    Ordered my fox 2.0 with reservoirs for the front and back yesterday. Can’t wait to get them done. This video helped a bunch. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

      Awesome! You won't be disappointed. Just make sure the reservoir is in the right spot. The tire shop twisted mine and the tire rubbed it all up and ruined the sticker before I fixed it. Good luck on the install!

    No need to lift up frame when installing? Less compressing by hand when putting in? Just curious ..about to install..

    How did they effect your towing abilities? I have a 2014 with the Cummins and bilstiens all the way around and they are beating us to death. Want to switch to fox, but use the truck to tow our tractor on our gooseneck a good bit.

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  3 года назад

      They perform way better than the Bilsteins I had on my old Dodge, but it was a 2003 and I would tow a 9,000lb tractor and trailer with it during the summer. So far, the heaviest thing I've towed is probably 6 or 7,000lbs of concrete and it was way smoother than my old truck. But, those are also 2 different suspensions. I don't think I'll ever go back to Bilsteins, but I don't want to tell you the Foxes will solve your problem, either. At close to $500 for rear shocks, you could almost get a nice airbag setup for the rear and then maybe switch your shocks out when the Bilsteins wear out. Swap them out on warranty, then sell them and try to offset the expense of the new Fox shocks.

    Does the reservoir have a knob to adjust the stiffness at the end of it?

      Not on these ones, but they do have that option available.

    My 2016 Ram 2500 on 20” fuel
    wheels and Michelin Defenders 295/60R20 and it rides so stiff and bumpy. Uneven roads or roads with bumps, cracks, etc it rides and rattles me to death. My 2018 Raptor hugged all the bumps and uneven roads and stayed planted and rode like a cloud. My 2016 ram hood and skips and rides rough. Will these fox shocks help? Do I need to have a leveling kit as well? I want the truck to ride soft. I never haul anything so not worry about payload at all.

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  2 года назад

      Mine rides way softer than it did when stock and it would nearly run off the road on washboards. Now it handles the washboards way better. I have also switched from the Toyo Open Country AT II to the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT and man these tires ride so much better! The load range E tires make it tougher and the Raptors are made for high speeds off-road while the 2500 is for hauling. I am really happy with the upgrade, but it's a pretty stiff price point. If you're just trying to soften your ride, maybe start with tires when you need them and then go for the shocks if that doesn't help.

      I have a 2014 ram 2500, and run 40 rear psi and front 50 psi when not hauling. Seems to help a lot.

      it's because you have 20" wheels. go with a 17" wheel and good shocks. Your ride will be a lot better

      @@ianramirez3364 there's a hole in the inner fender shroud. Can you try to use that to wire tie it into place using the reservoir line? It could also be the internals that are forcing it to rotate. Maybe let it rotate again, then loosen the reservoir and move it back in place.

    • @RoadandReel

      No, no rubbing at all. There's plenty of clearance on these with 275/65R20 tires. This is a 4x4 3/4 ton, so it's up a little higher than some other models.

    They say only the non reservoir shocks fit the rear but the hole in the frame is kind of ovaled out enough for the hose. I bet you could fit the reservoirs in the rear too. I wonder if anyone has tried? Maybe the valving in the rear is different too? Idk

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  3 года назад

      I bet you are right. There is plenty of room and with a long enough hose, the reservoir could easily clear everything and be mounted to the frame or elsewhere out of the way.

    • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  3 года назад +1

      Honestly, I thought the same thing. I'm set up more for towing or traveling at high speeds on rough roads. They were a little longer than stock, but I just don't think the solid rear axle on this truck articulates that much. I'm not a big fan of going on crazy 4x4 roads in my daily driver, but if that was the case, you can get them in many different lengths to suit your needs.
