That little finisher at the end is probably one of the sickest finishes I ever seen in your vids.
Kinda late saying this, but that is literally one of the only ways to beat him, you barely have enough time to get to him and actually hit him. the easiest method is to use your focus.

Gotta respect Marluxia as a boss. There aren't many, that when they drop to 1 hp, go into their armor state in order to desperately try to hold on.

@DeeSmokez Gaming what are you struggling with? If it's his dm (desperation move) then watch will's no damage run it helped me out a lot since I could understand when to block or when to dodge. The rest of his kit is just learning and muscle memory

Fun fact for those who don't know, if you use fire on marluxia after he has his armor on, you can stun and knock him out of it.
I'm pretty sure this is the Data Fight I'm going to rewatch the most. Marluxia's fighting style is so pretty, and the way you destroy him is so satisfying.

The fact that you have a window of about 2 real time seconds to finish him is just incredible. Really tests two crucial aspects of Kingdom Hearts gameplay: staying cool when the odds seem stacked against you and reacting in the most crucial moments. Panic and go too early, and you lose. Don’t react in time and go too late, and you lose. You’ve got to hit the sweetspot, simple on paper but the real obstacle is your own ability to make it count.

I remember back in the day when I thought Kingdom Hearts couldn't make a harder boss than Sephiroth. Then we got KH2's Data Rematches and Lingering Will, and then we got the Mysterious Figure, and now... Now we have 13 beings created from the fires of hell who all have the potential to end you in less than a minute
What's scarier is that there is still a secret boss that is apparently harder than all the data fights. I haven't gotten there yet but I know I'll be struggling a lot.

Well traditionally in final fantasy doom is a counter ticking down so it works more like that here

This man is a good at KH games
Marluxia is a character who definitely benefited from Union χ.
He was rather interesting in Chain of Memories, but him and Larxene were merely ambitious traitors who wished to overthrow the Organisation.
Union χ gave both of them a backstory and their interactions in 3 are beautiful.
I hope we get to see more of them in Kingdom Hearts 4.

You're here doing no damage runs while I'm banging my head against a wall wondering why I can't get Dark Riku past his 4th bar of health.
I'm actually suffering from that fight. Kill me.
Edit: As of right now, I've put in 4 hours of work and got past half.
Edit 2: Finally did it. Now on to Saix.
I'll tell you why
Because the time frame to block his damn dark aura is a milisecond
And he spams it like mad
I struggled with it at first but then I went back and got myself the Ultima Weapon and all the bosses (except Luxord and the other who have yet to be unlocked) have been a breeze.
Attack him after he does the counterattack thing with his reflect/block and when he sets a tower of mines and sends you that red disc and the ground trap. He's vulnerable at those times! Try to save your keyblade transformations that have automatically unlocked the final command to stall if you are trapped by his rage mode barrage too! (Ultimate and rage form, among others)
Yeah dark Riku was mad annoying to beat! Took me like 3 hours on crit

Pretty sure the next job for FFXIV is gonna' be Reaper. And I think a lot of their move set will actually be based on Marluxia. Yoshida at the announcement for Endwalker was wearing Sex Pistols shirt, with a Reaper on it. In the Live Letter a few hours later, he was wearing a Grim Reaper shirt. This makes me extremely excited to see some possible KH inspiration in XIV! :3

If u guys want to cheese this fight (for high lvls) at 1:22 when the dm start do what he did in the video but when the skull comes up in ultima form u can spam atk on him itll break his armor and go to reg hp. Dont dispell yet keep on atking his defense is pretty much 0 doesnt counter or block u can get him down to 1 hp with 3 combos then dispell and do his last dm move. Easy win if u time everything right

This is the third time I’ve gotten him to zero health and I just can’t do shit about the last death counter. I really hate it
Believe it or not, but it seems like the real danger of that last death counter is that it is meant to stress you out and provoke you into attacking him while he is literally INVINCIBLE. The only time you can hurt Marluxia (also the only time he removes his armor) occurs when the death counter is about to run out. It would be wise to just survive his initial onslaught and just quickly clip him with a shotlock or a spell once he becomes vulnerable.

Same. 🙈 I've reached that final counter maybe 10 times now. He's the last one I have to beat in order to unlock further doors.
I kinda wish they kept the "Do you want to scream?" from Chain of Memories with the Doom attack.

You learned the bosses so quick
I saw some openings in my own experience. Pink aura with armor means that he'll just staggering to any fire magic and so I generally doubleflight, firaga, and airstep. For the 4 teleporting hits, after the unblockable, you can airstep to him for a combo but the window is very very small. But now that I see this vid, I think I can do this without kupo coin now that I see how to dodge some more moves. Well it's more of a matter of reflexes for me tbh since I know how to defend against most of his moves
I beat him just tonight, it took about two? three tries? when he did his little doom thing near the very end, I panicked but I managed.
Yea I swept the floor with him until that final counter, so here I am trying to figure out what I did wrong. I guess it purposely pushes you down to the wire before he's vulnerable to the final hit. Ughhh

For me its Young Xehanort. But its because i dedicated like 5 straight hours to that and after that my energy to fight the rest of the organization is gone lol

His retaliation during the doomsday counter is different from normal. You can get a full combo when his armor is broken and then dispell for another free combo right after.

The very end of this fight when the scythe is going back and forth is so entertaining to watch I love it

Trying to do this today and man, that DM at the end just fucks my shit up lmao.
Marluxia was my 1st Data Battle since from what I've seen(before I started my Re:Mind playthrough),he seem to be one of the easier ones.
Plus,he's one of my favourite OrgXIII members(right behind Axel and Roxas).
So of course I'd have him to be my first ever Data battle and man,the devs DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
He's hard,but he's not too hard,let alone unfairly hard.
He requires you to have good timing,memory and pattern recognition.
He's a good start out of all of the Data Battles,imo.
And can we talk about how damn BREATHTAKING his fight is?
Not only did they reuse some of the moves that he had,even the ones that were all the way back from "that one in infamous KH game(Chain of Memories)",but he also has some new ones or even the same old ones but with a twist.
My favourite example has got to be his iconic DOOM COUNTER as it went back to its original roots.
It follows the same rule as the one from CoM instead of KH2 since it's a *COUNTDOWN* where you have to quickly interrupt him,lest you'll meet your demise,just like the one during his final boss in Re:CoM.
I really love that(especially since Final Marluxia in Re:CoM is one of my favourite final bosses in KH,or even just bosses in general).
Oh,and that music though.
This new rendition of "Lord of the Castle" is just so AMAZING,MAGNIFICIENT,GORGEOUS EVEN!

Whenever it happens,my heart would immediately start beating in such a fast manner.
Combined with the fact that the Doom counter is ticking down rapidly just made it so much more nervewrecking,but the moment you do finally get to hit him at the last few ticks...
Man,that was undoubtedly one of the mosy satisfying moments I've ever had in KH.
I was so happy and nervous to the point where I literally had a hard time breathing.
Plus,my heart was beating so hard that I bet you could even hear it.
Overall,Data Marluxia is such a fantastic and beautiful fight and it'll forever be,one of the best Data Battles or even bosses,in the entire KH Series

You’re a fucking beast for handling his final attack perfectly without ever experiencing it. Took me almost 20hrs to beat him, and I only beat the last fast because of rage mode.
