I’ve had the new 32” 825 pro sport for 3 weeks now coming from the 32” 725 pro sport, I set it up absolutely identically. Same weights, same comb position, same balance point, it’s identical weight at 9lbs for the old and new (on my scales) but you’re absolutely spot on that it feels a lot more pointable and nimble than the 725. I’ve shot 5 registered shoots now and doing well, seems to pattern much better than the old pro too 👍🏼 lovely looking gun too

Handled one in the shop recently. Haven’t shot it yet. Had a 725 Prosport for years and loved it. You’re right Lloyd. It does feel different. Livelier and the weight difference is noticeable. Looks amazing in the hand. Will have a test with it and if it shoots as good as I think it might, I’ll be having one. Great review. Thanks Lloyd.

Cheers for this, Ive been looking forward to this one for a while. I had the opportunity to handle a demo gun (standard sporter) and get eyes on the prosport. The one that I handled felt fantastic and I agree that the engraving on the prosport is very nice.
I like that Browning have released several different variants at the same time (black edition, prosport, etc) to give people some variety of choice. As you mentioned if they are mechanically reliable and the finish holds up, I think Browning are onto a winner. Cheers.

Great video Lloyd you were spot on regarding it reminding you of a certain beretta I was debating buying a 725 pro sport but have known people that have had problems with them regarding pitting in the firing pins etc Thanks from Belfast

Not even close to what we get across the pond as a 825. Quite a superb upgrade we can not get in America. But at least we get a cardboard box to go with it. Nice video.

I picked up my 32 last week, it’s 1/2 an ounce shy of 9lbs when balanced on the pin. It was pretty barrel heavy without the addition of some stock weight . Feels steady but quick enough on Skeet.
    I think I’m going to like it👌

Must admit it looks very lovely. Another good gun from Browning. But I'll be sticking with my 22 year old Browning Ultra XTR which is an amazing gun. I bought it in May 2014 and have shot better and better with it over the years winning tons of prizes here in France at the Ball Trap events every year and last year I got two lots of 75 points at the Confolens DTL set up so I have no complaints at all.

  • @Chris_P_Bacon0788

I really like the slimmed down action and engraving on the 825. Nothing to do with the fact that it’s a Browning, however it’s the only gun so far which I’m considering swapping my Ultra XS Pro for (just waiting for my local to stock a demo gun).
I’d seriously consider getting the forend re-checkered if I did, I think the Browning signature lets it down and has a cheap/tacky feel to it.
    Brilliant reviews as always!

Would be great to see some of the main differences between some mid priced competition Browning's or Beretta's against the budget Pro12 or Yildiz Pro. Is it just historical value that commands these price tags or is it actually RnD and manufacturing that dictate prices on both budget and mid ranged guns?

The 825 seems to have lost some "Browning" in it's design if that makes sense. It's bound to be a fine shotgun because it's a Browning though.
For me, i'd like to have seen a traditional Browning tramline rib with a white Bradley bead at the muzzle with a white centre bead but that's just my personal preference.
It'll be a seller for sure.

I found the Safety comment funny who use them and that would be Me as I don't own a gun Hunting and I will likely get my Beretta 694 out next year on Wild Iowa Pheasant's. I also feel because I am a Hunter not having 3 inch chamber is a mistake in a Hunting Gun or Sporting Gun. I see nothing wrong with High End Competition guns with 2 3/4 inch chambers as they will never go afield.

    • @lloydyp

So you have the xs,bl the new 688 and money back in your 3:24 pocket .base invictus 694 and at that price point some serious second hand kit .I didn't hear the 'I wouldn't hesitate recommending this ' so guessing the 688 might be a touch in front . Still a huge improvement on the 725 great video bud

    Hi Lloyd
I hope you had a great Xmas & New year.
    All the best for 2025
As you know, I am a 725 pro sport shooter
    Is the forend slimer ?
I really like the engraving as I believe the 725 pro was lacking something
So in your professional opinion that 825 if better then the 725 ?
    And out of 10 ?
I will be at the BSS on Friday if you have time for a beer
    Thanks
    Graham

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  2 дня назад

The forend is not slimmer. Better is subjective, it’s better built, prettier, and very different. But better depends on how well you get on with the 725 as it is.
