I've played ark since its release on xbox, but I still watched people play, ever since the game came out and I remember the two tone music themes, day, and night, the game has improved immensely, especially the graphics and the music, THANK YOU, for making this happen.
I learned so much about dinosaurs and human nature playing this game. I know the names of many dinosaurs and the ways that cavemen used them (lol) and I know that without any system of law, people would just kill each other and take each other's shit on sight. Who says games don't teach you anything.
I remember the glory days of Ark. I started out as a simple man looking to find my place in the chaos that is The Island. I managed to get to a high level with good gear. Then one day I was out hunting paras when I came across a building in the middle of nowhere. I was surprised when I found someone had actually built a tavern where they gave out beer jars (since the area was rich with farmable resources). I went in and there I found someone who was hoping to take down a Giga. He said that he knew the whereabouts of one but he needed at least three more people to do it. Me, being kind of bored and not in the mood to get drunk, took the offer. The next morning me, a man wearing ghillie armor on everything but his head which had flak, a man who’s flak armor covered everything to the point where you could barely see his face through the eyeholes, a man who wore Chitin armor and wielded a bow, then the man who hired me, a man dressed in pelt armor. We were all ready to begin our journey. Along the way we were attacked by wolves, almost killed by a horde of titanomyrma drones, and were almost drowned after being mauled by a sarcho. We eventually found the giga and in an awesome battle we killed it and got the heart (which the pelt-wearing man kept). We soon realized that we made an amazing team so we decided to stay together. We then tamed a dodo and became The Dodo Cavalry. We went on many journeys with one another, slaying beasts and saving over-confident newbies from rexes. On one of our scores we attempted to rob a tribe that had large amounts of armor, eggs, weaponry, and other such valuables. The problem was it was guarded by the tribes multiple spinos. On our way to the tribe base we were attacked by a Thylacoleo that killed our beloved dodo. The rest of the group went on but I was determined to kill this Thyla. I tracked it down and fought it. One thing lead to another and now I found myself with a new, tamed level 97 Thylacoleo. I rode it to them and we used it in our heist. We successfully robbed the tribe. We then went to party at the tavern we met in (which was under new management at the time). We drank and danced all night. When morning struck we left the tavern in search of more adventures. That was around 3 years ago. Now I farm on the same lands that the tavern once stood with the same Thylacoleo I tamed all those years ago. I haven’t talked to any of them since our last quest where we faced the dragon. We laughed and cried together once but now I just farm alone, hoping deep down that we’ll reunite for one last adventure though I know it will never happen. My Thylacoleo (named Khan) protects the livestock (including my dodos which is funny given the circumstances we met under). Sometimes when I finish tending the farm I go out hoping to find another tavern and to see them all standing there waiting for my arrival but to no avail. The best days are the ones that are hard to look back upon.
Ark produces stories nothing else can, I've always wanted to try playing on multiplayer but sadly alot of servers have that "alpha" tribe that won't let anyone else get anything done. Wish I could have made some memories like this xD
Gareth, this is simply amazing! My absolutely favorite game is ARK, and I might add, that I completely know what you mean, when you said this game deserved a divine soundtrack - and my god you made just that! Huge respect for your visions and perfomance on this project!
Even coming up on 3 WHOLE years later. This sound track STILL holds up. Just from the very little we've heard from Genesis, it SOUNDS amazing but there will always be something so special about this first video of all the themes.
is a soundtrack supposed to suck after a year or something? one of the stupidest comments i’ve read. people love star wars music and it’s like 50 years old bro
@@peabrain6872 Ingoring the fact this comment is over 2 years old and yet you still felt the need to tell me how you feel, allow me to explain it to your ape brain. Gareth Coker (the person WHO made these songs) said that Journey's End (Which is gen2) is his best and fav for ARK. The comment was made before both gen1 and gen2. I've played ark since its release on xbox, but I still watched people play, ever since the game came out and I remember the two tone music themes, day, and night, the game has improved immensely, especially the graphics and the music, THANK YOU, for making this happen.
This is quality gold! It sure as hell deserves an Oscar! Well done!
I learned so much about dinosaurs and human nature playing this game. I know the names of many dinosaurs and the ways that cavemen used them (lol) and I know that without any system of law, people would just kill each other and take each other's shit on sight. Who says games don't teach you anything.
Me to
Yes, i love that aspect of the game! The explorer notes hide a really deep story…
I don’t think cavemen made saddles for t-rexes and I don’t know what servers you play on but it sounds like everyone there is a murderer
@@aliataya1089 Not really everyone but most of people who are above you or at least have more resources won't think twice to raid you.

Every piece is stunning and adds more to the grandiose of the game and it's creatures. Thank you for your work, it's inspiring.
WHO ARE THE FOOLS WHO DISLIKED THIS?
Coom Cood ark haters
Coom Cood people who thought it was coming out later that wildcard told us
Probably the idiots who just hate the game
Coom Cood people who hate ark probably
People who died
How wholesome!

Gareth Coker you are a musical genius never before have i heard music so powerful, majestic, and imposing.
By "still holding up" it means that it STILL is great compared to what we got later. Gareth Coker (the person WHO made these songs) said that Journey's End (Which is gen2) is his best and fav for ARK. The comment was made before both gen1 and gen2. But since you want to be a little brat, if you don't got anything nice to say, don't say it.
@@peabrain6872 And if you really wanna go on ARK music, I got you beat lmao. So keep your little comments about how others aren't as smart as you to yourself. We both know its just for you to feel better.

Ark really have the best music
1:13:24 That's when you remember all your suffer and time you waste just to complete all of this. That's when you remember when you started and you didn't understand anything and now you have killed the 4 bosses with your own dinosaurs and your tek stuff...
And that's when you remember you only complete The Island and you still having to complete another 5 and more difficult maps and you know that in 1 year you'll have Ark 2 to complete. It looks like never finishing
Even with that, Ark stills being one of the best survival games that gives you the pacient and determination to complete it
Thx you Ark

considering your name, pfp, and inability to use the correct too, your nostalgia is probably from when you first learned how to use a controller
also nostalgia is not a good thing for decision making
how i see it is that the first songs are you just starting then the middle songs are mid game bits like raiding bases getting raided exploring caves, going into the swamp and jungle and hatching your first egg and the last songs are you ending game and defeating the final boss and ascending stuff.
I think if Gareth and Hans did a collab, the universe would explode bigger than the big bang.
