      Gooody17 Yeah not have your truck for seven weeks and the cam phasers going out that’s not a big deal , especially when the problem goes back all the way to 2012. you obviously don’t know what cam phaser is ,and how extensive it is to remove and replace , not having your truck for seven weeks and the cam phasers going out that’s not a big deal you obviously NOT A mechanic or have any mechanic abilities. you have to tear the entire front and top of the engine off to replace the cam phasers two days worth of work thousands of dollars, yeah no big deal on a brand new truck ,and you’re not a weenie. This truck would never stand up against a power wagon proven that already.

      I agree. After my issues with F-150 Super"screw," I would never buy a Ford again. From Dealer, Ford, and Service were horrible. The only thing I got out of it was that is, it was only a 2wd. When I traded it in at GM for a 2500hd 4x4 with the 8.1 and the dealer thought it was 4x4. I was wonder why the Trade in was so high. Called me the next day. He goes I didn't realize it was a 2wd, I gave you a trade in for a 4x4. His boss was pissed. I said I was sorry. I did buy a Denali SUV from him a couple years later to make up for it. I didn't get so lucky with the Ford Exploder Limited with the 5.0 because of all the roll over issues at the time.

      The way he talked about it makes it sound like he picked it. Raptors are typically not custom ordered by a customer. Dealerships are allocated so many Raptor orders a year depending on sales. Some dealerships could have 5+ a year, another could have 1-2, and some may be allocated 0 unless they were to trade for one with another dealership. You pretty much have to pick what is on the lot, on the way to the dealer lot, or at another dealer unless you catch a dealership that is in the process of ordering one. Or, you make an agreement prior to the dealer ordering one of their allocations.

But that doesn’t matter. This man obviously has a love and passion for raptors and chooses to keep buying them no matter what problems occur and it’s his money and choice and more power to him. Hopefully this one doesn’t have any other problems and he can be happy with it stress free for its entirety.

The law is pretty clear and the attorney basically does this in and out every day so the car companies have dedicated people to handle these things. It’s incredible how efficient the process went. By the time I contact the lawyer to the time I had a result was about 10 days. My lawyer asked what I wanted. Told me what I’d most likely get. Bottom line is that in my situation My lawyers negotiated with Ford (instead of suing them) and I got a check for $6000 or what was 100% of what I paid into my car at that time. If the issue is severe enough, all options up to a full buyback are on the table. All in all it was almost too easy.

    Todd Wright and others: I agree that this could be the best interview I've seen from Roman. This Man was very composed and honest and thorough in sharing his valuable experience. I would like to see more of this. On a side note: Roman could speak even less. There was a moment when the owner was speaking of the squat when towing and was about to relate it something, but we'll never be sure exactly what he was going to say since Roman spoke over him. Still, best job I've seen yet and this piece was rich with info.

      @bradborkowski3236 5 лет назад +1

      kcolmeh62 - I was going to mention that the squat does not bother me nor does it seem to affect its towing ability. Finally I was going to mention that active cruise control is a really nice feature when towing. It allows you to easily draft a large vehicle without worrying about rear ending them or constantly adjusting your speed to match theirs. I’ve used the back up assist once. I found it cumbersome to use. It was quicker to just back up the old fashion way. I suppose for some that have trouble backing up they might find it more useful.

    This is a interesting segment to have, however it really opens the door to a lot of the usual asinine internet warrior comments from people who simply hate Ford, hate that Ford has truck on the market like this, that honestly has yet to be matched off road. Try doing what this truck is capable of doing in the desert in any other brand and see what issues come up.
    Then we have the constant crying that it isn't s V8 and that some how this LeMans winning engine is the worst thing since sliced bread. Given the set up of the Raptor with its suspension having a lighter engine which exceeds the power of the original is a plus. And clearly anyone who bags on the little V6 has never experienced its awesomeness. But carry on because you clowns are utterly predictable and it's a joy knowing what you don't know or don't want to accept about the Raptor.

    I watched this back in April. Never dreamt that the next time I watched it I’d have a 2019! I like his mods but I think the front bumper has got to go. Of course that means replacing the intercooler which means tuning so it kind of snowballs.

  • @OnTheReelFishing
    @OnTheReelFishing 5 лет назад +8

    So you had a Raptor with a jacked up engine. Fixed under warranty after almost 2 months of down time. Then you get rid of that, buy *another* 2018 Raptor, and then stick aftermarket intake and a tune on it...more than likely voiding the warranty...makes sense. Must have a lot of faith in the “late production” 2018...

    • @TrailTribune
      @TrailTribune 5 лет назад

      OnTheReelFishing I was thinking the same thing. You’d that a factory tuned performance Raptor would be good enough for most dudes.

      I was thinking the same thing, this truck already has a solid tune... not point and messing around with the motor more risking a voided warranty and further damage. I'm wondering if him running the tune on the previous truck led to the damaged motor...

    The more technology that gets put into these trucks, the more potential failure points. Engineering 101. I have an ‘04 F-150 Lariat I bought brand new, 165k miles. Will be buying a new truck in the next few years, and this video is more data backing up my decision to buy a Tundra. I don’t give a damn about bells and whistles, I want it to start and run.

    • @kcolmeh62

      I agree with you that reliability is paramount, and Ford is dropping the ball here while the Tundra has earned a deserved reputation for being durable and reliable. Some of the tech advances are so nice though and better fuel economy would be welcome. It is a shame that they seem to come at the cost of reliability. By objection with Ford, GM and Toyota is that you need to get bucket seats to get a higher optioned truck.

    • @jaredwalker5720

      I’m fortunate in that I don’t put a lot of miles on my truck (have company vehicle), so gas mileage isn’t that big of a deal. Plus, unleaded is $1.75/gal where I live. At 15k miles per year (avg for folks?) it’s a savings of ~$440/yr in gas at $1.75., ~$500/yr in gas at $2.00, and about $570/yr at $2.25.
      For a $50,000 vehicle (or $70,000 for a raptor), I’m not trying to save $500 for that many reliability headaches, but that’s just me.

      the percentage of people that actually have REAL problems with these trucks is very very small, im on all the forums and engaged with all the talk and real owners with real complaints, these trucks are real dependable, obviously if you get the raptor (a high performance sports truck) you will run into some kinks, anything high performance that will happen, that's the name of the game, everyone knows that, no one buys a raptor on accident, but don't let all the tundra fan boys sway you too much, its the same thing, grass is always greener, its a mechanical piece of equipment with moving parts and an engine, they 100% have problems in different areas too, not to mention they haven't updated the truck since 2005 and they look like a car and make you look like a soccer mom. Theyre also nice trucks, but nothing they make is worth getting over an American truck, go look in tundra forums, they aren't as bulletproof as people say, they have recalls and headaches just like anything else, but if you bought a modern normal f150 there would be zero issues for 200k+ miles if you maintained it, but they raptor will obviously have draw backs being high performance.
