One thing to note is that no standard spells have the Drain Attribute effect, and so Repairing the Orrery is the easiest way (other than being an Orc) to get the Drain Attribute effect for spell making. You can really mess with enemies using that. I've also occasionally had to create a Drain Attribute on Self spell in order to do Namira's quest because I've raised my Personality too much.
Yeah, even if you can't do stuff like draining endurance enough to make busted spell like hoped, the sheer fact that short quest lets you get drain/fortify attribute options for spells is great
I always thought the bandit part was lame and i wasn't to excited for the ending. but after finishing it and seeing the stars i was honestly very surprised and whenever i was doing the mages guild quest-line i would pop in every so often just to see it.
@@ABardsBallad I just watched a special friend and the morag tong videos. Really enjoyed them! I haven't done either questline so definitely a good watch. I just beat the main campaign for the first time. Will probably watch your main quest compilation tomorrow.
As someone who stumbled my way through Oblivion, I definitely thought this was part of the Mages Guild quest, and didn’t even remember doing this until seeing this video - but I do remember being really in awe at the result, like how is THIS tucked inside the game ✨ after I completed it, I never went back!
Challenge Run - Imperial Tourist. Commoner walks into Imperial City and does all the Quests in just Clothes (Maybe enchanted) and Basic Spells. Gets somehow involved in everyone elses Problems. Also has a Gambling Problem and goes to the Arena inbetween Quests + has to rent a Room at the Tiber Septim Hotel every Night
In my household, there's an inside joke that this expansion prompted. Imagine a golden retriever trying to say the word "Orrery": Orororororeery. This was also a bit of a homage/reference to the Observatory in Redguard. They even call it out as such in-game
Would've liked a player home in winterhold in skyrim that you had to rebuild a crumbling ruin that turns out to be a really old nordic orrery that requires masser and secunda miniatures to be forged from moonstone, stalhrim, ebony and dwarven metal at the lunar forge and a sun object to be forged from dwarven metal, stalhrim, moonstone diamonds and a centurion dynamo as the finishing embellishments. Could even have simply displayed a global map of nirn as it is in the 4th era as one of its functions (must have completed the quest revealing the unseen within mzulft.)
Any plans on longer videos, like 45 minutes+? Your voice is perfect background noise to fall asleep to. (a compliment considering i have a hard time falling asleep xD). Love ya bro!
Absolutely! I’m trying to bring them back, just with all these short DLCs it’s been tricky to get long form content out of them! Long form Challenge Run coming out soon!
@ All in all, the Khajitie quots are the best. Damn I love my cat-folk. But anywho, it doesn’t need be a version of goodbye. Because it depends on the situation.
Like many problems that can be meme'd; this quest is bugged on the timing and enemy theming. Without the unofficial patch, you get this immediately after entering the last sewers after Uriel's end. What was SUPPOSED to happen was waiting until you either hit level 19 or get Wizard rank in the Magic Academy. The four camps to find the special dwemer items are supposed to be guarded by Marauders 5 levels above you no matter what current level and kill, or pickpocket but that's also bugged, the Marauder bosses holding the keys to the chest holding the items, bypassing the nightmare of hard or very hard locks. You are also supposed to have message pop up of the Orrey being rebooted after taking one of the daily in-lore powers, which is 26 hours in game, was to be 24 but blame Miren's bad coding of quest logging. Canon wise, 26 hours is done by something of Dagon doing time magic to halt Nirn's counter attacks of his invasion?
Starting in the sewers (or when first loaded) was definitely intentional, though it might not have been the original plan. The other mini-DLCs are the same, and the unofficial patches don't change that.
I've always head-canoned that instead of Morrowind, it's Hammerfell that the Dwarven Artifact parts came from. Cause, for starters, why are the Bandit camps that the Parts are being held at closer to the Hammerfell border rather than the Morrowind border. Secondly, the only other Orrery in Tamriel is in Hammerfell, so it would make more sense for the parts to come from there, cause it could be spare parts from Hammerfell.
Ngl I was the kind of kid that bought the horse armor dlc My mom forgot to log her credit details out from my xbox account And i bought all the oblivion dlc's😂 She got so mad she threatened calling the cops But ngl It was worth it😂😂😂
This is the only dlc that is unavailable for me for purchase in the Microsoft store. But I do know I played it on the 360, so not sure why it's not available now.
This DLC was of such lackluster caliber, that it literally felt like a modder's first quest mod, utterly disappointing. I've owned 5 copies of Oblivion (our xbox 360 ate 3 of those copies ), made countless characters, done countless playstyles and I have never felt like this DLC added anything of worth to the game or any of these characters. Being of such insignificance, it honestly felt like a slap in the face. More of an annoyance to have this note stuck in my inventory until I popped the pimple that was this quest. A thing I do note is, I do not typically like temporary buffs. Much less so when scrolling to them is a pain, since we couldn't delete useless or outdated spells in this game. So after a while navigating the menus to get to various spells was cumbersome, even with the tabs and the hotkey trick ( using one of the spells on the hotkey wheel and going into the menu would automatically scroll down to that spell, regardless of it's placement on the list ). That isn't to say I never used buffs, only that there were literally dozens of better buffs to prioritize...
@@ABardsBallad It is beautiful, just wish they went more in depth with it. It also has some interesting implications about the Dwemer and their interest with the celestial bodies, since they had many cities and structures underground, it begs the question- were their similar structures such as the Orrery elsewhere or was this the only one and if so, why was that?
glad you covered this minor thing I pretty much forgotten about
Haha I hear ya! It’s definitely more of a background DLC that’s for sure lol

That’s really cool actually I had no idea! Appreciate the info on that one!
Nice job including the out-of-game introduction letter!
I definitely thought it deserved some spotlight! A very cool blurb!
@ABardsBallad There are similar blurbs for Thieves Den, Vile Lair, and Mehrunes Razor whenever you get around to covering them 🙏🙏
I always thought the bandit part was lame and i wasn't to excited for the ending. but after finishing it and seeing the stars i was honestly very surprised and whenever i was doing the mages guild quest-line i would pop in every so often just to see it.
It's beautiful!
The bandit part is definitely underwhelming, and totally agreed on the stars, the Orrery is stunning!!
Good video Bard :) Short and sweet. Absolutely gorgeous little area.
The completed Orrery reminds me of the one in Aughra's house in the movie "The Dark Crystal".
I appreciate it! Yeah definitely a beautiful little spot in the game! :)
Completely forgot the Orrey existed
Honestly I can understand that 😂 it does get overshadowed by all the other expansions IMO
It's like the eye of magnus in skyrim, once you leave you just forget it
Same lmao
It is quite forgettable!
I never did it due to the bug of it not working
I personally liked this minor dlc. Anything to give me a minor buff 💪🏻
No idea why I didnt know about this. Played Oblivion since launch, got literally every other DLC
It’s certainly a more obscure one 😂 the Orrery is pretty tucked away too in the university
Another great vid 👌🏽
I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
Thanks for releasing this video. I enjoy watching these Oblivion and Morrowind videos, keep up the good work. 👍
I appreciate you watching! I’m really glad to hear it, especially the Morrowind vids! They’re less popular than Oblivion so it’s nice to the feedback!

Let’s gooooo! Super hyped! What a number! I’m just thankful for everyone who’s already here watching! Like you my friend!
Omg, I forgot about this one!
Definitely not a very memorable DLC 😂 it’s very much in the background
I love that you do these videos out of pure passion!

Cheers! Yeah it’s one of the more obscure expansions 😂
🌟 Great video!
I appreciate it!!
2:47 Glass armor and corduroy pants go pretty hard.
Business at the top, party on the bottom 😎
I always find this is glitched when try to play it. Bothiel is trapped behind the locked Orrery doors and I can never reach her.
I read about that glitch! I think it has to do with the Necromancer’s Moon quest but I don’t quite recall

Except the the Dwemer parts aren't in any chests, they're in the inventory of the Bandit Carriers.

Tbh,the Orrery seems interesting for Stargazing
One small thing. The official currency in oblivion is Septims not Drakes which were specific to Morrowind (if I recall correctly)

😂😂😂 very true!
