I've seen people who have been doing RUclips for years and their videos aren't as entertaining, informative, and to the point as yours are! Hard to believe you've only made 2 videos! 👌👍
Your editing skills and use of transitions are awesome. I will be using this video as a "how to" guide in my Video Production class. The thought, planning, effort, and concern for detail in the production of this video is appreciated. Keep up the great work.
This guy is completely amazing. I don't chuckle nor do I smile much watching RUclips. But this guy made my day. Full of energy. I will be looking forward for more videos.
Thank You Michael. My husband always promised to show me how to build and use tools. I loved watching your first video. I won't ever have the experience of buildings he passed away 2 weeks ago of cancer. He wasn't as kind or patient as you but I love him. You made me feel better. Thanks Mike I needed that. I will be your biggest fan
Dude .... I'm in tears !!! Easy to understand AND easy to do !!! Your videos have high entertainment value. You have no idea how much good Karma you are getting from the knowledge you are giving others. ....Thank You !!! Peace from Dallas Texas.
snowpaw360 to be honest, I'm not really sure. I know you cant use regular bricks or stone to make a fireplace because of risk of explosion. I imagine moisture will be in the mortar or concrete even after it is cured. But if you are putting a heat barrier between the grill and the concrete and the concrete does not reach 212 degrees, you'll be fine.
Just found you 2 days ago, and I'm psyched to see what you make from now on. I'm a granite countertop guy who has long thought of doing concrete, and your method makes it so much easier,
I am in precast concrete and cast stone bussiness for last twenty years and I have done it all but still I learned from your detail explanation. thank you, you'r the best.
Yes! You've shown me what I was doing wrong before, and now I've got it right. Also, you obviously have fun doing the work and making the videos. No macho posturing to distract from the solid construction and artistry. Thank you!
Michael - the reason why your videos are good is because of your personality. Fun, but you speak with confidence and authority. The technical side of things (lighting, sound, editing) are all good, but without your presentation they mean very little. You started your RUclips presence STRONG. Off topic - love your workshed and considering something similar for myself. Any tips?
I literally know nothing about building with anything but you're fun to watch👍 makes me want to learn how to do stuff like this or fun little projects.
Can't wait for the next videos. You've given me so many ideas in just two videos. My wife might be annoyed with all the concrete projects to come from this lol.
Building an outdoor bar/grill on the patio, I've watched so many how-to videos for curved concrete countertops, but yours is, by far, the best; simple tools, inexpensive supplies & you make it look so easy!! Glad I waited. Best thing ever; "take it one step further"!! Off topic, did you build the guitar body? I saw plans & finished body hanging, any chance you could do a video for that?
Oh hell yes we’re going to do a guitar 🎸 build video!!! My niece and I built that guitar last summer together and it was so much fun! Fender Jazzmaster 😉👍🏻
I've watched almost all of your videos over the last couple days and absolutely love them. I really want to make a bar similar to this for my deck, since I have a few pallets laying around that I've been trying to figure out some sort of project to use them with.
I get so pumped up watching your vids. Can't wait to start my project this summer. Thanks for the video, so clean, helpful, creative and entertaining. HGTV should get you a job :)
I just found your videos today and WOW. I have had ideas for DIY projects here at my house. I could never come up with a way to do any of it in a timely, or cost effective way. The 2 big items on my list was: 1) Extending kitchen counter top space, and maybe even upgrade what was there. 2) build a coffee table that I like. I guess I don't have to tell you what I will be doing in the near future. THANKS and like other followers I will take pictures. Once again THANKS
So it appears I am not the only one running to the depot for materials after watching your videos. Dude you are awesome and you make it look so easy and fun. I'm straight up making one of these because of you. Thank you!
They seriously need to invent a “10 thumbs up” button BECAUSE I WOULD TOTALLY SMASH THAT BUTTON RIGHT NOW!!!! Lol Thank you so much for the comment that made my day! 😂
with just two videos I'm subscribed! absolutely love how you pour the concrete. your inspiring me to take the leap with my kitchen sink counter top. thank you for the techniques and God bless you with more ideas and videos. I'm and older lady and I think this could be the way I can finally have a solid pretty counter top that I can afford.
Michael, show us how to make a table or counter top that is Football field inspired! Use that sticky foam tape to lay out the gridiron. Pour in green colored mix. Fill with white epoxy or white mix when you pop it out. Alumni can fit into their college or NFL inspired home decorations. Can work for NHL, MSL or Hoops
You are truly talented Michael! You've inspired me to stop watching 'how too' videos on... making videos... and to get out there and just do it! But also..... to make a counter top! which is something I've wanted to do for ages! Thanks for the awesome content! In one of your clips I've seen a countertop with river stones inset..... I'm guessing also using epoxy to infill.... Would love to learn how to do that.
please tell me why anyone would downthumb this video. it makes no sense, none at all. this was an awesome video. the only reason I can think of is people who are so jealous that they aren't getting as many views as this guy is for so few video's created. nothing else makes sense. the thing is though, he deserves the views and subs because he is entertaining and is teaching useful stuff and makes it look fun while he is doing it. stop the downthumbs haters, you are are so petty, it is sad.
I never thought about using grout and WD-40 this way. To think you could take this a step further and put a dye in the concrete mix, do a light sand and seal it and it would look almost like etched marble. So much inspiration in this video for real! Thanks. Great video, and to think you did all this in just a tiny little shed while other youtubers are doing things like this in a huge fancy entire workshop. Gives hope to the weekend warriors without much, definitely worth a sub from me.
Starting at 27 seconds when you say “adding curves to your...” you show a curved counter top with river rock in it. Will you please show us how you did that?
I would be worried about drilling a hole closer to the edge of the cutout. Using the washer as a clip the way he did places the hole further from the edge.

Michael, might have been asked already but can the same mortar mix be used for a 6 ft long table top for an outdoor table? Got a good sturdy 4x4 base made, ready to start the top. Thanks again. Keep the videos coming!
Not sure if you've done the top yet but yes this is 7000psi, I would recommend a couple of braces in the middle of your base to really make sure there are no issues, or you could toss in some rebar just for the extra strength factor.
You are awesome! I am doing the counter top for my outside kitchen. Thanks for all the tips and materials used...I did not even know they existed! HGTV is missing out!
This guy is the best I've ever seen. Get your own TV show. One question why not just drill through the sink edge and use the washers instead of using it like a clamp just getting only a corner of the edge? Seems it would be more secure. Either way awesome job
I've seen people who have been doing RUclips for years and their videos aren't as entertaining, informative, and to the point as yours are! Hard to believe you've only made 2 videos! 👌👍

Oh my god Brian! Thank you so much!!! I can’t tell you how much that means to me! I’m so glad your not using me as a “how-not too” lol 😂
I noticed the professional editing. Its AWESOME.

cheers my friend. because of you i'll be doing my kitchen counters, a grill and coffee table. please keep up the good work and keep inspiring others.
Oh man a grill sounds like a great idea.
Careful with the grill...any moisture in the concrete will cause it to crack or explode.
@@ChfBgTlk Do you mean let the concrete fully cure, and/or the concrete probably needs to be sealed? (or i guess keep rain out of it)
snowpaw360 to be honest, I'm not really sure. I know you cant use regular bricks or stone to make a fireplace because of risk of explosion. I imagine moisture will be in the mortar or concrete even after it is cured. But if you are putting a heat barrier between the grill and the concrete and the concrete does not reach 212 degrees, you'll be fine.
Some sort of thermal barrier/break will solve the issue. Steel or firebrick. There’s a solution to almost everything.
Keep them coming Michael! The most informative and entertaining DIY blog I've seen so far.

Someone has probably already said this, but please do a video on how you do the smaller concrete stuff, such as that bowl. thanks
You got it!👍🏻😉
Yes! I want to know how to make a few of them. I totally look forward to seeing your tutorial on that.
The bowl looked cool. Maybe a planter/pot too.
This man is Ryan’s toy reviews but for adults!! He is great!
Lol 😂 thank you so much!
Hahaha as a father of two I thought the same exact thing. Agreed!!!

I’m in the middle of renovating my kitchen. I watched your first video and was trying to figure out how to mount a sink, now I know.
You are the fooken king of concrete counter tops. That molding for the edge. Brilliant.

A wet sand and some epoxy coating would make this really pop
Oh hell yeah! Video idea!
Will resin/epoxy adhere to the concrete? Which would you do first?
You make this look so simple and it motivates me to do something fun for the Man Cave! Thank You
I want to see how you are going to connect the water supply to the bar sink faucet. Man the top looks Great and easy the way you done.
Easy just dig a pex line underneath the permafrost level and tie everything in the harder part is proper plumbing without new taps haha
Outstanding I will use this video this month. But, How can I seal the surface so food or spills wont stain the surface?
most home improvement stores sell cement sealer, and should have it available for concrete countertops.
I will be dropping a new video soon on how to seal a concrete countertop 😉👍🏻

Would it be OK to drill through the sink to mount it?
Might make alignment more difficult?
$200 and you have a $1000 outdoor bar
I would be worried about drilling a hole closer to the edge of the cutout. Using the washer as a clip the way he did places the hole further from the edge.

It was nice meeting and spending a few minutes with you today @ the home Depot Mike
Best DIY show on RUclips so fun and accurate and well explained - likable
I see your T-shirt says Fender and it looks like you have some guitar templates hanging on your wall. Do you make guitars? Do you play?
I do play David but not well lol 😂. I have made one guitar haha
Great timing on these videos as I'm getting ready to do the concrete counter tops on my outdoor kitchen this spring.
How did your countertop turn out? What did you do about the difference in depth for the faucet attachment?
I’m digging it. Thinking about a similar project for an outdoor kitchen minus the transformers
You are a wonderful teacher - detailed and succinct, thorough instructions and demonstrations, with the necessary tips and knowledge to make a novice have the confidence to try this. Thanks Micheal. I’ve been wondering what I was going to do for a new countertop. Now I know.
Thank you so much Dwayne!
This is so cute! Do you plan to show how to do different molds. The fact this is done before the day is over is awesome!
