@Koa Wallace thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Hi, so if I am understanding this correctly, we always want to be using the latest year 5sfe oil pump for all 3sfe/3sge blocks? I have a junkyard ST162 3sge (87) and its going to replace my 87 camry's 3sfe. Are there any fitment issues or massaging that will be required or is it truly a plug and play solution?
The caldina pump you are useing to ilustrate is the 5th gen right? If so all i thought gen 4 and 5 has no differences with pumps. Thanks sir very informative
Hey I’m Tryba do an oil pump change and don’t know witch oil pump to get for a 1987 Toyota celiac gts but it’s a regular 2.0 engine not a beam do you know witch gen oil pump is best for it?mine is done I belve.
Great information: In short, which of these oil pumps to use if you have a 3SFE turbo for the street? Obviously increasing the pressure and amount of oil circulating in the engine is the key. AND, you should, if you can, do a clip regarding the E250/E250F tran-saxle from the 3SFE and the 5SFE engines. much misunderstanding regarding these transaxles if you can install LSD from Cusco / KAAP / etc.
I’m not familiar with the e250/ e250f trans. I know that a FWD trans has a different differential than the awd trans between st185/st205 and a mr2 turbo
@@trent88 some 3sfe and 5sfe are baffled and some aren't. There are some differnces in oil pans depending on what car they are for. Celica and mr2 are the same, camry is a little taller. Oil pumps are all interchangeable between 3sfe and 5sfe.
So when building using the 5s bottom block people use gen 2 3s oil pumps for more oil flow? I want to make sure I’m getting this correct. Also would having balance shafts effect the flow difference between the 5s and gen 2 3s oil pumps? Glad to see you’re back! Your 5sfe build videos have helped me a ton with my 01 Camry engine!
The 97 and up Camry pumps are the highest flowing factory pump that comes on a 5sfe engine that I know of. I believe the balance shafts are the reason for the need for higher flow in the camrys. We use the 5sfe pump from the Camry on our 3sgte engines

The 3sge beams (altezza and caldina 3sge) pumps need to flow more oil due to the vvti. Good vid.

What unit of measurement at you using? Doesn't make any sense what you're saying without that info.
3S-GE oil pump be changed with 3S-GTE?
The pump fits but drive gear is smaller on 3S-GTE
