I love Duluth! Duluth is a great city to visit. I've visited Duluth many times when my grandparents were living in Duluth. When I come to Duluth I always head over to the Lift Bridge and see what ships are coming in or leaving the Duluth harbor. The shopping is awesome!

Grew up in Duluth. I have lived in big metropolitan cities and many small towns but Duluth is the most beautiful city I have lived in and is again my home.
Anyone interested in visiting we love tourists and the people are generally very friendly.
Other items of possible interest are Bentleyville in the winter which is a huge christmas light event.
Tour of the William a. Irving, a permanently docked ore ship thats now a museum shown in the video with the blue bridge behind it.
Enger Tower. An 80 foot stone tower set on top of the hill that was dedicated by the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway in 1939 and offers a stunning view of the area.
The park around it contains maintained flower guardians, Japanese rock guardians and the Ohara peace bell from our sister city Ohara Japan. The Original bell, now in Ohara has a long history dating back before ww2, it lived in Duluth after the war for a time but was returned and is now a symbol of friendship and peace.

As a native of Duluth, how do you think they would feel about a Californian transplant?

@SingularJames I don't know anyone opposed to Californians.

My favorite Duluth thing to do is start a hike at the end of Park Point down to the Superior inlet. Also, don’t forget a trip up to Enger Tower!

If you’re by the lift bridge you should watch a ore ship go under the lift bridge.

The best thing to do in Duluth is the same thing that 30-40 thousand people did since I was a fine lad - Leave!

Jerry, you sound upset….I left Duluth in 1969. I graduated from DAIT on a Sunday and left for Minneapolis after the ceremony. I now live in Florida which was beautiful in the early ‘70’s. We had the beaches to ourselves, lots of seashells, clear, clean water, no fishing license required, diving was spectacular…..now temps last year were in the 100’s with high humidity. Traffic is crippling….you have to expect being at a stand still on I75 and I4 for a period of time. Someone is getting shot every day. Water gets clogged with algae from fertilizer run off. Should I go on? Nowhere is perfect. I know Duluth has improved from my viewpoint. I enjoy going back. When I was growing up there, Canal Park was bars, strip joints and brothels visited by the sailors from all over the world. Now it’s coffee shops, restaurants, gift shops and a chance to see ships from all over the world. Check out Don Henley’s song “Last Resort” He makes an astute observation. Take care
