You should mod new oil pumps for the 3SGE and sell them...most guys would rather buy it from someone that has been there and done it "right" * 3SGE engines really do punch way above their weight, be a shame to lose one like you previously did

@@mwpaus Hey Mark, I used rhis exact unit only with AN10 lines instead of 12 wich is in the link, it is a Peterson oil pressure regulator, it works really good for me I can set the maximum oil pressure to whatever I like as long as the pump can provide the flow of course. www.ebay.com/itm/Peterson-Fluid-09-0161-Oil-Pressure-Relief-Valves-12AN-In-Out-NEW/143910360250?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2181b9d4ba:g:d2oAAOSwfW1f9i~9&amdata=enc%3AAQAFAAACgBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%252Fn%252BzU5L90Z278x5ickk7d4nremBkvNKtcC0ZwqXDFzfA1F6FYHx6xJyUAhUCKNRaVHy4q5%252FW3vEejpJk5H7rDMunVD8UhE0DMBCKkeZSeXMMNa%252BXC9lJ7HLN6Kay4ryEp8za60qQmIJMgw02LMh%252BfvKfS%252BM9ZAMN8HaQPmAymgWaCXnalf4hIseeEAowDCXUpS4wTdXEJl%252FFTw1lYk0w0UwYzoVuGVS4hxbO3dxTpQaonQo591IAS3B8cpVwcay3BGosNO7BO1MZa962wiIh6vHQ5vpincleehgHS%252BlrGRAr44GXPD5dQVEH9G9z%252FoFTeNwtDLUhtnR7fPeyoFp7oBtqwcLT0xf3jpvabYNK3CMMRXptJDRBs9Bkid2KN9b4wQhytEbVGgMFuwGoJvsEGiDVri%252BYIMeMxdoAc83tNb9hHXi1CWpbqfxkEUPrtYQxzaRsVAQyyOMq58ORv20kCFMq4%252Bz%252Bxs4PcYrdouSUVPOIP7nufUKDTSkCQJqb2m9PLOpQh0Lfd0VaFAfBDsvvqphwlyxq3uSLE6LmKqphGGtAogmcSR0nfHBCLcbxy7obStL%252Biq1KLM63rOuBNSEUpNPwRctAzRQfDRhO3BwgUG0JGDT%252BTV27rUpLfKNrTgJnAQCfEHEmnAwRT1ukn9Q688gysFaoXA7UemsGRdfaVU0Yv8k%252BGZnFpV88h%252FNDYjUfBiat5T3KRBdJazS3CD3GDc%252BkiQWOqAp7ZzOQsAdjg%252BIMTVGfdzQAWzfQOyS%252BC3HoJ4HE1vygSYs4ekjLqGOSjoZsfJ0ybVVmJPy8ltFjv81Gg9K0zG%252B1hda4kgvMzc%253D%7Ccksum%3A143910360250b5342c27562b48f88812b0bddb8b0225%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2334524
@@mwpaus If you would like to do the same thing to your car/project and are confused about how to plumb it to make it work I can explain/show you how I did mine, not saying that how I did it is the right or best way to do it though but it works for me.
@@fdfx3 thank you very much. Ive got an idea of how i would use it... I would remove the factory valve, TIG up the relief hole, then plumb it between the block and my remote oil filter mount. Pretty simple really. What max pressure do you have it set to?
@@mwpaus Yes it's really that simple, for the returnline for the relief line or whatever you would call it I just made a block of plate for the oil level sensor and put an AN fiting there so it would drain back through there. I had the pressure set to 6,5 kg/bar or 92,43 psi, but I'm having problems with the head filling up with oil and pushing it out the PCV pipe on the rocker cover after long periods of WOT, so I reduced the pressure down to 5,5kg/ 78,21psi to help with this problem. So far I haven't gotten around to find a fix or the source of my problem with the the rocker cover filling up, maybe I need an oil restrictor to the top or have excessive bearing clearances on the camshaft or have too much blow by so that the oil won't drain back propperly. If anyone have had any problems with this I would like to hear about it. So 5,5 is what i'm running at the moment, if I could fix my drain back problem I would probably increase it to 92 psi, but I'm yet to figure that out.
Is there on top of the little piston a seal? I have a 3sge gen2 build and when the engine stands over night it takes 3 seconds to build oil pressure could the seal of that little piston be the problem?
The piston is part of the system that regulates the maximum amount of pressure created by the pump, other than damage only if any debris is preventing it from totally closing can delay oil pressure. Apart from incorrect oil clearances on the mains, you should check oil filter return/ anti drain seal, is the oil too thick for your application, check clearances on the old pump rotor/shaft/housing, is the oil pickup tight and sealed
I'm confused; You measure a 7.5mm total depth for the valve body (6.5+1mm retainer clip). After this mod you 've shimmed 3mm with the plug (10mm plug but sitting flush to end of valve body) + another 3mm with washers...the spring's travel distance is now only 1.5mm? Am I reading that right?
