yes definitely! It tastes delicious when you fry the lion's mane with some butter and some garlic. It smells like meat as it cooks.

Plastic bags still rule in this business, yes? Buckets don't really save on much plastic use if you want to have diverse varieties, yes?

Hello! With our Low Tech methods (pateurisation), we managed to move towards a fully organic, compostable alternative to plastic. But unfortunately these don't stand up to the high temperatures or pressure of the sterlising process - but we are looking for longer-term, more sustainable alternatives, and as soon as we find something, we'll share it within the community!! Thanks for watching!

I'm trying to start to grow mushroom at my home, and my last attempt to make a spawn in jars out of grains and petri dish started to have exactly that orange color and make an orange liquid (see video time 7:41). It was pink oyster. I searched for advice in some foruns and they said it could be mycelium piss or wet rot, so i've decided to throw it out (and as a beginner i thought that's very possible that something i did went wrong in the process). But as I saw it in yours I then though that could be something normal. Can you tell me what it is and if it's normal?
Great great channel btw! Now I'm going to try the low tek with an already bought spawn. Wish me luck!

they're called metabolites, the mycelium produce them to fight off contamination as they have antimicrobial and antifungal properties, people call it myc piss because they say that it is the excrement of the mycelium, I'm not sure if that's true as not all blocks produce it. I believe it's a defense mechanism in response to competing organisms, so in a way you're right it is a sign of potential contamination, however small amounts is normal and could be a sign the mushroom mycelium is winning the battle

@@ebtsoby Understood. So, if the quantity of this orange liquid is small, could i proceed into using the spawn? or is it better to throw away? As it contains contamination.
