The Gen 1 is definitely a classic, especially in Scab configuration, best for Dessert running. The new Raptor R doesn't come in Scab configuration which is disappointing. 6.2L Boss engine is best in performance and sound....Enjoy...
I have a 13 in race red, exhaust and rims is all ive done. Just hit 99k and hope to run it to 200k. Love the gen 1 so much. I like all the gens of raptors they all have there own plus’s to them

A couple of corrections to your video: Gen 2's started in 2017, not 2015 The shocks are not the same. Fox shocks, yes but the Gen 2's have a 3.0 instead of the 2.5 in the Gen 1's. Lots of Gen 1 owners are making a conversion to the 3.0s. Width is almost identical, where you said the Gen 1's are more. It's a 0.2 inch difference (Gen 1 is 86.5, Gen 2 86.3) That being said, get yourself a Gen 1. It's the original and if you have the means, save it for when the prices spike and they become the must-have classic truck.
@@Mikeypolis on the superduty forum. The most I seen was from this member called flatbed ed. his motor lasted up to 418k, all he ever did was fluid change. The truck was a workhorse and still had the original transmission.
@@Mikeypolis yeah he is in the superduty forum, his engine gave out in 2017. But he would regularly update here and there on his journey. I wonder if the truck was just used for daily and light work, would it have lasted longer.
Cool video! I’ve had a few Gen1’s their great! Just sold my last one this week. Picking up my Raptor R this weekend! FYI: The Gen2 was from 2017-2020. Ford did not make a Raptor year model in 2015 or 2016.
I honestly don’t like the squared off fender flares on the Gen 2 and Gen 3 in terms of exterior . The Gen 1s rounded body is so sexy even with the aftermarket glass fenders
I love my 2014 raptor but the only problem I have with it is the dreaded clunk coming from the front shock area. Everything is tight so I'm thinking it's the fox shocks, in the cold weather I also get the noise in the rear. Anyone else get the same noise? They were already rebuilt
Get new lower control arms and an aftermarket alignment and cam kit (makes HUGE alignment improvement). In the rear what solved it for me was upgrading to icon leaf spring kit. Now slowly doing the entire icon stage 4 build out.
I have an opportunity to get a raptor Gen 1 2013 with 92k miles. It has 37” tires BDS 4inch lift with Fox, morimoto headlights and a bunch of other goodies. It looks really clean he’s asking $35k is that a good deal?
Ok cool yeah it’s about like 3 hours from me but yeah I think it’s a really good deal also. I originally wanted the Gen 2 but I honestly love the 6.2 engine so damn much lol
@@Mikeypolis Yeah I’m considering it. I definitely should look at it before buying it sight unseen lol. And yeah the 6.2s are sick. Are they really reliable and maintain really well? I’ve heard good things about the Gen 1s
It was actually a truck from a dealership I partnered with and it sold a couple days after the video. It is such a beautiful truck! Thanks for watching the video!!
What’s a good price for a 1st gen raptor in todays market? I’m thinking of 33-38k depending on vehicle history and mileage and all of that, what do you think?
I think if you want to be under 100k miles, high 30's is realistic. if you are above 100k miles, but still in nice shape, I'd go closer to the 34k to 36k
