Imo Aberration is the most atmospheric world in Ark, the soundtracks multiply it by tenfold. I remember once I was farming metal on the surface with my anky and crab, I was super excited knowing there were metal nodes that I thought were free from reaper kings, but I was wrong, to my surprise a reaper king emerged from the ground when I approached a metal node, god I was so scared, it felt like as in real life a tiger or lion suddenly appeared in front of you, imagine that. In the end the reaper king killed my character and luckily wild creatures lose interest to our tames when we're not around. Thank god my anky and crab were alive, I immediately went back to my base. To this day that is the once in a lifetime experience that I ever felt so scared in a game lol.
I love ARK's music, it sends shivers down my spine, it makes my breath catch in my throat. It paints a picture of the game we all see in ARK, something grand, something emotional, something breathtakingly beautiful. Its a perfect match, maybe almost too good, it adds so much to the game. Thank you for your work, its one of the best things about ARK.
Is anyone else going to notice that the beginning of the Titan themes were creepy as all hell? Gareth, you nearly gave me a heart attack, and that is not easy. Props to you, my good fellow.

I really like how most of the extinction music give me this sense of epicness and achievement after alll the cahllenges and difficulties we faced in the previous adventures and dlc

Ark is proof that you don't need a huge budget to have a phenomenal soundtrack. I absolutely love that so many of the main pieces to the game carry the same rhythm in so many different tones. The progression through the game and it's expansions is subtle but very clear from beginning to end with each expansion evoking more desperation and urgency than the last. I can't wait to see what comes next for both Ark and you
This game had an enormous budget. I'm sorry to say, first of an 93 piece orchestra and used abbey road studios to record, these guys honestly had more to work with than a AAA company.
Gareth, I know I’m late, but this is absolutely beautiful, a work of art. My favorite is definitely the Extinction Main Theme, it gives me chills whenever I hear it. So epic. I know you won’t see this, probably, but if you do, know that I love you and your music. You are a legend. ❤️

The surface theme is probably the creepiest ark songs there is it just sends shills down your spine, imagine your running around in the dark on your ravager and a reaper king pops up and then that song plays
11:52 Ever been in that purple zone in aberration? I’ve been lost there. It was hell. I run into a reaper or something super strong, realize I can’t fight it, try to run but only have narrow dangerous paths filled with scorpions to run down, miraculously survive, die to a seeker. I just wanted some rock drake eggs.... Also, when I grabbed a rock drake egg, I only expected a few to come after me. That was until I heard up to 20 screeching in unison while hurdling towards me at concerning speeds all grouped together. It was like I was a ship at sea and they were a tsunami.
Also why is it that on this album that the scorched earth music is actually 100 more epic than in the actual game. I would love for scorched earth to get this full music in it would make it 1000 times more epic playing scorched earth
Honestly, seeing that the Island and Genesis Part 2 have soundtracks albums spanning over one hour, and the rest of the DLCs(Scorched, Aberration and Extinction) have around 20 minutes of soundtracks each, the DLCs should get at least 10 more tracks each, for instance, have the Snow and Desert biomes on Extinction have different soundtracks, original or derived from the current OST for both

Aberration is the best out of all. The music, the color pallet, the gameplay, the unique elements that is so unfamiliar yet merge so coherently with the ark theme and ofc, rock drakes and climbing
Tell the orchestra they have composed one of the best pieces of music in gaming history. If they ask which song from the ost. Tell them all of them (my favourite is the overseer theme).
Interesting how the Extinction Ascension is mostly identical to the End Credits theme of The Island, and in the King Titan theme some of the choir patterns are similar to those in The Overseer theme. Repetition can be a good thing when done correctly, in this case it is done correctly
I think this is the game which has been able to bring the most emotions into my soul, I've gotten to share unforgettable memories with friends like in no other game. The thrill in raiding a base or the stress in defending one, the satisfaction after a tame, the adrenaline in entering the dragons rift and the impotence of a treason, in addition to an spectacular soundtrack and a fantastic lore of which I'm expecting to see more in ARK 2, is what makes this game my favorite game and I hope it will remain as it is with the sequel. im not sure if it's more common to have the consistency of a theme or completely difference soundtracks in general but i was always enamored with your ability to blend your original and distinct ARK theme into all of the different moods. I mean even the valentine's day song could be a meme but it's a damn jam IIRC. cool stuff. always a great OST. in Ark thanks for your work
Aberration is the best out of all. The music, the color pallet, the gameplay, the unique elements that is so unfamiliar yet merge so coherently with the ark theme and ofc, rock drakes and climbing

Interesting how the Extinction Ascension is mostly identical to the End Credits theme of The Island, and in the King Titan theme some of the choir patterns are similar to those in The Overseer theme. Repetition can be a good thing when done correctly, in this case it is done correctly

I think this is the game which has been able to bring the most emotions into my soul, I've gotten to share unforgettable memories with friends like in no other game. The thrill in raiding a base or the stress in defending one, the satisfaction after a tame, the adrenaline in entering the dragons rift and the impotence of a treason, in addition to an spectacular soundtrack and a fantastic lore of which I'm expecting to see more in ARK 2, is what makes this game my favorite game and I hope it will remain as it is with the sequel. Ark Aberration will always be my favourite. Abberation just had the coolest vibe with the music, sounds and art design.
