This is an excellent presentation. Stable camera, clear instruction and a little humor. If you don't have anything better to add, then keep the negative comments to yourself...as that is probably the only person that will listen.
these are very good tutorials! I mean, these are probably stuff I would learn from experience, but it's good to actually have someone to tell me these things. It makes me better at snowboarding a lot quicker. Thank you!
You two are amazing, thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I'm currently learning how to snowboard and believe me it can be FRUSTRATING. Keep practicing what is shown to you by your teachers and by videos like this and it will click. It gets better! Don't give up, you can do it:)!
Did you learn
"Or if you have no friends or coaches"
I know i'm a loser, no need to rub it in, geez... lol
You guys are awesome instructors for snowboarding
I was having real problems to make the toe turn. After watching this video I practice your advises and everything work out just fine. The series of videos for snowboard beginners really help me out. For being the second time practicing this sport I felt much more confident. Thanx!
These videos, along with two private lessons, have helped me do c-turns competently within 3 days. hooray! love these videos from snow professor!
I'm about to teach my best friend how to snowboard for her first time this weekend. I have found your advices quite simple. thanks guys!
You two are awesome!!! can't tell you how helpful you've been the past year.....THANK YOU! :)
This is a very good series of videos...I have always had trouble doing my toe turns & my utter confusion with whether I am regular footed or goofy footed...your videos, helped me confirm, I am regular footed & I will go to a mountain tomorrow & practicec my garland & C-turns....Thanks SnowProfessor!!
"If you want to have sore muscles and look like a moron, then go ahead; use your arms to turn."
"If you have no friends...." How do they know??
Great videos! I'm looking forward to trying all this the right way!
I really like the teaching school you give to the listener. All comparisons to day-to-day activities, this is the way instructors should be teaching to ride. Though I ride for couple of sessions now I see the basic mistakes I make and why I couldn't get rid of them. Tomorrow I am taking my next ride, surely will apply your suggestions and try different things:) Many thanks for great vids. Good job Guys. Cheers
you guys have the best analogies!
I really enjoyed the video. It was so helfull and better than any other videos. Thumps UP!!!
yeaaaah this tutorial it's exactly what i needed!!! can't wait to try it on the slopes! =)
thank you!
I learned to snowboard 5 years ago from these videos never took any training. Thanks
i learned 13y ago with modem 56k connection and no video at all.
Nothing can replace actual on snow lessons with an experienced coach.
Yes, same here.
Content: simple and effective, awesome.
Comedy: dire.
amazing videos guys!!!
VERY GOOD! I like the explanation of the mechanics of the turns I have taught people to ski and use similar descriptions of posture knee positions balance stance. If i would have learned on my own I would have been throwing arms etc! I just ordered my snowboard and boots, Flow merc 163 wide. im 5' 9" 255lbs. size 10 boot. Not the best board but should work. been watching your videos and will let you know how it goes. I'm looking forward to learning to shred on a board in 2013!.
Finally someone shows the propper way to learn this.
Best tutorial!..Practicing it!!
A TIP THAT CAN HELP VERY MUCH:
I've watched all the steps from 1 to 9 many times but practice it of course much different from theory and I'd like to give a tip that completely fixed my problem: I couldn't properly turn untill I made ENOUGH PRESSURE on THE FRONT KNEE (front leg). This is essence and secret of turning. Even too strong pressure.
Good luck.
ape arms? using your shoulders actually helps. it forces you to move your hips in the right direction. it's the same concept when buttering into pretzels, turning the shoulders in the correct direction will force the board and your hips around much faster. one way to control the arms and force your hips in the right direction, keep ur arms at your side like terminator and try to point in the direction u want to go. the only way to turn ur body to aim would be to twist ur hips in the right way :O
these videos are very very helpful i no im gonna be a awseome snowboarder after doing these great tips
Now i know why i kept falling when turning... ! was leaning back to much and 2 applied both toes/heels when turning at the same time... So you have to use your front toe/heel first and then back leg to finish off the turn (once your board points down the hill :P haha thanks guys.
Here from seeing you guys on Ryan Knapton's video! Come back and make some ski videos! 😁
best videos ever .thank you so much!
thanks, you guys are awesome and actually helpful
.... i rode snowboard for ONE day and had it down so far that i can do a C turn ^^ who has the time to go back to these videos ?

Haha love doing c turns on the slops!!
NOT sure why people are saying dumb ass things like, how its embaressing what you wair. and they make things complicated... are you simple minded??
i think you 2 or 3 did a great job with teaching!
i can ride pretty fast, hit jumps and boxes but i couldnt do c turns. this really helped. nice video
You guys are amazing. You're funny and educational. What a great lessons. I´ll definetly try the snow balls between arms and body tip. My arms are always flying away in all directions.@;-(. Cheers.
"get a friend or coach to hold hands with! Or if you have no friends...."
Great instructional
great work thankss
tnx you guys r awesome
So crazy because surfing everything starts with your arms and shoulders and your lower body follows. Also you really lean on that backfoot to crank a sharp turn
Lmao this is the funniest thing ever
where are you ? come on and take more videos pls
if you have no friends :|
So for C-turns just lean forward to get your toes down and heels up to make the turn?
thanks guys this literely helped me than my instructor
best video about how you should turn and not to turn on a snowboard imo.
when you explain the distribution of weights with the arrows .. the position of the rider is regular or goofy? sorry for my english !! :)
same here but im still figuring out how to so this winter ima be good a snowboarding :P
@soul06
This isn't a really long way to learn. And breaking it down to the mechanics makes a lot easier to focus. If you don't fall down while walking, you don't really need to work on balance. Plus the common problems they go over here are REALLY common. Just watch the next time you are going up the lifts!
your videos helped me so much when i started snowboarding! thank you!
@Benfro89 i tried for 2 hrs and finally got it i just bomb hills now haha
cant believe ive been looking like a moron for about 4 years, thank you so much!!!
It would help if in your videos you put a link to the first video in it.
where do you guys live where its always nice outside but then your at a mountain with tons of snow?
I always catch an edge when I try to traverse from heel to toe. Toe-side feels weird, but stopping with this side seems kinda easy, however, if your bindings are not set up properly, you'll notice right away because the amount of pressure you'll have to use in order to stop will be immense. You learn shit load on the first vacation.. you are not having fun yet, but it's a phase you can't skip. Doesn't matter if you get a guide or not.
is it ok for a binding to hang over the edge of snowboard ?
it takes a combo of arms and the right technique all the teachers at big white sunpeaks whistler and silverstar teach the arms out like a plane and looking were you want to go
Regarding the toeside turn,I understand Parts 1&2 but part 3 rotating my front knee inward to finish the turn. What does this accomplish I just don't get it????
I've been trying to do these linked for 3 days (i just started snowboarding) and i cant seem to turn on my toe eadge from my heal any help for a new snowboarder trying to get better?
I skipped ahead, no regrets
Hell yeah
nice
it is hard to turn at over 50mph without hands balancing so keep hands free and shoulders relaxed when practicing
@TheBongloard Me too :D!
Where was this recorded?
i can turn but turning the front foot first then the back foot is hard i put pressure on both feet at the same time, but i lose my balance sometimes. I seem to cut my edge too much.
wow, using the cars to help with the metaphors.. thats dedication.
2:40 LOL, "If you have no friends or coaches, use a fence or a chair"
- said to Forever Alone
@crackis4losers Thx for the help im gonna try it soon will see if i can get the hang of it :)

it's the transition phase between them
Congratulations, would you like a medal?
1:42 you crack me open XD
or if you have no friends =[
what if i press the pedal of the car very hard ? i do the same on the board?:)
@tominthetux it awful how long have u been trying ? :P
this video made me not look like a complete idiot my 1st time snowboarding
i did not go back to the first step im such a rebel
Only one question, why does he have a Javelina on his board?
I am right handed but it feels more comfortable goofy what do i do
forever alone
Thats so true. I think trying to learn from a youtube video is kinda stupid. You need to get out on the slopes and figure out how you like to ride.
Google uStomp snowboarding for more!
@Benfro89 I have the same problem
Ughh, I have some sort of a "glitch" that makes me turn the other way very suddenly when having almost completed the last turn. Then I get off balance and fall. Or I try to make very sharp turns on a baby slope and fall forward/backwards >_> I'm just so stupid.
But so is learning to snowboard via RUclips...!
whats tht board name cause i want it
2:18 the white Heskey
1:00 I always like a lady who can drive stick. :) anyways.... back to snowboarding lol
lol drive a stick.
this is pure comedy
