I dare'nt get my hopes up for TES6 because I know BGS didn't make this, but if it is made to this level of care and quality BGS will have gone a long way toward repairing their crumbling reputation.

I don't like the Creation Club, but this mod and the East Empire one are little jewels. A shame that for me to use it I have to pay for it. I would rather donate directly to Kinggath, which I know the quality of his mods since using Sim Settlements for Fallout 4, on which I have based my Jules Let's Roleplay on Twitch, than go on the Bethesda Creation Club. No way, we got ANOTHER series before Elder Scrolls VI 😂 Bethesda, what are you doing? Give our man the next game already! Oh, realised something... Helvana sounds like Kalyna from JA3 😮 It's been a while, tho, so maybe it was just my imagination
That's actually pretty common when you start a new game or a new DLC. You meet a lot of new people with a lot of things to say to you. Actually one of my favourite parts to be honest :)
@@daveh322 I think you're missing the whole point of this dlc/mod. Bards do more than just sing and play instruments. In the base game they talk about what being a bard is and what it means, but only live up to a couple of their supposed skills. They never really involve you in being a bard yourself, only sending you out on the typical clear area/retrieve item quests, ie mercenary work. This aims to make the bards college a true faction of bards who not only sing and play instruments but also tell stories, crack jokes and witty insults, dance, and engage in diplomacy or deals as a middle man. While also engaging the player in all these aspects of being a bard since the base game didn't. Singing is only a fraction of being a bard.
There are more choices than seen at first glance, aren't they? There is a pointer at the bottom of the scroll bar of the answer options... Maybe the "optimal choices" were hidden there below the bottom of the dialog window...?
To be fair about Leonard's clothing, he's outfit is one of a ruler, not really a bard. Maybe that was a bad way for Sledrig to say "you're over dressed for the Winking Skeever."
Not even a Bethesda “creation” but it’s miles better and approaches official dlc level. If only this mod had voice acted lines from the Vanilla NPCs instead of using generic lines.
@@GophersVids That’s fantastic! Also I now realize my original comment makes no sense. I was referring to East Empire Company Expansion. At the start of the video Elisif was just saying vanilla lines which is a little jarring.
Curious... who voices Sledrig? He sounds familiar as if he was voiced by an actual voice actor, or at the very least someone with a very good recording equipment and good acting skills.
Think you forgot the scroll wheel is used in Skyrim, there were probably more dialogue options in the Bards quests that are hidden until you scroll, don't blame ya tho, its been a while. Great to see Leonard back
The East Empire company needing premission to set up operations in Solitude seems a little silly. I feel like you should be able to skip asking premission in Solitude and Windhelm. As they're already offically operating there.
I think it's more about them being able to survey and catalogue locations, as well as striping them of resources. Think of it as a company having the rights to sell a resource, vs. a company that has the right to mine a resource on sovereign land.
Well it's hard to get new lines from the original voice actors, so you'd have to get a VA to redo ALL the lines for each NPC you needed to interact with. And seeing as Bethesda themselves don't even do that when they add new content, I'm not shocked mods aren't either. I mean I'd love it if they did, but I understand why they don't.
I really don't like that this expansion takes up mod space on console. There's no indication of telling how large the file size is on the mod page in-game, either (before you buy it). And then it kinda lies... I made space for 730Mb (or whatever the number was in my menu), but it still won't install, and I've seen mention that's it's actually close to 900Mb? Awesome job as always, BGS. I'm looking forward to watching this series once I've gone through it, so I'll see it in about a year or so, perhaps...
@@acyour It took me a minute to realise what you were saying because technically it is a Paid Mod AND it's also DLC ... so I was a little confused. But I got there eventually :) And yeah, if consoles have a max limit on mod space, it may be a big problem if Bethesda are selling content this size on those consoles. And honestly at this point, they've blurred the lines between official DLC and mods, so I am not sure why it even needs such a limit. Perhaps it is a console restriction? Even so, it's still Bethesda's problem to fix if they want to sell mods on that system.
@@GophersVids I think the current working theory is that the limit is to accommodate the older Xbox's. Starfield is Series only, and I believe that limit is 100Gb. On Skyrim, 5Gb isn't much if you really want to overhaul the whole game. Skyland + LODs is 1.4Gb, and that's just your landscape and buildings upgrade. If Bards College is actually closer to 900Mb - not the 720Mb I see in my game - then that's close to another full gig. It's ridiculous. I'm not against paid mods in theory, Legacy of the Dragonborn and Sim Settlements 2 fundamentally change/add to the game in ways the official DLC often doesn't. However I discovered with East Empire paying up front for a mod creates a level of expectation. I expect the paid mod to work with my load order and I expect there to be patches to make it work which the former point isn't really fair. Sadly I have never really dived into the East Empire mod because I like my load order it's stable and "modernized" the game. So it's a weird feeling to have paid for something I can't use in a game I consistently play. I'm not going to play hot potato to figure out why the Winterhold east empire location is a weird zone that makes everything but the sky box disappear (had the same problem with Tundra Homestead) nor why I'm not able to generate passive income after unlocking the ability to do so. KingGath has given me hours of entertainment in Fallout 4 so I don't mind writing East Empire off as giving him more money however the experience left a sour taste so I won't be paying up front for any future mods. Should have learned that lesson with the anniversary upgrade's Tundra Homestead and Myrwatch in all honesty.
@@Legacyartist I have given 100s to different mods thru out the years. But that is my choice. I used Sims 2 once but I like making my own settlements but I used it for the story. So I would just made the Drive in as a Sims Settlement. And I stopped that playthrough because of how it wants to take over the playthrough My true feeling on KingGath is that he has made a company that it's business model is to suck on the tite of Bethesda. They should stop modding all together and become a true game studio and make their own game.

And I stopped that playthrough because of how it wants to take over the playthrough
My true feeling on KingGath is that he has made a company that it's business model is to suck on the tite of Bethesda. They should stop modding all together and become a true game studio and make their own game.
