I actually remember this at least the finalized version where the characters have dark colors for some reason tho it only shows the part where the two are already dancing in that PBS Kids Use your Imagination music video of sorts in the 2000s-2010s
Wow, you saw it? I never saw the finished version until 22 years later when someone sent me a link to a video uploaded to RUclips. At the time I was told to just make some dancing animation for "some promo PBS was making." I think I got $60 for it at the time. :)
@offmodel interesting I wonder why you never shown the final product, cause I saw said bumper all the time in the 2000s till at least 2012-2013. I remember my PBS station KUHT played that often past the 2000s and I still remember the dancing part with Arthur and D.W. tho I wish I could see what the unreleased Arthur's Big Hit storyboard looked like where the punch isn't shown
@@loser2466 I was at the studio in Montreal, Canada and I didn't have cable TV at home to pick up PBS so I never saw the promo...actually I never saw ANY of animation for the 95 episodes of Arthur I worked on unless I was walking past the editing suite at the studio! I have the storyboard for Arthur's Big Hit in my basement but it is only a xerox...the original storyboard had a scene where Arthur clearly punches DW on the shoulder but it was cut out and covered over by a Post-It note because the client didn't want to show Arthur actually hit DW...but it unintentionally becomes much more violent by NOT showing the punch.
@@offmodel I meant to say shown but yeah I wonder what it looks like, since it'd be unreleased media, but that's a shame you never got to see your work unlike the majority of people like me including that RUclipsr covering on Arthur Matt Neff in his FU D.W. series he's been doing since at least 2022 or so. It's a shame you never got to see your finalized work I wonder who did the rest of the work like the finalizing like inking and painting both with cels and digital and who finalized the animation
@@loser2466 I was the Storyboard Supervisor...I remember clearly the shot that was removed was a medium shot of DW and then Arthur's fist comes in and hits her on the shoulder, pushing her off screen...then the shot that follows is the same as appears in the episode of DW falling to the ground...without the medium shot it looks like Arthur punches DW in the face, he really just punches her on the shoulder. The removed shot was never animated...it never got past the storyboarding stage. The key poses for Arthur animation was done in Montreal and ink & paint coloring of the animation was done in Seoul, Korea, using a primitive digital ink and paint program known as AXA...the only cels that exist were done just for promotion or color guides.
