  • Bas goes over both exercises, the front- and back breathing muscles, but then also tells you how to do it without the movement.
    The O2Trainer does wonders for your endurance, most Olympic endurance athletes are using Inspiratory Muscle Training since its proven to be very effective. The O2Trainer will also force you to breathe correctly, and please know that studies say that 95% of the people are breathing wrong, which was including Bas before he made the O2Trainer.
    On our website www.o2trainer.com you can find, under the tab SCIENCE, many Published Medical Journals that will back up every claim Bas is making.
    Change your life, the O2Trainer can give you up to 5 times or oxygen, you mundane body will appreciate it!

    I've been using an O2 trainer for about a month. My biggest challenge has been keeping track of how many breathes I have done. And yes, I can count. I solved this issue by buying one of those hand held clicker-counter things on Amazon. Problem solved.

    I roll my shoulders lightly and occasionally lightly roll my neck side to side during both front and back exercises, keeps the tension out from those points and all the effort where it's supposed to be...Great bit of gear Bas..To add, rotating shoulders lightly while exercising trains boxers and so forth to relax their shoulders and breathe correctly while in the ring..

    • @O2TRAINER
      @O2TRAINER  Год назад +11

      I love that, thank you, I did something like that when I would fight, I would shake myself during the fight to feel all my muscles "blubber" and that would mean I was completely relaxed, so again, I love this, thank you!

      @@O2TRAINER My pleasure Bus, soon as I started rolling my shoulders lightly, I could feel all the tension go and the right breathing muscles really working , so I move and relax my neck from side to side as well RIGHT at the end of the exercise, which really helps to get a FULL expansion of the ribcage by releasing tension in the neck on the final part...It's like doing a very slight shoe shine boxing exercise going up into a slight neck side to side relaxing motion to finish off...My body memory from doing that with the 02 trainer when working the bag is kicking in.. So in short you have the 02 trainer teaching and strengthening breathing muscles, as you relax and loosen..Perfect for unconscious muscle memory training for the ring..The "blubber" 02 training method..lol

      For me, I am already noticing a difference in my breathing pattern, ease of breathing and an improvement in my sleep. I had developed a shallow/wincing breathing pattern after my lung segmentectomy. Using the O2 trainer for less than 2 weeks, I can not only feel the muscle engaging and strengthening in my diaphragm but, I can also feel the scar tissue stretching out under my rib cage as well. The increased breathing strength already gained definitely helps me control my breathing pattern and feel more like normal during the day. The gained strength is also allowing me to sleep better, before laying down felt like self induced suffocation but I’m already regaining the ability to take full breaths when laying down on my back and sides instead of having to be propped up on pillows to feel comfortable breathing while I sleep. I definitely recommend.

    My 02trainer arrived an entire week earler than expected so yeeha! Its been an hour since the first use and im still burping up gas and bloat (hopefully a bit of belly fat).
    All day ive been super blocked up and snuffy from eating too much diary and getting too much aircon between work gym and the bed room. I only just noticed how clear my nasal breathing is as i began to write, not to mention that every breath is being pulled from my diaphragm as my bloating has slightly dissipated..Thanks for the product and ivideos Bas, love ya work & prey for your success

    Sorry Bus, one more thing..If you stand upright and inhale without anything, feel the expansion..Then inhale while rolling the shoulders you get a better expansion...It may not work that way for you as you know how to breathe, but others what it does is loosen the shoulders right up, then the shoulders retract back correctly opening up the ribcage fully...God Speed..

    Hey Bas, huge fan. Thank you for all you do! I have the old version of the 02 trainer. I'm wondering if this is one is as effective? And if not - would you mind briefly talking about the pros of version 2 for us?

    • @O2TRAINER
      @O2TRAINER  Год назад +2

      You are perfectly OK with the old one. The new one has a different mouth piece and has two extra caps, the hardest setting is now 1 which is 1mm, (the old model hardest setting is 14, so remember that, now I just used the number that stands for mm). so we have 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 and then from there on all mm, so 4, 5, 6, etc. So no worries, yours works great!

    Hey, I’m looking to be as healthy as possible and get very good endurance levels. Could I just use this device and breathe with that when I’m doing exercise like cardio for example. Specifically a bike machine for 30 minutes a day and adding this device, yeah my main goal is to just become as athletic as possible. 🙂

    Is there a difference between the older O2 trainer with the square piece flaps and the newer one? Same benefits?

    • @OfficialBasRutten
      @OfficialBasRutten Год назад +5

      Same benefits, only the mouthpiece is better because you can bite on it therefore swallow. And we have a 1.5 and 2.5mm cap as well. The jump from 1mm to 2mm was pretty big on those harder settings.
      And when you watch new videos, please know that size 14 with you, is size 1 with the new one
      With the new model I did whatever number it is, it’s the mm for the size. Like in this video I say: most people start with 4, 5 or 6. For you that’s 11, 10 or 9. But your works just fine!

      (this is Bas) Yes they can just use a little less resistance and let them do more reps, also depends on how old your child is, if they are 12 and up, they can use more resistance.

    What about using the O2 Trainer for box breathing?

    • @O2TRAINER
      @O2TRAINER  Год назад +2

      You can but whatever the inhale time is, use that number, most of the time they use 4 seconds for box breathing and with the O2Trainer (depending on what setting) it might take longer, that's why I mention this

  • @LegBuilder
    @LegBuilder Год назад

    what is the indication you need to decide to go down in the number (up in resistance). i just got mine in the mail and that would be helpful information.

    • @O2TRAINER
      @O2TRAINER  Год назад

      We don't sell them retail? When your 30 reps go below 3 min go to more resistance, when you go over 4.5m take less resistance. Here is a detailed explanation: www.o2trainer.com/pages/bas-o2-breathing-exercises

    I bought the O2 trainer a few weeks back but only started using it a week ago. Don’t ask, something with mindset…..
    In May I ran my first marathon and after that I felt like every training became harder and harder. I noticed my breathing during interval sessions was more towards my chest and not economic at all.
    I am sure this will help me out big time.
    I have 2 questions though. 1 is about use, I know exhaling is done fast but how fast do you inhale and go back into the exhale? Is this one fluent motion or do you lock your inhale for a second?
    Reason being is that I think I’m taking to long on an easy cap.
    2nd question is more curiosity, would you advise against using the O2 trainer on an easier setting during, for instance, an easy 5k run?
    Keep doing what you do Bas, you’re amazing

    • @O2TRAINER
      @O2TRAINER  Год назад +1

      Very sorry for the late response. You can use the O2Trainer on an easy setting when running, but please, keep it easy, we are all wired and want to "got to the smallest setting" right away, but don't, give your mind and body the o2 it needs. If you raised your chest while running, the O2Trainer will help a LOT for you, I promise you that. The second question, inhale with power, I go hard, this way I know I am pushing it, if you gentle one time, hard the next, you can't really get a feeling of where you are. Personally I use setting 2 and do it for 5 min straight, I can use setting 1.5 (correctly, because many say they can but don't do it correctly), but setting 2 gives me, on good day, about 44 reps in 5 min.So I do a little more. But there is a whole science behind 30 reps, I just like this better, haha. Godspeed

    • @NeoAmonRa
      @NeoAmonRa Год назад

      @@O2TRAINER thanks for the reply. I started with setting 6 just to get a feel for it and now switched to setting 5. Might try a run with the 5 soon. After only a month I notice some changes in my breathing that are pretty cool. Breaths per minute is down by 2 in comparison from when I started. I’ll keep going and follow your advice. Thanks again for the lesson 💪🏻
