Super clear on how to build, ingenious use of harbor freight socket holders and I love the 30 degree angle idea. And you can do this on a budget, well done and thank you! I've watched a lot of socket organization videos and this one is what I'm going to use for my own garage.
It has worked really well. Took me years to find a solution that I liked. It's real easy to see if you lost one after a project so you can find it before it get too lost. Thanks for the comment Mark!
That's better than pegboard. You gave me a lot of great ideas. I just wanted to hang my open end wrenches, but you solved my socket issue AND showed me a better way to hang my pliers, too. Thank you and thank God for you.
Great idea, I've had the Harbor Freight racks and threw them away. Now I have to buy them again. I don't know how many times I cut myself on them. I've been looking for a method and you nailed it. Thanks
Yes that was interesting. I sure do like the 30 degree design for the height consideration. The idea sure does clear up a lot of drawer space and makes the sockets more accessible at that.
Thanks Glenn. It's funny how a simple thing can hold you up. I put off building it until I finally figured out that if I tilted them a little they would take up a lot less space and be much easier to access. Seems obvious now but took a few weeks before the idea occurred to me. Hope you have a good week and your project goes well.
Amazing, your ratchets and extensions look exactly like mine. I have them on my peg board using same magnetic bars. I have 3 magnetic bars one over another spaced about 8 inches each as I have some really long extensions and really long ratchets, but it s pretty much the same concept. Great minds think alike. Ive never bought any socket holders as they all are either failing junk or wont hold enough sockets. Ive been thinking of ways to make my own but I think your way is the best. Thanks for that. I'll start tomorrow!!!
Absolutely love this! I have a similar amount of sockets if not just a bit less, would be nice to have some rows empty so i can add more over time, can you please share the dimensions.
You know, motivation is a tough thing. I actually had those socket strips for a few weeks before I talked myself into actually doing the project. To be honest I had been frustrated by a pile of sockets and wrenches on my bench for a couple of years before I finally took the time to figure out what would work and actually do it. I find that if I can just make myself start I will usually finish the project. Good luck with your projects Peter!
Thank you just what I was looking for. I'm a noob never build anything only dog ramps, framing exterior wall for windows. Ok at repairing /replacing bathroom, deck, exterior brake work & replacement windows lacking wood working skills. Where can I get your plans?
I didn't record the dimensions because each person's sockets will very. I would suggest you line them up on a bench and then measure what size each shelf should be. Good luck with building yours!
The rack is nice but I'm not a fan of snap-in socket holders. I use them now and it's too difficult to add and remove the sockets because of the tight fit. A simple peg is better, IMO.
The socket holders don't bother me but I can see where a peg would work well and be easier. They are being moved around so the tight hold is not necessary. Good suggestion. Thanks!

You're very welcome!
sir this is one of the cleanest set up I've ever seen. nice work!
Thanks. I love it, make it easy to find them and make sure I didn't loose any.
That looks really great! For some reason this is the kind of thing that makes you just want to be in the shop.
Thanks, I was tired of having a pile on the table. Finally came up with a solution.

Nice solution, that would free up three draws in my tool chest, and the labeling is a time aver as well , well done, cheers!
Thanks Howder!

Nice efficient set up. The glue is probably overkill but I generally like to overbuild things too!
Thanks Robert!

I AM SO doing this to my tools, but I am going to use a peg board and hangers. Great idea.
Thanks!
Great video
Beautiful wall
I know you are happy with that
It's a vast improvement to what I had!
pięknie to wygląda na ścianie
What a great idea. Now if I could only find the gumption to do it!

Very nice
Thanks
Can you please share the dimensions of your socket tray? Thank you
Wow very nice
Thanks!
How many degrees is the cut?
Thanks!
I like it. Perhaps we could get an overview of your shop layout and how it is organized?
Thanks!
Those harbor freight magnets are underrated and great priced
Agreed. Thanks Ruben!
What are the dimensions of this rack?
Could you post the dimensions you used for the socket rack please? Love the idea and plan on building one if I had dimensions. Thanks!

nice design im going to try it.do you still like it
I love it. It fixed my problem and is flexible as I add more.
A cuantos grados se hace el corte??
Saludos!!
Thanks!
Thanks, funny how you go to use just one socket and the whole kit gets disorganized>drives me nuts!
This has been really great. It also helps me make sure I didn't lose a tool during a project.
Thats prestty slick. Is it still working for ya?
Absolutely but.... I should have added an empty row. I already have a couple of new sets that don't fit!!! Maybe I'll make a little one to go with it.
Have you ever heard of a toolbox/chest?
I hate thise socket strips. They dont hold up to daily use and the sockets start falling off
Ain't no dollar anymore.. the sad thing is we've moved from capitalism into just greed IMHO..
Nice video!
Thanks Tim! It's discouraging how much things have gone up.
Space saver...and you saved thousands of dollars by not buying expensive tool boxes.
Thanks William!
