I've LOVED mine ever since I got it. I picked up a 2011 with 120k. The best part is they hold their value, have a timeless design, and they're reliable!
Its a Raptor, 6.2L V8 with awesome performance, full stop!!! Love it for what it is and enjoy that V8 exhaust and acceleration. Mine gets 12.6 mpg, 93 octane, five star tune and when I wake up in the morning, just can't wait to get in, start up and smile all the way to work. Lol...
@@citizenpark2782 Have not had any issues with the 5 star. I run the 93 octane street tune with stock intake and like it. I also have sprint booster to compliment 5 star. Periodically I download back to stock and back to tune, like a reboot thing. Have funnn
I have a 2013 V8 Raptor as well, turn signal sucks and so does the stereo! It's a great off road truck though! I use my 5 series bmw as my daily. Looking forward to your next video.
This is a sweet truck , very capable , I prefer my 2nd gen taco for parking and the trails I do , but still very cool If I didn't live in the city this is what I would drive
it seems, as a potential buyer, rust is the biggest issue. If it gets into the frame, there is not much you can do about it. Have you had any rust issues? What do you think about under-carriage coating to prevent rust? I live in the north east, so we a fair share of rust from salted roads in the winter. is there more you can do besides just washing the undercarriage after driving in salt?
hah! What's funny is that I've never had an issue with that design in the BMW. It's silly, but I've never had a question on whether the signal was on or off.
The Blinkers are design for turning and changing lanes, when you turn you push it all the way down, if your changing lanes you tap it and it will blink for 3 seconds and turn off. So its not a cork its design to to that.
Cheap plastic really? Have you seen lower model Ford's and Chevy's? The plastic in the Gen 1 raptor is far better quality than most of what is produced on similar vehicles today. The Gen 1 has a simple and clean interior which makes it so great. Most new cars have too many switches and functions that ruin the driving experience. I would take my Gen 1 over a newer raptor any day and throw the money you save at suspension upgrades. Although I do like the center console on newer raptors better and the ability to run 37's easily without serious suspension mods. The 6.2 engine will outlast any Ecoboost and I've seen guys with 300K and 400K plus miles.
keep thinking about getting into a Gen 1 but mannnn their interior did not age well at all. I mean its not terrible but if you sit in a Gen 2 then a Gen 1, the Gen 1 feels incredibly outdated. Its feels nowhere near that way going between a Gen 2 and a Gen 3. Its such a bummer because I love the exterior look and everything.
@@SteveHartmanVideos New plugs and wires make an initial difference. I did mine early around 70K miles and could tell the truck was quicker but that faded quickly. It's more piece of mind as preventative maintenance will ensure these trucks make it past the 200K and even 300K mark. Mike, I would personally not bother rebuilding the Gen 1 stock shocks. Run them hard and as long as you don't blow the seals just save up for an upgrade kit to 3" diameter shocks which means new UCA, LCA, axles, tie rods, etc. Then you can run 37" tires too if you want.
Honestly for me parking mine is a TON easier then my 07 Titan its absolutely 10 times worse as far as picking a line and turning radius. That said when your'e in the spot the big question is can I open the doors far enough to get out!!!!!
@@ShiftedPerspective I looked up the part at Ford, The parts guy said it is kind of a dealer accessory that they install if you ask. Some trucks come with it from the factory. It is a hard plastic or metal logo with a strong sticker on the back. No different than the F-150 badge. He said if you buy it we will put it on free (wow..lol it is just a sticker). It is about $10.
mines at 116k miles and i bought it at 106k miles and i know this video is 1 year old but he gets 14mpg where as i get 12.5-13mpg? and i change the oil every 3,000 miles and so i wonder why that is?
do you have the ford Snyc 2 or 3? I saw someone do an upgrade from Sync 2 to 3. Its hard to tell what version comes with these Gen1s. Is it true that they only came with Sync 2, even with the 2014 top trim? If you have the Sync 2, do you have issues with the blue tooth staying connected, or the touch screen not responding consistently?
Gen 1s come with sync 2(including top trim 2014). Only the 13-14s can be upgraded to sync 3. I did the sync 3 upgrade on my 2014, well worth it over the sync 2.

For performance a good computer tune will help performance and fuel mileage
Dope Truck, but I’m old school. I own a 1983 Chevrolet C10. My favorite generation is the 1973-1987 C10 trucks.

My point was just that the ergonomics of this isn’t designed well. It’s difficult to tell how far you’re pushing it.

question can you tell a difference on changing the plugs and wires on it also have you change out your fox shocks yet
I would also like to know if the plugs made a noticeable difference, or if its more for peace of mind for when they go back after 100k.
