Marluxia is the best Org XIII member hands down. Calm, collected, badass, sociopathic, powerful, has a scythe...plus the guy makes FLOWERS the most bad ass weapon. He's always been my favorite member and he always will be.

To be fair here, you have to understand that Sephiroth was coded in this game in such a way that was only meant to interact with the intended character player. He's going to have a huge disadvantage against other a lot of other bosses in this game because many of his key attacks in this game actually aren't interacting with the opponent at all. For starters, remember the dash that he does right at the beggining in KH2? It's going right through Marluxia. Also note how Marluxia takes Sephiroth's Sin Heartless Angel, gets attacked and hit without having healed, and still survived? If either of those mechanics had worked on Marluxia, he'd be dead at 2:19 at best. Also liked how Marluxia could chill in his fire pillars, I actually never would have guessed that was a player-based mechanic (trigger commands and Sin Heartless Angel were obvious, but you'd think at least the damage aspect wasn't that difficult to just code in the free world). If KH players ever had the luxuries against Sephiroth that Marluxia had against him, we'd never even know why we love him. Just watching how many mechanics of Marluxia's work on Sephiroth is actually beginning to make me appreciate how cleanly he was coded. It reminds me a lot of the Ansem Riku fight; it was very challenging because they made a powerful bot without any parlor tricks, so naturally, there were no guides out - I remember reading a KH that detailed how to win every fight, but once it came to him, "He's gonna move around and attack really fast, and he guards sometimes too, so good luck". Sephiroth just needs more love in KH3 is all I'm saying...

Rewatching this after knowing what we know about Lauriam/Marluxia's story hits a bit differently... before this was merely a battle of villains for me, but now it's a battle between 2 guys who used to be chill and straightforward, but ended up becoming power hungry tyrants after knowing what happened to their families

Actually if you stop to think about it Sephiroth is not supposed to be able to hurt Marluxia since he's a nobody, and by the logic Nomura introduced the nobodies to us, only the Keyblade is able to hurt them and really extinguish their nonexistence. But he seems to ignore his own rule throughout the series since Donald, Goofy, Leon, Cloud and others were able to deal with the nobodies without the need of the keyblade.
But for me stands to logic that nobodies can hurt nobodies... And I'm saying about someone killing them, not they sacrificing themselves for the sake of a attack.
He introduced heartless in the same way and that turned out to not be true at all, you probably just need to have some form of magic ability or just a magical weapon since that seems to apply to every other character

are the bosses levels adjusted to be equal? i know seph is fought at a much lower level than these special bosses, who are maxed out. seph is only around level 50 in kh2. maxed out his hp would be monsterous
Actually he/she isn't playing as anyone. The person recording just switches cameras and points of views to get a new look on that characters perspective.
It doesn't nessisarily mean that he lost. He is interested with marlucia's fighting style. I see how you are making assumptions but don't think too into things. Just a piece of advice
Sephiroth lost to a guy whose main form of attacking does ZERO damage. Remember most of marluxia's attacks attack your doom counter not you and are even programmed to deal zero damage!

At 2:49 it looked like Marluxia just dispelled the darkness by thrashing his Scythe into the ground. It looked awesome to me, at least.
