    Ideally you should have drained the oil, removed the sump, drilled your hole then welded a boss onto the sump. The way you have done it means that the thread on the brass hose tail is only gripping on about 2mm of metal. Also the teflon tape that was on that fitting is now going to be floating around in the oil, I suggest using Loctite 577 or similar, teflon tape is not the right sealant to use in engines. This is not hate, just advice from an automotive engineer.

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  6 лет назад +26

      Jamie Maskens I had to end up changing that setup anyway because it was leaking, I just ended up jb welding the fitting in the oilpan and it ceased to leak. Also I drained the oil and ran some more oil through it to clean it out, it should be good now!

      My cds are still stuck though. That thing stays trying to unjam but it cant. Ima have to rip it out.

    For the oil pressure sensor T-fitting, it's actually not a US imperial 1/8-NPT, but rather a BSPT (B for british, which is the same standard used on european and japanese cars) thread that you need for correct install. The imperial fitting has different number of thread per inch (27 instead of 28), so it might leak oil a little.

    I liked how you made this a tutorial -like video, however, If I may add something, for the Oil drain/return tapping. Drain the oil, remove the oil pan, and then drill, tap, and screw in the fitting. This will minimize ANY shavings straggling in there, and possibly getting picked up by the oil pressure, and travelling through your engine.... jut my 2 cents ;)

Stock ecu will compensate for 10 psi tops and make sure u spend the extra on good intercooler piping, oil feed and return ( good fitting make all the difference) and when u drill oil pan please take off car completely use some sort or locking agent in bung Atleast
