It is wonderful what you're doing and how much free information you're offering to everyone. Though I had purchased a different kit here in the U.S., it's something I shared with my parents. My dad was super excited to grow his own mushrooms, however it was really my mom who took care of the kit. I'm very much interested in learning how to make grow kits but I would like to figure our how to extend those kits so people can use the medium many more times. Ideally the kit could be a ceramic container that you can place plastic wrap over the surface till the mushrooms pin. After that they can be growing their oyster mushrooms in a beautiful planter and after they harvest their first harvest they can re-inoculate the medium and continue to keep on growing many more times. I'm certain people would be willing to pay more since it would be more convenient. Do you guys have any idea how many times the grow medium can be reused before it's depleted? I want to make it possible for people like my parents to have several months worth of mushrooms without having to receive another package in the mail as well as a "step up" from growing in a cardboard box. I believe that's niche market for what's next after someone has finished their first grow kit...it's just not appealing for them to purchase kit after kit and they aren't the type to want to get super serious about growing mushroom like those who catch the bug.
I enjoy the information. My wife and I are in the process of buying a home where we can homestead and I want to grow gourmet mushrooms, we love eating them along with other food we grow.
Hello!! Very nice video. I am just curious about two things: first there are a lot of air inside the bags before putting it inside the boxes. How do you remove the air out? The second question is the shelf life of these kits. Because sometimes you can sell for some stores and and they do not sell really quick. Is there any idea of storage time vs. growth efficiency? Thanks!!!
Hi! Checking if someone found an answer regarding the Shelf life of these kits. Also as Camila mention is there any idea of storage time vs. growth efficiency? GroCycle appreciate your answer :)
You reach out to this dude I ordered from, he sells psychedelics discreetly, also have Mushrooms Embryos, Grow kits, Shrooms, Dmt, Lsd, Microdose and more 🍄💯 he could direct you also if you're a newbie in it.
no, the mushrooms would just eat anything biodegradeable. you could use glass, and just open the lid for them to fruit, but not all mushrooms can fruit good and efficient in bottles. from my knowledge oysters arent really good for bottles
@@Gayndhi what about wood? I've seen people innoculate logs and geow mushrooms that way - what if there was a smaller, packageable version of that? Surely someone out there knows how to figure that out..
@@TheLaNadine the problem with wood is, that either the mycelium will take over that packaging or mold will take over it. either way you cant reuse it. the wood will have to be pasteurized aswell, so mold has a harder time to colonize it. and if you leave the mycelium to the open air, which you do by not covering the wood packaging that gets colonized by the mycelium, you dry out your substrate cake, so only small yeild will result in that. for growing on logs, you cover your logs in the sun with a plastic tarp or lots of leaves, so no moisture escapes ( the plastik sheet is rexommended, since the leaves can start to rot and contaminate the log aswell) in general its very hard to use a plastic free way of growing mushrooms, since mushrooms eat everything they find

You could potentially make spawn with the mushrooms harvested from the kit and in turn never need to buy mushrooms again.

Great set of videos gents! Wish I lived in the UK so I could purchase one of your kits but shipping might be a bit on the expensive side for the US :)
Thanks Jeff, I think there are similar kits in the US you could probably find if you're keen to grow some
GroCycle I did have to settle for a couple US brands :)
@@jbb3141 have fun with the growing!
Thank you for your amazing videos.
Could these growing kits be stored for long times?

I also want to know the answers of those questions

Where can I get the bags to grow mushrooms?
Can I divide the block in glass jars and put them in a sunny & humid place and will the mushrooms grow fine???
how long can these kits last before they go bad?
1 to 2 months shelf life
Good informative video, I am just curious to know how much kg of substrate do you pack in this eack bag?
How long after you pack the bags with straw and coffee grounds do you innoculate? Immediately or do you wait?
Where this type of mushroom kits available?
So there are no mushroom spores added during this process??
How do you sterilise the substrate?
How can I grow in india ?

Like the idea, but is there a way to do this without using plastic?

you can use plastic containers so you can use it for something after harvesting the final flush
