@@CleverAndChic thank you! Could you do another preppy style video? And a Sloane Ranger video? I loved your first prep video and miss it! And British prep is so good. I know your psych take on both of those who’d be gold!
Okay, as someone who's trying to create his own style, I've never come across someone making videos like these for men. I honestly couldn't thank you enough for including men in these videos. Especially showing chic style for men. Men's fashion has been the exact same for way too long. And I always wanted to know how to dress differently while still wearing basics. THANK YOUU!
I really like the editing and style of the video, its fast paced and artistic at the same time. While not catching to much attention with the video clips and texts it's pleasant to listen to and watch.
Sometimes we do have to change our style and fake ourselves in order to fit in. It's business world, need certain identity to be taken serious by prospect, colleague and employee.
Could you do about the tv show Sucession? Surprisenly, even through its a show, the stylist went off and helped on the narrative. The daughter gets the most fashionable, going through a transformation from a unplanned look with tangled hair trying to prove she doesnt need legacy and is a background worker of politicians to the Old Money daughter heir with brands and short hair and even confidence of her bodytype. The palette changes too The chosen favourite son, its the opposite. He isnt vain but has the look polish. Then season 2 he simply reuses the same clothes, unkept hair and beard. He goes from lighter and elegant tones to gray and chosen randomly looks. The other two sons are pretty distant and without personality, even in their clothing and colours like they are figurants. The youngest uses brands and suits all the time but it doesnt have power in the look or himself. The oldest halfbrother dresses unfitting in all episodes
Oh yes! And how Tom tries so hard to use fashion to fit in but just can’t get it right (‘What’s that jacket stuffed with? Your hopes and dreams?’) and Gerri’s power suits and dainty rings…
@@CleverAndChic your voice is great, can’t even hear your septum. Your intonation, on the other hand, with exaggerated falling inflection is a conscious derivative dialect choice.
Honestly I’ve just always spoken this way, even as a child. I’ve tried speech therapy when I was younger but it just is what it is at this point in my life, if you don’t like it I completely understand and don’t expect it
That's the irony of it. Bateman spends a lot for his clothes, skin care, even his business card. But he never really stands out. He is always mistaken for someone else. It says a lot about capitalism. We live in such a hedonistic society that asks you to buy stuff you do not really need and in the process you lose your individuality/
I really enjoyed your video. It was quite aesthetic and detailed. I am still not a very good English speaker, so is it that Patrick is not being himself and just tries to be someone else which is displayed through fashion and that is something that drives him crazy?
It depends on how you see him, but I'd say yes.. that is a good way to understand Patrick. He describes himself essentially as not human, but he puts on a "mask" to fit in
I love your videos especially the one with Spencer from pretty little liars and Jisoos x Dior video. I’ve watched American psycho before and never realized how fashion influenced the movie was! Armani is one of absolute favorite brands and I love how heavily it influenced the movie. As a man transitioning to his professional part of his life it’s refreshing watching a men’s fashion analysis video. I would absolutely love it if you could do Daniel Craig’s James Bond movies!
Another fantastic analysis! After learning what I do from this, it gives me more of an appreciation for the movie. Also, I miss your voice. Will you be returning for newer ones, despite the critics?
After reading Bret’s last book “White”, I’ve discovered that Patrick Bateman character was heavily influenced by Julian Kaye! he’s the REAL Paul Allen…… If you’ve liked American Psycho universe and aesthetic, I highly recommend watching American Gigolo ✨
I think that unfortunately Patrick is never trying to be something but he is constantly nothing Style and life is like a pyramid in my opinion and the background often help to establish what is a men Patrick is weirdly not narcissist in fact he reflect everybody in the same time I personally dress in suit I actually do wearing leather shiny gloves and all those things but only to be different of other because in my opinion I deserve it and I know that only me make myself happy by treating myself good and why I’m saying this it pop culture now using Patrick image as sigma like the perfect men that his only viewing himself when he is not actually not at all that he is strong and he is the natural predator to other human but he is just weakness because in the end he get defeated by himself every day But Patrick is kinda lost in his head he don’t know who he really his he don’t know why he doing things geez I’m not even sure he have the competence to work where he work I think that having his background would be complementary for the movie because we just learn nothing about him he is nothing and he add nothing even his action have possibly never happen He exist without existing that is a ultra complex way to mean nothing the total void I say that Patrick Bateman have never existed and in fact the movie is made in a way so the viewers become the psycho in the end nothing happened or did it ? Plus if you observe carefully he take a lot of drugs and he alway surrounded by people who do maybe that is why he wearing sunglasses inside to cover his eyes
True. Impressed by riches and desiring to purchase that which makes them appear rich. Whilst the true wealthy avoid much of the tacky material props and rather continue to funnel capital into appreciating assets to preserve/growth wealth.
His clothes didn't make Patrick. His clothes, accessories, hair, style were borderline an uniform... You couldn't tell him from his coworkers hence his desire to "fit in"... The only one who stood out was Lewis.
couldn't you have spoken just normally. Got intrested and this voice literally ruins the video. edit: okay your voice is alright you do you, But the music in this video is obnoxious, never use it again please.
Great work but i promise you dont need to try to sound “sultry” to get views. Please use your normal voice/intonation. It’ll make the content of your video standout more rather than how you’re delivering it
the irony is that the person making this video is just like bateman. that gross forced voice and the obsession with fashion. not to mention the likely parallels with skincare

If each “Yuppy” is a reflection of themselves - then why is it that “the clothing wears Patrick” yet the others are merely expressing their taste ?
The music is intrusive and unnecessary. Sorry, jmo. But it detracts from your wonderful narration.
