Perfect timing. I just put a sturgeon skin ( I got from you) on a hackberry bow I'm finishing up and want to do a thread wrap at the transition. Thanks for sharing your method Weylin.
How on earth did you know? Today I have an appointment with my son: We will try to repair a bow by glueing and threadwrapping it. Perfect timing - thanks a lot. (By the way: My yew stave and I are looking forward to your next video on hollow limb design)
Depends on what time of year you cut it, how big it is, what the conditions are where it's seasoning, etc. There isn't a magic number for seasoning. Under the right conditions it could be as quick as a couple months or it could take more than a year. Sorry for the wishy washy answer but it's the truth
Man you make sum really beautiful bows! Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy ur content!
Thank you!

Glad that worked out! I'm doing a video now on backing with sturgeon skin but that one might be a bit late for you. 😉
I'm sure I'll learn something new from your sturgeon backing video. Always do from your efforts. Thanks
Almost identical process to wrapping guides on a bamboo fly rod. Very cool.
Rod wrapping thread works great for this. It is usually uv resistant and has a nice finish once soaked with superglue.
The transition looks super smooth, love the look. Any idea when we’ll get a part 2 of the hollow bow tutorial?
Thank you! The second HLD video is up now. sorry for the wait
Excellent!

Nice glasses!
Haha, need my reading glasses. I'm getting old!
Does this wrapping make higher bow tension strengh?
How long does it take for a hackberry bow stave to dry. To start working on it.

Finish the hollow limb bow!!
I'm working on it. Had a set back with the original stave and needed to start again.
