As far as a car wash, we have 2 within 10 miles i use, they are touchless, drive thru washes that do a great job with under carriage wash, 9 bucks well spent. Best truck I ever had. My combined milage has been 16 mpg, about 19 hwy. Its not flat here.
It is. I agree. But my gripe is his complaining about the size. Yes, the truck is huge. And as for car washes, I'd go in the car wash stall instead of the automatic car wash. My 05 Expedition barely fit. Lol. Great review.
The rock chip problem could be dealt with by installing mud flaps on all four fenders. I've seen Range Rovers with mudflaps on all of their fenders because of this issue.
Appreciate your candor in sharing the "down sides" of owning this vehicle. So bottom line, would you buy it again now, after having learned about all the issues you didn't know? Yes or No 0-10, how would you rate the vehicle overall? 0= worst vehicle ever owned ; 10 = best vehicle ever owned
One thing I don’t like is when in a turn and hit a bump with the rear it feels like it wants to do its own thing. Hard to describe but I’ve seen others complain about it. Good list.
Around town, usually 13-15. Highway, have gotten up to 23. Range for highway trips in great due to fuel tank capacity...nearly 600 miles. And thank you, tried to put as much info out there as possible.
Unless you own a CRV or a Hyundai. You should never take your vehicle to a car wash. I hand wash my F150 Platinum once a month or more depending. Doesn't take long. I reccomend you look into getting your truck ceramic coated too.
Off roaders don't go to car washes, they hose it down in their driveway. Not every truck has the same issues, if my truck rattled, I'd trade it in. Maybe you got a not so good one. Preformance is why some one would buy one, and it's good compared to the choices out there. Ford preformance!

Yeah heard there's a scanning software to take care of that. Listen, having to push a button every time you get in the truck is NOT the end of the world...just a bit annoying after a while. First world problems, I know. I've left "touchless" car washes with dirt STILL on the truck. Once again, not earth shattering. Just have to break out the hose when you get home, that's all. But yes, they are an option if one is near you. As for mud flaps, not a big fan of how they look. But beggars can't be choosers; if you don't want rock chips...get mud flaps. Otherwise, suck it up and deal with the stone chips. The plus is you get REALLY good at using touch-up paint.
221B Tactical ....check out the Auto Stop Eliminator ( google it). Plugs right into the diagnostic port under the steering wheel. It reverses the auto stop system where you have to turn it on instead of off. I got one for my 2019 Raptor, works great. Not being critical, just think any high pro vehicle comes with higher maintenance costs. Best of luck.
Terrible transmission, squeaks and rattles, uncomfortable seat, heavy steering, wind noise, sloppy suspension on highway. One on every block and dealers won’t budge on price. Tested one out for 1,000 miles. Decided it wasn’t worth the hype.
1) WeatherTech mudflaps, inexpensive, easy to install, eliminates 99% of rock chips. 2) ForScan can program mirrors to fold in when u lock doors and fold out when unlock. 3) We have drive thru brushless car washes in Texas that Raptor fits in fine 4) Auto stop/start eliminator costs $99. Easy install and keeps feature available. Remembers last setting. 5) My Raptor has no rattles. Very quiet and smooth ride. 10k miles and lots of off roading.
Sadly, quite a few new raptors have blown up and stranded people. Not cool but happens with any new generation vehicle with brand new motor and tranny I suppose.
As a owner of a 2018 myself, "long term owner". I've experienced none of these ....issues. customize your truck, handheld.. forscan etc.

with forscan you can set your mirrors to auto fold and disable the auto start

Mine doesn't rattle.
My raptor is quite without rattle there is 1 noise rattle from the rear window but only when open when closed its quite
