was a win for me cause i like more Sony over Nintendo a lot
A mistake from Nintendo’s perspective but a blessing from everyone else 😬
@@SakuraAvalon well, looking at PlayStation console's popularity (disc based 32-bit game system) I think the disc idea was pretty change-of-phase kinda deal for the future of gaming.
.
Now, I love Nintendo 64, but I can't overlook the fact that they ditched the CD-ROM in favor of cartridges.
.
Yes, I agree with you. Sega CD got shat on by gamers and critics alike, but that's because of the mismanagement on their part. Had Sega of Japan accepted the partnership offered by Sony back then, Sega would have been a dangerous competitor to Nintendo to this day....
the not lowering prices thing is definitely the most egregious fault, There is absolutely no reason to pay full price for a game that came out in 2017 that was also massively successful.
Thats why i gumtree and other second hand sites
Boo boo
Activision is also bad about this. Black Ops 2 is STILL $60 USD on Steam, and it came out in 2012. There is no good god damn reason for it to still be so expensive on Steam.
When I was a kid in 1995 I used to go over to my neighbor's house and my friend's dad had a virtual boy I remember playing Wario's world.... yeah I'm glad we had the SNES to fall back on in that time
Justin Last Sega VR was nowhere near as bad as the Virtual Boy.
I truly never new that Nintendo doesn't drop prices. I'd thought about getting a Switch but that's not gonna happen now that I know that.
Makes good resale prices tho
never new, always old
Last time I was this early, Bethesda was a decent company
When was that hahahaha
Decent? How? Decent games?
Which Bethesda? Softworks or Game Studios?
If you're talking about OG Skyrim released... Nope not really.
I don't care what anyone says... Oblivion was a masterpiece, bugs and all
I guess everybody forgot about the Philips CD-i Nintendo games.
Oh god nightmare fuel
Oh hell nah. They were the worst.
Don't know what you're talking about
I was waiting for him to mention it the whole vid
Philips made those though, not Nintendo.
I can still attest to the joycon drift. My right joycon just started to drift
I thought it was just the left! Now I have to worry about the right one drifting too fml
Try this: get rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. Rub it in between the joysticks and wait for it to dry. I did it and it fixed mine :)
The 3 major gaming consoles are guilty with this.
Same. They asked €50 to repair it! I'll be doing it myself for $10...
@Erik Lopez tilt the stick and spray the inside with a can of compressed air
I can't be the only one bothered by the fact that the broken switch on the thumbnail does not fit each other right?
Now that you pointed it out, I just noticed it.
They changed it Lol
@@safsaf99 it's suspected that changing the thumbnail assists in the algorithm. So creators are using low effort thumbnails then changing them to the actual thumbnail

Wii U today is still my favorite console.
I had so much fun with friends and family playing the multiplayer games. Especially Nintendoland and Warioware.
Biggest mistake with the Switch is the lack of backwards compatibility.
The Wii, and to greater extent, the Wii U were fully backwards compatible back to the gamecube.
The Wii could play a gamecube disc. All you needed was a gamecube controller. So that means all that junk you bought for the Wii, all the dumb controllers and what not, all work on the Wii, and to greater extend-- the Wii U.
The Virtual Console Store featured almost a full library of N64, SNES, and NES games, and even some SEGA games.
The fact that the Wii U had a "Wii Menu" alone should've prompt more sales from upgrading Wii users. The Wii U doubled as its own console and the Wii, and the Wii doubled as its own console and a Gamecube.
The Wii U was 3 consoles in one.
It let you carry all the add-ons and junk controller attachments that you bought for the previous two generations, and use them on the current generation.
The Switches greatest mistake was throwing all this away and forcing you to start over, with a new virtual console, which released with very little games.
The JoyCon controllers were basically Wii motion controllers remade, and the Switch itself was the Wii U Gamepad with the guts of the console inside of it.
I held off for quite a while before getting a Switch simply because of the sheer lack of backwards compatibility. The only games the Switch had at launch was Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2. I could pass on Splatoon, and BoTW was also a Wii U game.. and the future games to come were just re-releases of older switch games like Donkey Kong and Mario Kart 8.
Literally gave me zero reason to upgrade, I just bought BoTW on Wii U and enjoyed that while I waited for more titles to appear.
I got a switch last year, and a couple of months ago I went to buy zelda breath of the wild, assuming that 4 years after release it would be cheaper. It surprised me to see it at full price, and I didn't understand why was that.
Thanks for the clarification 👍
A mistake in policy: Not having cloud saves on their biggest titles i.e. Animal Crossing and Splatoon series. I morn the people who had broken or lost their Switch.
Except that Zelda, Mario and Smash are their biggest titles
Nintendo switch online is a mistake.
THIS it is literally a joke, a laggy crapfest on every single one of their titles, how in god's name can they charge us for this terrible online?!
But I like it -
“The virtual boy!! I could stop there.”

they have had a virtual eshop across their consoles for quite a few generationsnow. not once did purchases from one system carry to another. You could use the same account, but if you bought Metroid on your Wii it wasn't suddenly available on anything newer. and with discontinuing the eshop on older consoles meant you lost everything if it wasn't already downloaded and installed on the system....
It's called theft
I have this issue with PSN as well
You forgot the time they ported an old version of Metroid to multiple systems that had a console breaking cheat code intact, shoutout to Guru Larry on that one
The code wasn't even console breaking, that was a hoax that got spread around to a stupidly high number of people. It just crashed the emulator and/or required one to power cycle the console.
@@celestial_addy_archive You know there's videos of people entering the code on *consoles* not emulators. I should also point out that at least one of them actually did break a console while others at best were solved by resetting or pulling the plug. The console breaking was for one port where it actually did break the console. Larry's looked into each port mate, so he's got evidence to back it up, where's your evidence?
@@JargonMadjin Almost every version of the game, including releases on modern consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, aren't ports, but rather the original game ROMs being emulated by a Nintendo developed emulator.
@@kip258 Pretty sure there's one example in the video where it does fuck up the console so just goes to show how much you payed attention, lol
@@celestial_addy_archive Oh yes emulators, the thing Nintendo claims to hate since they took down multiple sites dedicated to archiving game ROMs, some of those games being otherwise lost to time. But it's totally not hypocritical for them to use emulation after claiming it to be taboo.
I literality forgot about the Wii U, took me a while to remember it
I just so happened to be playing Skyrim when I saw your comment
Watchin the homies play wii u right this second
I own one and I forget about it
The wiiu is actually better than the switch. If i could literally bring my wiiu with me the way i can bring my switch, i wouldn't gave gotten a switch. Wiiu virtual console is so awesome
I heavily disagree with how the Wii U is portrayed here and I didn't even own one. I feel like in 10 years people are going to act like there was zero community around this console, and that couldn't be farther from the truth. In my head the Wii U is still a recent console.
Yeah the full price 2 years later is stunning. It actually keeps me from buying games unless I buy the at launch.
Stuff like Mario Kart 8 which are ports from previous consoles and still pulling in $60 pushing close to a decade after original launch boggles my mind. If nothing else they make a good case for buying the physical version, getting your use out of it, and then selling it for nearly what you paid for it new. A friend of mine was doing that with PS4 games for years but Switch games you can play for longer and still sell for most of your money back.
Biggest nintendo mistake is the lack of price drops in older games
You forgot about the time when they ran a chain of love hotels
What
@@gemmaminer4818 In the 60s, Nintendo ran a chain of Love Hotels. Love Hotels are places in Japan, where people specifically go to for having sex because the walls are paper thin in their homes. That's what this emoji is.🏩
#1 is one of the reasons that Nintendo is one of the companies I will buy used games for. Not all their games. But ones that are notably older, with a notable price difference, or someone selling it in a private sale.
#1 mistake they want you to forget is adding themes early for the Nintendo switch
AAA WHY DID U REMIND ME. This would be the best thing ever. The fact a themes section is even in the settings riles me up lol
The games never going on sale is the most anoying by far I would buy more games if they did that
Just go to thier rewards website and you can strike a deal just giving an advic3
What about their shitty “Online chat” where you must use an app to talk to people through your phone?
Or just their Switch Online which you MUST be online to even use... defeating the purpose of the whole “portability” of the Switch.
Or what about getting rid of Club Nintendo for the garbage known as “Nintendo Rewards”?
Want me to keep going? What about bringing backwards compatibility only to scrap it, and then still charge high prices for older games?
Nintendo can be cool when they want, but they can also be ‘cruel’ as well and shit the bed from time to time.
but like any online service requires you to be... online
other than that i agree with what you're saying
Nintendo Rewards been decent for me, that means I can grab cheap games for free on the Switch.
I disagree with the online stuff because every company charge for it anyways but other than that yah i admit that other than these comments that complaining about stuff nintendo doesnt hold fault on...
@@darkdusty1937 But also when you are as large as Nintendo, everything to some extent is your fault due to how much direct and indirect power, authority, influence, and sway held.
@@ilikedota5 i just think its dumb people blame company but its really other company fault
Its like releasing something on mobile and blaming your phone cause it cant run properly because its not running properly on the system that its released on
I remember almost 10 years ago, I bought a copy of FF Crystal Chronicles I was like "Wow!! My first FF and it´s 4 player coop"... I was so excited I didn´t realize it needed 4 GBA to play coop... I live in a third world country almost no one had a GBA!!
Did you think you would just pass the GBA around? Lol
@@ScentSense The Advanced Wars games on the GBA had a versus mode(1v1, 2v2 and a 4 way free for all) that you would just pass the GBA to the next player. Not that improbable that many kids thought more games would have a mode like Advanced Wars did.
@@saleth9 fair enough, I loved that game and remember playing the crap out of it back in my childhood. I don't recall any mode like that but couldn't you technically just play single player on any game and pass the GBA around to make it "coop" lol?
I will never forget the WiiU, because an imitation of it will be a perfect system to manage presentations in some business meetings, manage songs lyrics and media from church worshipping apps, and more...
Nintendo have the right mentality when it comes to their shortcomings for the most part to be fair!
Take the 64dd for instance, you could say that's a massive failure for the company but the ideas and restrictions that came with that spurred them on in the right direction!
Mistake that needs to be mentioned though; they stopped treating the nintendo seal of approval with the level of respect it deserves!
Were they giving the countless shovelware on the Wii the Nintendo Seal of Approval? Lol
Not really though, after the n64 they came out with the game cube with smaller dvds.
@@JargonMadjin ..... That's what he's saying, he's saying they stopped respecting their seal of approval to the point where now basically all it means is that the game won't destroy your console. His point was it means nothing anymore.
The Jon con I have was effected on both of them now when my brother plays on it it goes crazy moving everywhere me and my brother have to practily fight it just to move to one place
Finally someone gets what the pain of the drift is
If its possible you could try to open it up and re-adjust the stick, but you could do more harm than good opening up something like that.
nintendo's greed and shitty online is what prevented me from getting a switch for myself on multiple occasions and i dont think i ever will get one
I’d like to say that I forgot about one of their failures but ambulances remind me of them a lot
Wii U Wii U Wii U

@@DaGlitchMaster Ha, jealous, I tried to make my own comment, but you certainly explain it in a better way than me, lol.😂
Where’s Nintendo online? It should have easily gotten on this list.
Nintendo doesn't want you to forget it. Nintendo wants to milk as much money out of it as possible without adding much and without improving servers.
Nintendo: joy con drift
Playstation: Hold my beer
My joycons have worked fine right up until the pandemic. So I’ve been stuck at home with a console I refuse to play because the drift makes everything impossible. I can’t even get new controllers because of the pandemic. I finally gave in, and took the thing apart and replaced the joystick entirely so I can finally play Animal Crossing. Fuck Nintendo for that, honestly. The joycons are a garbage product that cost too much.
00:23 I'm pretty sure that Nintendo games are still selling well without that free promotion.
Similar to the NES classic low stock, right before SSBU came out they released the official gcn controller adapter, but made just one batch and completely moved on without notice.
In regards to number 1: there are occasional sales, even for physical copies and if you wait a little while you can buy used on eBay for reduced prices
Honorable mention: Nintendo Online
I love Nintendo games but Nintendo themselves need to stop trying to make money off everything
The N64 controller. The SNES controller was amazing and most modern designs evolved from that. Oh but that wasn't good enough for Nintendo, so they decided to make that weird-ass thing. It didn't even look like it was designed for humans.
Their biggest mistake in my opinion is the lack of a virtual console and the way they handle old games in general. There is so much money to be made by the amount of people who want to play these old games
I dislike that you can't buy older generation games on the switch. On the 3DS eshop you could buy games that were out on the game boy color and older. But no such luck for the switch. I'd love to play older Pokemon and fire emblems games etc on the switch and I'm not really sure why they've never bothered doing it. The demand is definitely there and it would definitely be worth it for them financially.

Ultimate Bro Boobs man.
I liked the WiiU. It was no Wii by any standards, but it was a nice way to have the tv on while playing games. It was a nice touch imo. Plus it led the way for the Switch.
I loved my Wii U tbh. I loved Mario Party 10 and I had home brew on it so that I could play everything else. I played my Wii U more than the Switch. At this moment, my Switch is somewhere buried underneath something somewhere in my room. We NEVER use it. My daughter may dig it out when she goes to my sister in law house because her cousins like the Switch.
But I am also still upset about the Virtual Boy. It was the only gift I got for my bday and I actually saved up for it and my aunt met me halfway with the price. And man it was bad. I cried
I remember when my friend bought a 3ds for £200 (in the UK) and couldn’t even use the 3D because he had eye problems then they dropped the price and the 2DS
Last time I was this early Dota wasn't a card game
The Wii u was alright for me, but it does make me sad that it did bad, cause that was splatoon's launch system and it did well, at least enough for a sequel and massive fanbase and turning some of the main two characters into virtual popstars.
I love my 3ds and don't regret purchasing it the moment it came out. The amount of educational games I can get makes me happy.
**Ten Nintendo Mistakes They Want You To Forget**
The Joycon drift is the only mistake worth haunting Nintendo over.
And not the Virtual Boy?
I'm still 90% sure it's just the tipical Nintendo kids not know what the hell controller calibration is. I can recreate the "switch drift" quite reliably on a Wii U by just playing around with the sticks while booting the console or booting the game.
Yeah Nintendo always wait in the last year of there consoles to start releasing Nintendo select titles for cheaper...
I worked at GameStop for the NES situation. We were told to hype it up to customers at my store. 🙄
the lack of price drops are what stop me from getting a switch or other nintendo products. if i want to buy an old game to play with my friends,10 - 20 bucks, sure lets go, we can all jump on and play. but i dont have the money for full price old stuff, might as well buy the new games that maybe not all of us want to play. and other games are also more expensive then it is on pc like skyrim. no point for me to get one, maybe ill buy a used one in a few years from now
Their is also something else. Nintendo Online. Yes, its cheaper then most other online subscriptions. But, take animal crossing for example. You literally can't do like 40% of extra content and experiences in the game.
You forgot the “Nintendo PlayStation “
That was a huge mistake on their part!
Sony still pounding that Nintendo ass till this day
I'd say that public humiliating Sony and stabbing them on the back was the mistake, but to each their own.
@@annlamattina8707 no it was not... sony wanted too much control and profit
@@ArthropodSpidey I mean all big 3 are maintaining good sales, plus Sony makes TV's, Microsoft makes computers and phones, Nintendo just makes games and consoles, so of course Nintendo is going to have less graphically up to par games, but meh you are entitled to a shit take. Console dick sucking is always going to be a thing, so to each their own.
Nah man. The virtual boy was a piece of tech so far ahead of it’s time and was the basis for companies like oculus to make vr headsets that were actually good. Yes it was bad but it was ground breaking
As much as we hate paying full price for an old game, Nintendo is smartly protecting their brand by never devaluing it. Everyone that buys their games is fully invested in their purchase, and as a result they will often appreciate the games more since they paid so much for it.
The last thing Nintendo wants is to give their stuff away for $5-$10, only for people to buy it, play it for a hot minute, then never touch it again, telling all their friends, “I played that, it’s whatever.” They want you to buy into the $60 glory that is a Nintendo game, play the crap out of it to get your money’s worth, and tell everyone about it because you’ve invested so much of yourself into the purchase; sort of a sunk cost fallacy, although the games are often really good.
Sup, notification gang!
@Darth Revan No u.
Last time I was this early people liked EA!!! 🤣
Their “chat” system is ridiculous on the switch. You have to use a separate app and it only works for certain games. You end up just using discord, which isn’t ideal because then you can’t mix the game and chat audio.
I'm not that mad about the prices tbh. If that's the trade off for launching games in a completed state and not forcing microtransactions into them, so be it. Most AAA titles these days ought to start at $30 and increase the price of the base game with each patch until it works. Plus, since the prices don't drop, you can get a decent amount back selling used Nintendo games you don't want to keep on Ebay.
I dont think nintendo wants you to forget the wii u, yes it was poorly advertised, yes it sold poorly. But the wii u was a good console and a good contender against xbox 360 and ps3.
It had great first party games (no suprise there), the second screen was innovative and in some games enhanced the experience. Nintendo wii u was a speedbump for nintendo, but a mistake it was not....people did not regret buying a wii u, atleast i didn't.
Yeah keep lying to yourself bro, whatever helps you sleep at night
I love my Wii u...its where the switch idea was born....still play it today
@Darth Wheezius hell yeah
As a 12 year old who had saved up a year's worth of allowances and christmas and bday money I really heckin regret buying the wii u. Especially that the next year I would get an xbox 360 from fam and then a brand new xbox one that christmas
Nintendo is not letting us forget that they really really hate fan games on franchises with different gameplay/style that they don't bother making.
Meanwhile Sega hired fans to make Mania
@@JargonMadjin Cruel Irony.
Well Nintendo does remind us about the Virtual Boy in some of their own games and they also have Nintendo Selects which are games that sold well and Nintendo decided to lower the price of the game down to $20.
Nintendo have never listened to their fans. The only times they have tried and misunderstood have resulted in disaster, so they've returned to not listening.
"Noone except public figures uses their real names.".... I use my real name in games (Sometimes I use Amber Oakheart (my cats name)):S I love the friend code, or account name/# system in games, it allows multiple people to use the same user name.(There shouldn t only be 1 rachael or erica....)
Blizzard has an interesting idea: They allow multiple people to have the same name, but if you're looking for somebody specific, there's an optional number you can tack onto the end. The optional number at the end won't normally display so it's not sitting there looking silly. I've also seen systems where you can make a display name separate from the user name. There are better solutions out there than just typing in a bunch of random numbers.
@@logicalfundy Discord has a similar system with an actual name with 4 numbers at the end, and a display name which can be anything
Last time I was this early I still loved my xwife
Oooooooof
Removing all of the GameCube functionality from the second version of the Wii. It never affected me personally but it just makes me so angry, mainly because it directly affects a lot of games made for the system and not just the GameCube. Tons of games could use GameCube controllers as an input, FE: Radiant Dawn could import save data, and I'm sure there's more. Developers expected the GameCube part to be there, and they ripped it out.
Maybe it's just me, but I was so not okay with it when I found out.
Virtual Boy was good. It actually had some decent games. Plus, it's a great investment, considering how much it sells for on Ebay.
I mistakenly brought the Wii U. Thought it would be something like the Switch
Still a good console, its 3 consoles in one (Wii U, Wii, and Gamecube)
If you owned a Wii or a Gamecube, all your stuff would work on the Wii U.
It also has almost a full library of N64, Snes, and Nes games, and even some SEGA games.
To date the Wii U is still my favorite console.
I own a switch but only recently. I held off buying a switch because of its lack of backwards compatibility, and at launch the only hyped game it had was Breath of the Wild, which was already a Wii U game. Newer games to come to the switch were also re-releases of Wii U games-- Mario Kart 8, DK Country, Super Smash, etc.
To be fair it is the pre-cursor to the switch, the gamepad practically functions like the switch and you can play some games on the gamepad with the TV turned off, only thing is its not as portable and you have to stay near the console but yeah thats pretty much where it got its start!

Welp i can imagine why they did their Streaming creator program. They just didnt want people to spoil it for others. Like when you can simply watch gameplays why buy the game yourself right.
I don't think that's even a good enough excuse, if people don't want to see spoilers then they just don't watch the videos. Pretty simple really
This logic is kinda shit
No. It's your own fault for being spoiled by a game, that blame shouldn't be on the streamer. Nintendo wanted money.
Watching someone play a game and playing the game yourself aren’t the same thing. If you have siblings then you know this already.
Nintendo: It's been a few years since its release but were not gonna reduce the prices
Modders: Homebrews their switch and gets the game for free
Nintendo: You weren't supposed to do that
I'm always in the minority whenever anyone brings up the VirtualBoy. I enjoyed mine right up to the day it died (in 2009). Galaxy Pinball, Mario Tennis, and Wario Land. Enjoyed playing them all. Agree with the rest, though.
There is stick drift in literally every controller
I feel like I've watched this video before...
At number 10, if I look up a let's play or a speed run of a game, it's because I'm already playing it and kinda just want to compare and see what other people have thought about said game.
I love Let's Plays. I've bought a bunch of great games because of them, and also saved money on not buying others because watching my youtubers play them helped me realize that I wouldn't enjoy playing them
netflix on switch?
that would be cool, they have youtube on switch so why not

The WiiU may not have been the best console, but I sure loved it. I didn't see a huge problem with it at all. But than again I like almost all of Nintendo's stuff.
No. 1 isn’t really a mistake. If the quality is there and it has longevity, I don’t mind paying full price, granted they may make more sales on games over 2 years old with a 15 to 20 dollar price drop. But that’s just me. I’m no marketing expert.
Your assessment on the 3ds is wrong. At the time it came out, it was expensive to produce the tech they created then for the 3ds.
You cant compare the 3ds price and the switch price, they are two different system built differently, with different architecture.
The 3ds back then was a good technological leap! It was innovative!
But also dont forget that when they dropped the price, they gave free games to those who bought the system full price at release!

Me: ...............
Ok, I got two nintendo mistakes.
1- not having portuguese (br) in any of the games/consoles, even though many ppl here buy their games. And yes the market here is pretty significant.
2- not allowing online purchase in brazil. Ppl can't sell or buy the games online inside the country. You have to buy the games digitally or if you want the physical version, you have to order ot from outside the country. Paying a shit load for the game, plus the shipping fee
Just before they dropped the price of the 3DS, they announced that if you bought the device before the price drop, they would give you 20 free NES and SNES games. However, Walmart did a promo where you could buy the device for the discounted price early, so you would still get the games. That’s when I bought mine :D
