Wow. One of the best scifi short movies I've seen. Brilliant concepts, designs and visual effects. It really felt like a creepy existence for the main character and the world. Excellent work. I'm bookmarking this film.
I still come back to watch this from time to time. It’s amazing. And PostPanic, you guys are absolutely incredible. After watching your OFFF 2011 opening titles and Mischa Rozema’s talk I was hooked.
Packed full of ideas, some old and some new. Incredible that someone put so much effort into this short. Destined to be underappreciated by people who need everything explained to them. I found it stimulating.
I can't believe that they make it in México :D, is amazing, i know all those places, El estadio Azteca, La biblioteca Vasconcelos, La linea marrila del Metro :D, very impressive
WE CANT LET THIS HAPPEN. Make everything you do beautiful and this shall be averted. Architecture, food, relationships, vehicles, your morning shits! EVERYTHING. Work towards beauty and love my friends. It is the only way to save ourselves
That is so original and it could only happened outside of Hollywood ,were every movie is pre-made and then assembled like in a factory. The vibe and tone is akin to the fascinating movies that used to be made in the 30s. Brilliant original and entertaining work.
A script worthy of Rod Serling, the best visual effects I've seen anywhere (especially the opening and ending sequences)... sweet Jebus, aside from the soundtrack being too loud, this was perhaps one of the best short/indie films I have seen yet! A+++!
So it's every Hollywood sci-fi destruct-o-rama of the past 20 years, made with a fraction of the budget and 100 times the pretension? Can't wait to miss this!
+James Mason and it was recorded in México, I was living around there www.google.com.mx/maps/@19.3848185,-99.1903211,3a,75y,286.94h,82.79t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1shhk115v2zpruQLcrbzcT_A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 here is the location
+isaac rodriguez Wow so many times have I seen the 8 laws of anxiety stylistically represented in this. We are very blessed to have such a medium to actually think freely.
The Guy made the short with only 50.000dollars ...give him 10millions dollars 🔥🔥🔥... Stunning visuals but i dont understand what really happened. Seems to be a very dark dystopian background.
Visually, it's absolutely incredible and you should be very proud. But narratively, and especially the script of the voiceover, actually made me stop the film in frustration to write this. I've seen and heard this kind of story so many times already, and yes it's been very professionally produced, but production values alone would never make me sit through a feature length film.
+MASSIF101 Specific line that made me realise I would never sit through an hour and a half of this, "what if everything you knew, was just a made up story...an illusion...a lullaby" I have nothing against that as a narrative element, a great many of my favorite films use it centrally, but it's treatment here is just so done. I'm sure you guys will put out a brilliant film, I'm only criticising the writing... and the voice acting, that's a big part I don't like.
164,000 views. This should have 164 million views. Bravo! I can not believe that an independent studio was able to make something of such astounding quality. I see WB picked you up for a feature. They must still have a few smart people left over there. Peace...
Looks ambitious and interesting. I hope the actual story is as compelling as this short, it should be quite a film if done correctly. Kudos to the group that made this!
Human 'civilisation' is only a brief flash of lihutbupon a world that has obly recently emerged from, and will shortly be returning to, conditions inconceivably alien to those we assume to be so stable. Powerful film, well shot. The military technologies are real enough...
I've been a fan of PostPanic Pictures ever since I saw this video 'SUNDAYS' A totally understated creation of genius that should be made into a feature film. I would love to have time to have a couple of movies made with this kind of talented creation.
Very interesting storyline with everything that is going on nowadays and absolutely amazing visual effects and cinematography. I hope this concept will be turned into a real film. Would be the first one to get a ticket for the cinema. Cheers!
Not sure if this is what the director and screenwriter were going for, but this short is much more in line with the work On Computer Simulated Universes than movies like the Matrix.
+HelloImYourMind The world he knows is literally breaking down. being corrupted and no longer able to hold its program. It appears in the end the company he works for is also the systems recovery program making attempt to fix the mess.
It seems like there’s a lot of art house existential critics here giving the 5 cents worth. For me I enjoyed the concept and it’s execution , it provokes thought and questions, that’s me done.
i'm honestly not all that sure. i am guessing it's a meteor and the fake world is so people keep working and don't realize there is drab nothingness surrounding them
I think at the beginning, a solar eruption makes all satellites and airplanes crash down on Earth causing much destruction. Then there is an over-the-top rebuilding effort where everything destroyed is papered over, including not just buildings but people (the MC being a clone or android with memories uploaded) and mountains.
Masterful. Bravo!!! I have watched this like 5 times or more. The dark vibe is chilling and touches me profoundly every time... and the music. Awesome! (check out Ben Lucas Boysen´s other work and this soundtrack on Spotify) one has to understand that this short is not meant to be movie on it´s own, hopefully we´ll see a full feature film some time soon (? I hope). By far the best proof-of-concept short i´ve come across on youtube, and I´ve seen them all ;-) Did I forget any superlatives? :-) No I´m not paid to say all this, it´s just that this presentation knocks my socks off
Back in Ancient Greece, Pythagoras founded a school that studied the basic philosophical concept of its creator about the illusion of everything that exists and the reality of exclusively numbers and their endless combinations, which form all the phenomena of foreseeable being, subject to human cognition. The idea that reality is nothing but an illusion was put forward after Pythagoras by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, who came to the conclusion that only ideas are material, and other objects are just shadows.
Fantastic production; a dark poem unfolding itself repeatedly
After all these years still one of my favourite short Sci-Fi and Ben Lukas Boysen is my favourite artist.
Good stuff. What's the estimated budget for the whole short film and not only the 5 day Mexico shooting?

Vibes of Matrix, Inception, The 13th Floor, Vanilla Sky, Dark City, Total Recall etc etc...
I can't believe that they make it in México :D, is amazing, i know all those places, El estadio Azteca, La biblioteca Vasconcelos, La linea marrila del Metro :D, very impressive
I still watch this almost every Sunday...
?
It's very!!! Each frame is made as a separate photo.
WE CANT LET THIS HAPPEN. Make everything you do beautiful and this shall be averted. Architecture, food, relationships, vehicles, your morning shits! EVERYTHING. Work towards beauty and love my friends. It is the only way to save ourselves
The best Sci-Fi short around. A true benchmark for all sci-fi filmmakers. Hats off!
That is so original and it could only happened outside of Hollywood ,were every movie is pre-made and then assembled like in a factory. The vibe and tone is akin to the fascinating movies that used to be made in the 30s.

This is one of the greatest short films i have ever seen and I watch a lot of short films! Well done!
I would pay for a copy of this. This is by and far, one of the most breathtaking things I've ever seen. Soo powerful. Thank you for sharing.
This is one of the best sci fi stories I've come across. At least it made it to the fringe of reality.

50 Grand and still better directed, acted and produced than most billion-dollar blockbusters.
La ciudad de Mexico ♥️
Chocolate and Vanilla came out of Mexico, and now this. Keep up the good work.
The Matrix meets Dark City meets Deception...nice short though!
constantinecy My thoughts exactly.
and Malick narration
Amazing! !! Mexico City 😍😎💜
Excellent. Much better than most of what I've seen on youtube. Very thought provoking. More please.
Wow that was fascinating to watch, epic, intense, I really want to see this, hope it becomes reality. It was just excellent to watch.

'What if?' by Lennox, Parfum de l'homme. The scent of futility.
Brilliant, amazing, stunning... love it...

Wow, excellent! What a great job! Visually it is phenomenal! Stunning!
Holly..! The amont of work in this is unbelivable. Looks more of a 50M $ film then 50K. Well done!
Amazing, simply amazing!
Absolutely brilliant. Well impressed.
This footage is absolutely beautiful. And the narrative is flawless. And on a relatively small budged!? Holy shit.
amazing cinematography, and thought. This helps alot as i am in the process of creating my own production. It looks awesome.

I would love to see this made into a full length movie or even a film.
Awesome! .. on par with almost anything Hollywood puts out these days. More please?
300 comments only? I still view this as a masterpiece.
This is gorgeous... just stunning.

WB bought the rights in 2015 but nothing has happened since
@@serraramayfield9230 That's a shame. It would make a great full movie if they invested in it
Excelente cortometraje!!!
This looks absolutely amazing.
Wow! Excellent cinematography ! Great narrative. More please.
I thought this would be about solar flares destroying the planet but now I'm not sure what's going on at all. So many questions...
There's a movie out there for you, but if I tell you which one it is I'll ruin the ending.
Visually stunning - great SFX
it's realy good, this is perfect, good luck with film!
This is amazing!
Amazing!
Amazing. Writer & Director are going places.
This is a Masterpiece. Period.
Very interesting storyline with everything that is going on nowadays and absolutely amazing visual effects and cinematography. I hope this concept will be turned into a real film. Would be the first one to get a ticket for the cinema. Cheers!
Um excuse me, but why don't you just go on ahead and make this into a full film for my viewing pleasure! 😀😀 Thanks! Good job.
This reminds me of Franz Kafka. You've earned this like.
why? I wanna read from him, tell me please :))
Not sure if this is what the director and screenwriter were going for, but this short is much more in line with the work On Computer Simulated Universes than movies like the Matrix.
Linda Bronstein Agreed. Good short little book.
Wow. I'm not sure where it's going, but it grabbed my attention from start to finish.
I heard this has generated some serious interest. I would definitely see it if it comes to fruition as a full film.
This is so good, it already looks like it's a clip from a legit full-length film! Incredible!👏👏👏
this really looked awesome! :)
the best voice for narration. beautiful
This short film, was amazing! Is it available on iTunes? If it is, I'll buy it.
I don't know what just happened but I loved it...
+HelloImYourMind The world he knows is literally breaking down. being corrupted and no longer able to hold its program. It appears in the end the company he works for is also the systems recovery program making attempt to fix the mess.

All I can say is "Wow!"
It seems like there’s a lot of art house existential critics here giving the 5 cents worth. For me I enjoyed the concept and it’s execution , it provokes thought and questions, that’s me done.
Not too sure how I felt about the middle and end, but that intro was fucking fantastic.
Just awesome!

Fascinating...
EXCELENTE CORTOMETRAJE!!
So amazing!
This is great. Visually stunning and thoughtful.
How does this have so little views? Its amazing!!!
yeah the effects are cool but please someone explain me what's the sense of this short film?
jamesmcsparron I see in this film theory of Big Crunch with timey-wimey stuff. Can you explain it in detail?
jamesmcsparron That was beautiful... Your words are very well said.
i'm honestly not all that sure. i am guessing it's a meteor and the fake world is so people keep working and don't realize there is drab nothingness surrounding them

It is about a future where a simulacrum of the past is failing
2 minutes in and youre already blowing my mind. Great great great job!

wish the city destruction scenes lasted longer, pretty awesome stuff here !
Extremely well done. Will be looking forward to Bloomkamp's full length version.
Excelente corto!! ya veremos la versión larga... ¿por que nos sacaria la lengua Eistein?
I need more, great work
Well done. Keep it up for the next level.
Well done...✅
Amazing work👍👍👍
Says a lot and quality off the scale .
Looked good but what was it about?
Magnifique !
I'm in high school one of my classes is video production I think I'll tell my teacher about this.
Masterful. Bravo!!!
