- This is a video of Kerbal Space Program where I demonstrate how to build and launch a space shuttle. I use this as an opportunity to also show off a unique payload that I wanted to put into orbit.

Interesting construction, but during the construction you could already see that you will have problems with re-entry and landing at the latest.
If you let the thrust vector of the OMS engines run through the mass point of the orbiter then you have no problems with nose down or up. For correct adjustment Bring the shuttle into the state it is "flying" in orbit. Only set the thrust of the main engines for setting to 0 then you only see the thrust axis of the OMS. Do not ignore the fuel consumption. The same applies to the coordination for the landing, position of mass and lift point to each other. And please just set the main landing gear a little behind the mass point and not at the very end, just looks more original, the landing later too.
I don't know if you are going to read this but there is an setting on the landing gear that is called "deploy shielded" and if you turn that on then the landing gear would deploy even if it's in an cargo bay or fairing

Semi-long post to give you a little bit of assistance on the space shuttle systems:
The OMS pods were used toward the end of launch to assist with orbital insertion and for the deorbit burn. Both the OMS pods and RCS burned hypergolics, MMH and N2O4.
On launch you are correct that the shuttle's payload bay should be facing the the earth then rotates around to take better advantage of the tracking and data relay satellites. The first number of missions released the external tank towards space instead of toward Earth. Tank separation is roughly a minute or so after MECO.
Reentry angle on the shuttle is ~40 degrees and does use RCS through reentry through entry interface as it tilts in different positions creating a slight "S" curve to distribute the heat throughout the heat shield and help bleed off extra speed.
There is a simulator called Space Shuttle Simulator 2007 that I have which was designed with the sole purpose of being as realistic as possible when it comes to the missions themselves including the proper procedures.

I absolutely can and have . I didn’t record it because I feel the ISS is done a lot, and I wasn’t prepared to do it justice. Some people launch the modules in order!
