Watching Riddles play Kazuya keeps me watching Smash content. I'm a tekken player and Smash is really awkward for me to get, especially with Kazuya since I play him in tekken, but I think they did a great job with him in Smash.
Same here I started with tekken and starting to get into smash contents Axiom xl and riddles were the first smash tourney videos I watched due to their kazuya lol
For me it's the opposite. Smash introduced me to KoF and Tekken, and since watching videos and doing research on those games, I've now become very interested in the characters and lore of the games. They have so many random details about characters (like how Kazuya collects sneakers), and I love stupid stuff like that. However, when I actually try and play "real" fighting games I suck ass (with the exception of Mortal Kombat). At least with Smash I'm good enough to get into elite smash but bad enough to immediately get knocked out of elite smash. Fighting game characters have some of the greatest character designs ever in my opinion, which is part of why I love Terry and Kazuya so much, even if I don't play their games. Fighting games are so fun to watch, and I'm watching Maximilian Dood and Justin Wong all the time; those guys are great and so entertaining to watch. The history and fanbase behind fighting games is interesting, and seeing how much people care about these games, new and old, is really awesome, even if I'm not personally a part of that fanbase for the same reasons most fans are. I felt underwhelmed with the final Smash direct, but I'm now realising that more than anything else, Smash has allowed me to indirectly discover amazing games such as Tekken! I salute you Sakurai, even if you did add Min Min to the game >:(
Believe it or not, since I was younger I started playing some different fighting games, such as street fighter, tekken, mortal kombat, injustice, the king of fighters, marvel vs Capcom (3) and finally around 3 years ago smash. I like the fact I know pretty well the lore of all them and it feels very nostalgic to me seeing Ryu, Ken, Terry, and Kazuya in smash. This year I discovered guilty gear and I loved it, for real bro that game has too many, BUT TOO MANY details and interactions between each character that's insane, it's like you're watching an anime haha. Also the music, what can I say, it's unique, it's like a combination of heavy metal and orchestra (it's not only instrumental, each character's theme has a singer, the developers literally searched a band)
@@baldigang hitboxes, recoveries, die too easily, platforms are like ssbu, only worse, rollback doesn’t work, bad training mode for being a “competitive” game. No alt color skins, no character voices, models are really weird and don’t look good in the 3D style they went for, and an odd choice of roster. The game is very clearly on a budget, if anyone actually thought it would compete with smash they’re dead wrong, even if Sora didn’t come out, people only played it before Sora came out, and then went “Nick all stars? Oh yeah that’s a thing”

I think 99% of people just wanted to try a fun new platform fighter with our favorite childhood cartoon characters for a little while. I was not expecting it to last a super long time tbh.
People after watching your matches always say Kazuya is broken without realizing that you're the best. The combos or inputs you do are ridiculously hard to pull off consistently.
Literally everyone thinks kaz is so broken when really it requires such an insane amount of skills, nerves, consistency, and mental fortitude, it takes a literal genius to play the character

Learned recently that you can buffer Left Splits Kick in the air after the peak of a short hop, like his other command inputs, makes it easier to do retreating short hop reflector
Can confirm: consistently reflecting with Kazuya is stupid hard. That said, it is so powerful that you really should get the movement consistently. It's super dumb, you just take entire stocks.
Yeah, Sora is on the slightly lighter side, but his small size combined with his aerial mobility and recovery means he's harder to hit, cannot be hit by certain combos and cannot be as easily edgeguarded as other characters either. So unless he gets hit by a hard hitting attack at high percentages near the blast zone, he'll likely survive and make it back to stage. IMO Sora still needs a very light weight nerf to like 82 or even 80 from 85 to really balance him out.
Hey dude maybe shoutout Aaron in the title or description, pretty hard to determine who best Sora is when everyone from MKLeo to Little Z is claiming to be the Sora god
its smash you can buffer ff3 (forward forward A on kaz) you can buffer electrics and ff during other actions in smash. in tekken you can only buffer the first part of an input. for example to buffer ff3 in tekken after whiffing jab you would only store the first forward input during the jab and then press the second forward after your recovery is over + the 3 button to get the left splits kick. in smash bros you can buffer the entire move during almost any other action. so you can perhaps shield something, mash forward forward A, and then left splits kick will come out automatically at the end of your shield stun recovery. you can also buffer left splits kick during left splits kick to just do it over and over in smash. true you will need a read to use it as a reflector, but its cause it's supposed to be a high risk high reward tool. its a really strong tool in smash and one of his main moves in tekken. i would totally like to see you use it more in smash, but im bad at smash lmao what do i know.
Yeah RUclips comments have been plagued with comments about the "Highest reflector in the Game OP DLC" with defense to their claims like "I can hit EWGF after 3 tries in training mode, he's really easy to play please nerf" and even worse takes like "he can be slightly juggled so what" like seriously.
Also sucks that only tekken and fgc players can appreciate and enjoy kazuya gameplay. I feel that general smash audience sees kazuya as a brain dead character who can just magically pull a 0-death out of his ass. Unfortunately most players don't want to even take the time to learn his moves and it's much easier to complain about a character that is completely foreign.

That's what it felt like to me when I would watch elite Kazuya players in Tekken but I could barely do anything that they could do. Now I'm able to do those things after putting a lot of time into the game.

Left Splits Kick's very hard to time + really hard to reflect against someone like Samus. Maybe with Sephiroth or some of Hero's projectiles then maybe but Samus? Even a fully charged Neutral B comes out relatively fast than most projectiles

People that complain about Kazuya, simply haven't played him. I know that the majority of Smash players haven't touched an actual fighting game, If they did, they would know that the input in EWGF is 2 frames which is stupidly accurate. You think you are synchronized until you try to do EWGF consistently.

People see or hear the 1.4 multiplier and think it automatically makes it broken, but its literally a reward for actually getting the timing and input correct, while also hitting the opponent before they escape.
What controller do players like Riddles use to get this fast with Kazuya? I feel like Joycon and Pro Controller aren't good enough, but my GameCube Controllers always break.
