    It never occurred to me that i had DR. I need a medical diagnosis to determine it obviously but so far this list of symptoms definitely fits my current situation. I work retail. I’m on my feet all the time. I am constantly on the move… and before my 1st hour on shift I am DOUBLED OVER in pain. The only relief I get is when I’m on lunch for 30 minutes where I sit in my car for the entire 30 minutes almost crying from my back hurting. It takes the wind out of me… it’s the worst pain ever. This pain is so bad it causes me to leak on myself if I sneeze or cough I pee…. I’m trying to do my job but the pain is so bad it almost immobilizes me…. Idk what to do. I need my job….
    Having kids and carrying my daughter so low was extremely hard. I was on bed rest for most of my pregnancy so I sat around all day every day and got big basically… I ended up having chronic back pain then after getting up and moving… i ended up giving birth unmedicated and very rapidly too. I used my only ab muscle to push my daughter out…. In 2 good hard pushes and it was HARD omg. I have no issue with constipation. I never have to push very hard for that but the times I had to, it was BEYOND HARD.

    thank you. this explains so much of the progression of my symptoms after my hip injury. i gained a lot of weight after i injured the hip do to limited ability to move around as much and then the weight gain from it and the diastasis recti. it explains so much of the problems i been happening since the injury. i thought it was just the problems from my hip spreading but this explained so much more.

      I'm glad this video could be such a helpful resource to you! Yes, any forceful, forward pressure on your abdominals and the compensations that your body is making due to muscle imbalance will often cause your core to weaken and eventually lead to diastasis recti.
      The good news is, this is our specialty! I encourage you to look into our Core Foundations program. We can help you heal your diastasis while regaining the strength you need to maintain that strength as well as optimal alignment so you can do everyday activities with little to no pain. If you're interested, you can look more into this here: online.thetummyteam.com/core-foundations
      If you have more questions about what we do or anything else we'd love to help you! (You can do so here: online.thetummyteam.com/contact)

    explained in so much details.. thank you so much.. my mom is suffering from this from past 30 years I guess.. along with these symptoms she also have breathing problems.. she says, when she breaths normally she feels organs moving down and after sometime when she wants to take deep breaths she feels internal organs move upwords and squeezes lungs making it difficult to take deep breaths.. then she start having continuous burps like 14 to 15 burps. and also yawning to take deep breaths. is it also a symptom of diastasis? the breathing problem is making difficult for her to do any exercises as we need to breath more during exercising. while sleeping she ties some clothes under her chest which helps her to breath.

    I’m so dying from this right now. 😱 I am too small to have carried 4 babies. I love my kids, but my body is messed up. On top of this I suffer with the Pain of IC-H Interstitial Cystitis with Hunners Ulcers. 3rd highest Pain that never goes away. Higher than 4th Stage Bladder Cancer. 14 years I’ve survived. I’m living but I have NO LIFE. I’m trapped in my painful body and I can’t get out. Many with IC choose death. I can’t make that choice. But thinking of living like this for the next 20 years leaves me feeling so very bottom hopeless. I had to stop teaching kindergarten... my passion. I’m not a wife anymore. I live on State Disability.
    SO VERY LOST.
    I have tons of hot pins and needles under breast bone to bladder wrapped around my back. Feels like a huge snake is squeezing me tight. I had Diastias Recti Repair 19 years ago. It’s back with a vengeance. Doctors have no help for me. I’m horribly constipated. I live and eat to poop. I don’t like going to sleep Pain so bad.
    I don’t want to wake up anymore

      Weightlifting challenges your core and until your diastasis is rehabbed and you have been taught how to coordinate your core muscles in multi-tasking activities such as weightlifting, you should hold off. This is the kind of stuff we address in our rehab program. I would highly recommend doing our Core Foundations Online Rehab Program: thetummyteam.com/product/core-foundations-8-week-online-program/

    Do you offer any videos on safe exercises for core strength? Also, I have some advanced prolapses and am wondering if diastasis recti could be contributing to the this problem. If I’m rebuilding corset strength will the prolapse symptoms decrease? I was told I need to have surgery (hysterectomy and possibly rectal prolapse surgery) to repair the prolapses. I’d rather not have surgeries if I can find an alternative though!

    • @ThetummyteamWA
      @ThetummyteamWA  5 лет назад

      Great questions! Your core and pelvic floor are very similar in their structure and function. So it is very possible that the weakness in both areas are affecting each other, considering your diastasis and prolapse. Your pelvic floor is what we like to call the "floor of your core." So, if one is not functioning the way it needs to, the other could also be compensating and/or failing to do so as well. So you are absolutely correct that improving your core strength can also help improve the condition of your pelvic floor.
      Unfortunately diastasis recti and functional core weakness is very under diagnosed which is why we are trying to spread the awareness and let people know that surgery is not the only answer! We do functional core and pelvic floor rehabilitation which I believe you could really benefit from. All fitness requires foundational strength and awareness of how you are using your core and pelvic floor. So we help you heal in a step by step process so you are able to continue with fitness. If you are interested I suggest that taking our Core Foundations and then our Floor of Your Core Add-on courses would help you heal and regain the foundational strength you need for everyday life and for continuing fitness! Fortunately, in honor of Diastasis Recti Awareness Month, we are currently having a Summer Sale until Aug 2nd where all of our programs are 25% off. I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity.

    I have a 3 month old baby and I have a 4 finger gap and I was wondering if bening down affect my diastasis

    • @ThetummyteamWA
      @ThetummyteamWA  4 года назад +1

      Hi Brilliana! It all depends on how you are using your core and your alignment. If you are hunching over & bulging your core, this could potentially contribute to further damage to the diastasis as it is caused by forceful forward pressure against the abdominals. However, the good news is we have a great example of how you can modify the way you bend down to contribute to functional core strengthening. Kelly describes this technique in one of our videos about putting the baby in a crib ruclips.net/video/eI5KWc4-wZc/видео.html
      We also have a graphic named "Parenting Postures: The Play Pen" along with other parenting posture graphics that demonstrates this technique at online.thetummyteam.com/free-resources/#parenting-postures
      We'd love to help you heal your diastasis and give you the tools to live functionally strong! I encourage you to take a look at our Core Foundations course that specifically addresses this condition as well as other symptoms at online.thetummyteam.com/core-foundations

    Is it possible to have a diastasis only or more on one side or the other?

    • @ThetummyteamWA
      @ThetummyteamWA  4 года назад

      Diastasis recti is when the center connective tissue running down your abdominal wall is stretched causing a separation. This is often caused by consistent forceful forward pressure against the abdominals. If you'd like to learn more about this condition and how you can further identify it, take a look at online.thetummyteam.com/diastasis-recti-and-functional-core-weakness/

    Hey guys!
    The diagnosis of the doctor that I have DIASTASIS and 2 holes possibly from bad exercise .... told me about a surgeon but first to spend a little time .. I have 6 months the problem but whenever I do gymnastics (ventricles and whatever) I turn to the outside and a few times I cut the anus. is that normal? I AM MAN NOT WOMAN!

    • @ThetummyteamWA
      @ThetummyteamWA  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, men do get diastasis and it is often from poor muscle activation in the core with fitness. When the core is weak and presses out for support, that pressure also goes down into the pelvic floor. Pelvic floor pressure in men can affect the prostate and the rectum. Even though most of our clients are women, we do work with men and they do very well in our program. I would look into our Core Foundations program.
