Spandau Ballet are one of Britain’s great iconic bands having sold over 25 million records, scored numerous multi-platinum albums and amassed 23 hit singles across the globe since their humble beginnings as a group of friends with dreams of stardom in the late 1970s. It wasn’t long before they became fully-fledged members of the iconic Blitz Club scene and established themselves as one of the super-groups of the 80s.
The band's classic line-up features brothers Gary and Martin Kemp on guitars, vocalist Tony Hadley, saxophonist Steve Norman and drummer John Keeble.
After two decades apart, the band reformed in 2009, embarking on a sold-out tour. In 2014 the band released a critically lauded documentary film ‘Soul Boys Of The Western World’ and returned to the studio recording three new tracks 'Steal', 'Soul Boy' and 'This Is The Love' for the anthology 'The Story'. ‘
This has been followed by the ‘Soulboys Of The Western World’ world tour wowing crowds and critics alike with the band making rapturous returns for the first time in 25 years to USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and parts of mainland Europe.

Every time I heard classic oldies such as this it give me goosebumps. They music of this day cause me to wonder if I am still living in the same world I used to back then.

im 16 and i like all sorts of genre of music heavy rock,soft rock,newwave,pop,powerballads,love songs.etc and thanks to my parents i listen to such MEANINGFUL music,that peolpe would enjoy not forget about it in 20 years.Artists back than had so much passion when they made thier music.I just want th artists of today to take example of the artists back from the 60s,70s,80s and some of 90s and look at how they didnt write music for only money but for the love of music.

Spandau Ballet is a British band formed in London in the late 1970s. Initially inspired by the New Romantic fashion, their music has featured a mixture of funk, jazz, soul and synthpop. They were one of the most successful bands of the 1980s, achieving ten Top Ten singles and four Top Ten albums in the UK between 1980 and 1990. The band split acrimoniously in 1990 but announced their reunion in March 2009, complete with a tour that began in October 2009.
This song came out the year I got married...and we're still married and madly in love. All the elements of a great song: emotive lyrics, top musicians, soulful singer, plus great video.

80's was a brilliant time for me too, but I followed the American Soul scene, artists such as Phylis Hyman, Jean Carne, Angela Bofill, Teena Marie, Sister Sledge, Brandi Wells, Cheryl Lynn, Chaka Khan, Gwen McCrae, Kenny Burke, Gene Dunlap, Glen Jones, Freddie Jackson, Tom Brown, Roy Ayres, Bobby Womach, Lou Rawls, and many more, Groups like Frankie Beverley & Maze, Ingram, Kleeer, Brass Construction, Band AKA, Mtume, Mystic Merlin, MFSB, Side Effect, Lonnie Liston Smith and still dozens more, with UK artists like Mica Paris, Jody Watley, Jaki Graham, David Joseph, Omar, Paul Hardcastle, UK Bands like Light of the World, Hi Tension, Level 42, Soul II Soul, Beggar & Co, Incognito albeit not the original lineup but are still going strong today from back in 1979, Sorry Sara but maybe you didn't listen to these, being a Soul & JazzFunk Club Dj we never bought and played what was then called New Romantics music, yes it was very popular in the 80's with all the glamour, hype and video's, but when you listen to that music today that was produced in the 80's names such as Spandau Ballet, Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Ah Ah, The Human League it just sounds so corny and you couldn't and wouldn't play it in a night club, whereas the Soul scene is timeless and still sounds good today.

Yeah, there's something magical about this video. Besides it being such a hauntingly beautiful song, the men are all forever frozen in time in their youth and beauty.
It is rare that ALL of the men look SO good. They're beautifully dressed and groomed and so perfect in their presentation that I find myself watching and listening again and again.👍💖
I believe this is the best thing a band can achieve, to make a song, and 20-something years later to have people say they miss that time when they hear that song again.

Of all those 80s UK "nice hair" bands, these guys were the best...excellent, SOULFUL singing, memorable melodies (not just pieces of melodies), and well-constructed songs. Most of that stuff I can't listen to anymore EXCEPT for these lads.
