Thanks for sharing your cruise with us! It felt a lot more real than many cruise reviews! My husband died while we were planning a cruise, so I am now researching solo cruising. Stay well!
Thankyou! I'm sorry to hear that. Im glad I was able to help. Solo cruising can be really fun so I really hope you get to try one you'll love it and make a lot of new friends.
I'm so sorry for your loss, and I hope you took/are taking a cruise Hopeful Traveler. I LOVE cruising and have always gone with my husband (SIX cruises together over the decades), but now if I cruise, I will be alone, too...
I just returned from my first solo cruise on NCL Epic. I had a blast. As a woman solo traveler, I felt very safe. The crew got to know me, so I felt comfortable knowing someone was aware of my comings and goings. I met a lot of singles and other solo travelers. I highly recommend it as a way of vacationing.
And this, too! THANK YOU, Mr. Bucketlist! (I just left you a comment on your NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY STUDIO ROOM AND LOUNGE FULL TOUR video.) Appreciate you!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've cruised 3 or 4 times with family or friends but I've got my first solo cruise booked for 2022. The experiences you had with people hitting on you are funny.
Thank you, Mr. Bucket LIst, for a thorough and enjoyable tour of the NCL Breakaway. I plan on traveling on that cruise line sometime in 2023. Great hearing about all of the details you explored during this video.🔆🔆🔆
Cruised solo to Alaska. It was great although no solo group activities that I was aware of (on a princess ship). I didn't care, I had a great time anyway! Was in my 50s.
I've gone solo to Alaska 3 times (I love Alaska). 2 times on NCL (the ships didn't have studios though) and 1 time on Princess. I went to the solo meets on NCL and met people of all ages. Was nice to have company at dinner and to see a show with and I actually kept in touch with a couple of meeting I met. Princess did solo meets but it was just a set time to meet at a bar and I couldn't tell where the solo group actually were so a bartender took me over. The Princess group were all older...50s and up but mainly 60s and up. Not hating, just was hoping to see people closer to my age than my parents'.
I’m a single-at-heart individual, too, and I travel a lot on my own, too. While I’m happy for people who have gotten married and had kids, I can’t be 100% convinced that they pursue their hobbies and go on active vacations. Controversial opinion!
Lol that is a controversial opinion! One of my previous coworkers told me all his hopes and dreams went out the window once he got hitched and his wife got preggo so I know for a fact he would agree with ya lol
I hear you. I'm a 38 year old woman. I'm trying to get all my fun, childless and single self to do all my traveling now because I plan to get pregnant in 2 years and know those days will be long over unless I can get family to watch a baby lol.
Nicely done ! Enjoyed your video and am planning my first solo cruise for r later this year. Really looking forward to it. Your video inspired me to look into other ports of call on the Caribbean side, since I'm on the West Coast
Thank you! Yea from what I've heard it pretty limited over there but either way the ports are only a small portion of the cruise. I hope you have a good first cruise!!!
Really nice job. Not just about the solo cruise aspect; also on how you approached your first day. I recently went on my first Solo Cruise on the NCL Joy. The Joy does not have a Solo area so I was lucky enough to get a Club Balcony Suite for a Solo investment. The week was lovely. Again, I want to thank you for your video. My wife and I will be on the Breakaway in December 2022 which is only 80 days away. Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
You're welcome! Thanks. You all will love the breakaway. Its a megaship but it still has an intimate feel. It's hard to explain but I really like it. I hope you all have a great cruise!
Hey! I love your videos. You’re the exact kind of person I would love to meet on a cruise ship and hang out with. I’m about to go I’m a Norwegian breakaway in a few weeks in a studio solo cabin, and I like you and the kind of person who is friendly with people my age with similar interests but I don’t like a lot of crowds I don’t like to be bothered. That spa looked amazing. Can you tell me if it’s open to everyone to use the facilities or is it only available if you book a service?
Thank you so much!! The spa is open to anyone who has a massage booked, a spa cabin, or anyone that buys a daily or weekly spa pass. I HIGHLY recommend it. Enjoy your cruise!!!
Thanks. I enjoyed your video very much, because as a solo traveler, I have often wondered what it would be like on a Norwegian cruise. I am a 68-year-old grandma, with somewhat limited mobility, and cannot walk long distances or stand for long periods, but I do like to walk as much as I can. I can ride most of the rides, and I would really like to try that Jamaican Bobsled! I have only been on 4 cruises so far, and they were all Turner Classic Movies cruises on Disney ships, because I am a HUGE movie fan, and they only have ONE TCM Classic Cruise per year, as circumstances allow. Disney ships have wonderful facilities and services, and now that I am retired, it is a little too expensive. But I am going in November, on the Disney Dream, with ports of call Grand Cayman and Disney's Castaway Cay. Last TCM cruise in 2019 was from New York to Bermuda - which was beautiful - and my favorite excursion was a SEGWAY tour. Lots of fun. Now I am also saving up for a transatlantic cruise from Southampton in England to New York - a long cruise with a LOT of sea days, which I love. I will go and watch your other videos now. Thanks again.
Oh wow cool! A lot of people want me to try out a Disney cruise and I plan to but with my family or wife. The Jamaican bobsled is really fun. It was my first one ever now I've been on about 7 all around the world. I hope you enjoy your future cruises. I would highly recommend NCL they're a great line. Also a transatlantic cruise definitely sounds amazing. Welcome to the channel!
Thank you for sharing!!! I was scheduled to do my first solo cruise this month, but have now rescheduled for 2021. Can’t wait! I’m booked on the NCL Getaway
I just booked my 1st solo cruise (7th cruise) on this ship so thanks for the tour of the Solo area. I'm doing a 13 night transatlantic so I guess that gives me plenty of time to work on my "cougar" skills! LOL
Lol. Your welcome. I want to go on one of those so bad alot of the solos were telling me there nice. Get those skills ready you never know who's out there
@@postaldee68 u literally just said u have to work on your cougar skills wtf u think a cougar is? A older women that likes younger men..so me saying I like older women wen u just said u like younger men is weird? Wtf😂😂😂
@@MrBucketlist what company are u usually cruise with? do u have someone u recommend and keep high standards throughout the cruise through? and offering the best solo cruises?
I do. Ive done 3 cruises with NCL, 2 solos and 1 with friends. When it comes to solo cruises (pre pandemic) they are the best they treat solo cruisers like VIP. Ive done a review about its program and a tour of the room on my channel check it out. It think its call honest solo cruise review part 1 or something. But no one else comes close to there program from my research. My family does Royal Caribbean alot and we had a family trip planned for dec 2020. Im sure you know how that went lol
RUclips is doing recommend vids all the time, it's time this one gets a lot of views. I am afraid of flying, and i never ever went outside of my own country, but my dream is to get on a cruise someday. This looks so much fun, so i hope RUclips will pickup on this, an spread this nice spot in the world
Thank-you! And I hate flying as well I actually did a video on it lol. Hopefully when cruising starts again you should check it out its always a good time
#TeamNo Kids lol I wish I wasn’t afraid to go on vacation solo.. idk there’s just something about being in a foreign country “alone” that freaks me out… but I can live my solo dreams through channels like yours! You would think living in Tampa I would cruise more often too.. maybe I will get the courage to go solo once lol maybe
Absolutely #teamnokids lol. Yea going to another country solo is extremely intimidating thats why I would only do it through a cruise line at the moment but im working up to being able to do it by flight as well. I've never sail out of Tampa myself and I've been here 6 years now lol. Thanks bro
Mr Bucketlist, Great Video! I still don't understand (as a single male), the difference between a regular cruise and a third vendor cruise. Please consider doing a video explaining the differences (pros and cons) of the two different types of cruises. Thanks.
Thank you! I'm not sure about 3rd vendor cruises but in regards to 3rd party vendors for excursions I've explained it before in other videos but the only main difference is one is booked and sponsored directly by the cruise line the other is not sponsored by the cruise line. So if something happens to you (mainly if you get left by the ship or hurt) and you use a 3rd party vendor the cruise line will be responsible.
@@MrBucketlist Correction: I meant 3rd party vendor for excursions. Which is preferred by most travelers: Booking directly by the cruise line or a 3rd party vendor? If there is a link that may help me understand the details of this better, please include a link, if you reply. Thanks for the reply.
@@Mike-ks3yq Sure no problem. Most people generally book directly with the cruise line due to the ease of the process and the fear of being left by the ship. Here's a good link that should help out. www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=254
A little about booking private excursions: The ships put it out there that if you aren't on one of their excursions, you'll get left behind, but if you are, they'll just wait indefinitely for you. Of course they do, because they want your money. That's not true. They have a certain amount of time in the berth, depending on the port, tides, and I'm sure other factors. If you're on a ship excursion and they have to leave, they're leaving. Yes, they're going to pay to make you right, but they are poof. If you're on a private excursion that, which is almost always the case, has 20 other people from that same ship, they are going to stay there as long as they can just like they would for one of theirs. They don't want to be in the media for leaving 20 pax behind. The key is being in communication with the ship. Like you pointed out, those vendors are often the very same ones that the ship contracts with. So do your homework, book with reputable, legit companies, and save money and have better experiences with private excursions when they're comparable to something you want to do on the ship. The people that get left behind are the ones who overstayed their welcome at the bar in Cozumel ;)
Thanks for the video! I'm planning my first solo cruise, post divorce. Very much looking forward to making new friends. How often do you cruise/travel?
I've been solo traveling for about 4 years even though it is now coming to an end. I've done 7 solo cruises and do monthly land vacations across the country.
I tried but after doing research and from experience prices change on a daily basis, and by ship and itinerary its almost limitless. I would recommend finding a line that doesn't have a solo supplement like NCL and MSC
I like this format in how you summarized your vacation. I'm OK with having a brief chat with someone on a cruise. I'm not OK with lonely & desperate trying to meet me on a cruise, or anywhere for that matter. BTW I will not take the initiative to meet people on a cruise when solo, basically to avoid those who just want to latch on to me.
Loved these videos and learned a lot. I was wondering if they had a separate dining room for breakfast and lunch. I just can’t take the buffet and the people are always rushing like they’re going to run out of food. I know about the specialty dining but I’d love to dine restaurant style on sea days. Thanks for doing these videos. My daughter used to work on a ship and I’ve paid double one time too many, even with a family discount. I’ll be doing a solo cruise very soon and hope to run into you someday.
You're welcome! I had a lot of questions myself before I started making these videos but now I just finished my 7th solo cruise and I'm hooked. Have a great cruise!
They do for the most part. The main dining room will be open for limited hours during both breakfast/lunch and dinner or if you go on NCL the speciality restaurants will have a complimentary lunch on specific days. I rarely go to the buffet on my cruises.
Really cool Vlog bro, which one was the better out of the two solo cruises you’ve been on cruise? Where there any young people doing solo cruising on any of the ships? I’m 40 not that young either 🤣🤣 but I’m just curios. Great video again.
Lol. Thanks. Yea the one girl I actually became good friends with had a solo studio as well and so did her friends. There was about 15-20 millenials with solo cabins they just didnt show up to the solos meet ups because they were turned off by the older ppl lol. And this cruise hands down was 10x better just because of the ship and the crowd on the ship. Everyone was just so friendly and there was so much to do.
Can I ask for abit if advice, I want to go on a solo cruise to see the new year in, I don’t want to be in England, what would you suggested or were would you suggest I go and book? I was looking at Royal Carribean. I’m just solo literally as my friends can’t afford it.
If you could I would try to do some type of carribean cruise either west or east those are usually the best for solos and really fun. I have a eastern carribean cruise in December myself with my family on royal but I've never been with them so idk how they are but I heard there good. Either way ships are usually packed on holidays so you'll have a good time regardless
So there were at least some young people in the solos program? I'm thinking about solo cruising but I'm only 21 and I'm scared there's gonna be a huge age gap
Yea I was worried about that too but alot of the young people all find each other after about the first day and we all became friends so that shouldn't be an issue
Thanks. I definitely do. This ship was packed with families and there's alot of things to do on the ship for all ages. Or if your just going by yourself to have a self vacation like I did its perfect for that too. Alot of cruisers I met where doing the same.
Mr Bucketlist, I liked many of your videos. I'm confused about one thing. I recently chatted with a local travel agent and told them that I would like to go on a singles cruise and she said basically that there is no cruise line that hosts specifically for singles only. I thought that there was a cruise line that will occasionally host singles cruises only. Can you explain this a little bit more in detail to me? I'm divorced, and plan on traveling solo on a cruise and would like to meet other singles. All suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks Mike! Your TA is correct. There is no cruise line that hosts singles cruises for the entire ship at the moment. So the most they have right now are either charted or hosted cruises for solos or singles. Hosted solo cruises are basically people who are solo cruising grouped as one, like the cruise I just hosted in May. Not everyone was single, but they were cruising solo. I was among the youngest as my closest friends on the ship were 62, 65, 60 and 78 lol. You all will see more about that soon.. Single's chartered cruises are usually done by private companies that rent out a portion of the ship (or the whole thing), for single people looking to find other single people. I haven't done any type of chartered cruise yet but when I do in 2024 you all will know how it goes. I would say make google or youtube singles chartered cruises.
I'm older, I'm retired, I'm not exactly solo. I have a service dog. He has been on cruise ships, but I've never taken him internationally. So I will most likely leave him home. I need to get my expired Passport updated. Can you suggest which any cruises, solo, with mobility devices? What about prescriptions? Drinks (soda, tea, juice water) packages? I DO NOT FLY! I'm a retired Pilot and I've used up my one crash limit. I've thought of AmTrack to get to ports. I live on the Gulf Coast. Any tips? I am amazed that someone can travel with only ONE suitcase. Is it possible? How do you pack? Can you do a video on packing? I only know how to pack for Sorties. I'm now a (disabled) civilian and now that my children are done with college and now it's MY time. Please give me any tips and tricks that can help a 63 year old enjoy the rest of my life. 😊 PS Keep up the good work. I'd like to see how you book your travels and not use an agent. How odd is taking a laptop on board? I write books and I always need a way to capture a thought! 😊
Sure. One of my close friends is mobility challenged so we actually did an interview about it on this channel. He's in his 70s and uses a scooter. We did an interview on this channel. If you have time, check it out. Just google MrBucketlist and Chillie Falls. He does NCL often and we both host solo cruises. Join our facebook group Passion for Cruises USA Solo to see what we have coming up.
like with friends & fam it’s the same ole story they don’t have the money or they bail out at the last minute 😂 lol to each its own but I would hate to spend my whole life never going out of the town I live or even the state i live! lol Traveling is really not expensive when u budget, especially cruises… I don’t eat out at restaurants or order food online as most do 7 days a week. in a 6 months to a year that’s a lot of savings so usually I’ll save for my trips! I have never been on a cruise always land&air trips so I’m excited to take my first cruise w Norwegian❤️❤️❤️
Yup believe I already know I had the same issue. Now they're all asking me for tips on where to go and how to travel more often. NOPE. Enjoy your cruise!

I hear you. I'm a 38 year old woman. I'm trying to get all my fun, childless and single self to do all my traveling now because I plan to get pregnant in 2 years and know those days will be long over unless I can get family to watch a baby lol.
That’s my favorite on the Norwegian cruise ship
Great Cruise and Happy Birthday.
Wow that swinger story in the spa lol
Lol
@@MrBucketlist Ppl have some nerve lol I would have been like heck naw I aint no massage therapist
Tnx to your video we are trying Norwegian breakaway

Your welcome again! Tell him almost all cruises have solo groups and programs he'll fit right in and love it lol

Okay.. you convinced me 😀
Hopefully I’ll be able to make friends.. I’m always the odd ball out lol
Lol you'll be fine everyone is usually pretty friendly and they just want to have a good time
Loved every minute of this and so funny what happened in the spa although I would be mortified. Thanks so much for sharing 😊 ⭐🤩
Lol the good ol spa. You're welcome, thank you!
I love breakaway! I went there in 2021. Those wings were Poppin!
Those wings were my absolute favorite. I hope there still included when I go back!
Your welcome. I hope you enjoy it!

Try it out bro, it's a good time.
Get those skills ready you never know who's out there
Shit I wish u we’re doing ny to Bermuda I love cougars 😂
Good grief. I'm traveling solo...not looking for a "singles cruise". There is a difference! Why did you have to make it weird?

Thanks for sharing this video😊👍🏻❤🙏u are the cool solo cruiser, cruise like a BOSS! I feel to go for a cruise after covid19 blow away!
Thank you! I agree. After cruises start back up I plan to do another one just to see how things go
@@MrBucketlist what company are u usually cruise with? do u have someone u recommend and keep high standards throughout the cruise through? and offering the best solo cruises?

Thanks bro
Awsome video. Big thumbs up :-)
Thank-you!
Brother....I'm a solo traveler looking to check off cruising on my bucket list. Time to dust off the passport and book my trip!
Enjoy it! It is worth it I promise. I did it just to say I did and literally did another one a year later it was that great
loved your video
Thank-you!
@@MrBucketlist Thanks MrBucketlist, you rock!
LOL. Oh yea. My friend got left behind in Nassau because he wanted to stay at the bar and some random house party he found. It was crazy.
Thank you
Thanks for the video! I'm planning my first solo cruise, post divorce.
Very much looking forward to making new friends.
How often do you cruise/travel?
I've been solo traveling for about 4 years even though it is now coming to an end. I've done 7 solo cruises and do monthly land vacations across the country.
I'm cracking up about the massage story!
Lol it was pretty ridiculous.
@@MrBucketlist I'm on day 2 of my first solo cruise. Just made two friends at the solo meet-up...wish me luck!
All your videos are beautiful
Thank you so much!
Have my first solo cruise on May 2022😱😱
Have fun!
I wish you had included some comparative pricing. I am a solo traveler but I have yet to do a solo cruise.
I tried but after doing research and from experience prices change on a daily basis, and by ship and itinerary its almost limitless. I would recommend finding a line that doesn't have a solo supplement like NCL and MSC
@@MrBucketlist thank you for the answer back. I have trying to find something but I guess I will try a travel agent next
I agree 100%. Thanks as well for watching!
Bro what r u talking about? Latch on 2 u? Wtf 😂
no muster drill? swingers? captive audience singing?
@@MrBucketlist but do they have dining rooms instead of the buffet for lunch and dinner?
They do for the most part. The main dining room will be open for limited hours during both breakfast/lunch and dinner or if you go on NCL the speciality restaurants will have a complimentary lunch on specific days. I rarely go to the buffet on my cruises.
@@MrBucketlist awesome. Thank you!
While the ship may be smaller, the people don't get smaller.
Sure dont
Good video👌
Thank-you
GREAT VIDEO
Thank you!
Some ships cater to younger age groups. Do your research first
Nice video, but as a father of 2 do you recommend this cruise for me?
PS Keep up the good work.
He does NCL often and we both host solo cruises. like with friends & fam it’s the same ole story they don’t have the money or they bail out at the last minute 😂 lol
to each its own but I would hate to spend my whole life never going out of the town I live or even the state i live! lol
Traveling is really not expensive when u budget, especially cruises…
I don’t eat out at restaurants or order food online as most do 7 days a week.
in a 6 months to a year that’s a lot of savings so usually I’ll save for my trips!
I have never been on a cruise always land&air trips so I’m excited to take my first cruise w Norwegian❤️❤️❤️
Yup believe I already know I had the same issue. Now they're all asking me for tips on where to go and how to travel more often. NOPE. Enjoy your cruise!
I have friends in Jamaica, is it possible to invite onto the ship? I highly doubt it, but thought I would ask.
Unfortunately no. Getting on a ship is similar to boarding a plane. No ticket no go
@@MrBucketlist thank you for your reply. I thought so. Makes sense I suppose. Hoping to go to Bermuda on NCL in October 2021 from NY.
