We r renting a cabin in the mountains and we are going to snow board the whole time and so we really needed help and u guys helped us so thank you so so much.
I really appreciate these videos. I'm gonna be snowboarding for the first time soon and am excited. Watching these very thought out videos are good. These videos are so well thought out and well made relating it to real world stuff. Thanks guys :)
I'm a skier, but sometime I'd like to try snowboarding (since it's all fun in the snow!). Your videos are informative and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for all the effort!
It takes a bit longer to get your first binding on than it does to slip into the second one. So, you really need to be able to do it for short distances. Once you get the hang of it, it's at least as fast as walking on snow, faster if you've got to deal with some tiny hills. Check out the "Big Kahuna Snow Stick" if you want to blow by everyone on the flats. (www.gizmag.com/standup-paddlesnowboarding-kahuna-creations-snow-ready-paddle/20789/)
I was trying stepping and skating yesterday, sometimes stepping is better than walking with the snowboard. But i cant use skating, board does not slide... I will try again )
I have a problem with twisting my knee when i'm "skating" any help please! It hurts when I walk casually!! :( PLEASE HELP! BTW, ur videos are awesome...
I ride with my left foot in front (which is opposite to how it seems it 'should' be according to tests). I'd say just try it out down a small slope and see which one feels more comfortable. Their description in the video is opposite to how it works for me, but I think I may be in the minority. more info: snowboarding.transworld.net/how-to/how-to-find-out-if-you-snowboard-regular-or-goofy/
silly question from someone who's never snowboarded... but when going uphill, why don't you just take your board off and walk like a normal person instead of waddling uphill?
It's better to be prepared to walk anywhere on the mountain, you never know what you may have to quickly do (help another person, avoid something). It would be akin to popping out of your skis every time you encounter things. Not recommended, and a big PIA. :-)
You don't want to take off both bindings if you've only got 10-20 feet to move. But, yeah, if you've got a serious hike, you'd take off both bindings and walk.
Its probabl an Indian thing. Alotta Indian kids prefer the right foot forward; for example most of our skate scooters or wave board. I was always the odd one odd in the crowd cuz i would skate with my left forward... so yeah normal is different for every individual!
mohit sharma No it's not. In the context of the sport, whether for snowboarding, skateboarding, surfboarding or other sports like it, if your leading foot is your left foot, you're regular. If it's right foot leading, you're goofy.

These videos were great as an intro to snowboarding before taking my initial snowboarding lesson. Thanks, SnowProfessors!

GReat video ... going on our first snowboard trip this year and have a question.. why dont you just walk... the stepping seems very very impractical ?

binding angle may play a role in skating preference to
What if you're going down hill toward a chair lift while trying to skate, how do I slow down without ramming my foot down ridiculously?

Is something wrong with me if I skate on goofy, and ride on regular?
I was trying stepping and skating yesterday, sometimes stepping is better than walking with the snowboard. But i cant use skating, board does not slide...
I will try again )
question. when wearing snow goggles and a beanie, can the goggles and beanie overlap or should the foam on the goggles be touching all skin?

Why would I drop my board?
I find stepping such a b****. Thank you for this very informative video. Thumbs up!
on a flat surface!! when you don't have enough speed to slide on the snow
or instead of taking all day to step to the chair lift u undo ur front binding and carry ur board
Personally I prefer mine in the rear. HAHAHA!!!
this is so basic i don't understand why people would need a video for it. But thanks anyways I'm sure you helped some people out.
I'm just watching this for fun(:
right foot forwards is regular and left is goofy
