I purchased one in ecru one week before the price increase. While I don’t regret the purchase, I agree with you 100%. It’s not a practical bag. For me personally, it’s all about form over function. It’s more of a status symbol than anything. I think the bag is meant to be carried rather than used to carry things, if that makes sense 🙂
I've paid $50 for those fakes before. I don't care that they are not accurate. The look is the same, I will never spend thousands of dollars on any bag. *hidupz* is the way to go!
But biggest problem is that CHANEL is not fun, nor funny anymore :) People don't realize how masterfully Karl played the funny card into very serious legacy of the brand and couture know how. CHANEL was effortless, it seemed as if all of it was so easy, but we can see that its not. Karl was just beyond everyone else. It'll take years to unpack his legacy. And meanwhile we have this :D bags falling apart after a moth, go figure!
The problem with all these designer handbags from Hermes, LV, Channel, Dior, Prada, are the super abundance of fakes that are out there especially if you travel to Turkey. It's unreal. If I lived in some of these countries, I would never buy a real designer bag. These bags have become very common, and so can turn one off from every buying their bags. It's a shame, really.
I think Chanel quality USED to be very good. I have older Chanel that are quite nice. Newer, not so much. Agree on the double flap bag not being practical. It is actually difficult to use. It does not hold much for its size, and it is hard to close. I sold mine a few years ago (fortunately for what I paid for it since it was one of the still good quality ones where the stitching lined up and the flap was straight). Would never buy one now.
Not with all the crazy price increases! I think they just keep doing it to make it seem like a good “investment” bag. Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊
The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your hidupz bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be

Makes sense! It’s iconic in that it’s so recognizable. As long as you love it, that’s all that truly matters. Congrats on your new bag! 😍
I stop buying Chanel for all of this … their prices are just a joke! I prefer to pay so much for Hermès leather
Thank you so much for being my eyes and ears. You explain that so well.
