We're super surprised to find that our animated videos are suddenly trending out of nowhere, so thank you all for checking our little channel out! You may be surprised to find that our channel is actually mostly comprised of other types of videos, mainly talking head/podcasts, NOT animated videos like these. This is because we did these animated videos as a one-off project in 2021 with money from a government grant. Animated videos are not cheap so as a small team of 4-6 people, we don't have a lot of resources to spend most of our time making cartoons. Our main business is making comics and articles about personal finance, and all these animated stories came from comic strips that we had previously made. If you are interested, you can look for us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or X or check out our website at thewokesalaryman.com. We also have a substack here: thewokesalaryman.substack.com/ We love these cartoons we've made though, and the sudden resurgence has made us think about doing more of these so thank you. In the meantime, we've created a playlist of all our animated videos so you can find them all here: ruclips.net/p/PLWGMmfUOlc0qs3OnYsFfGlAun7nWGNSUF Thank you all. and hope you have a good financial year ahead! Stay woke, salaryman :)
I think this line really hits me. "Spending lesser but more precious time together helped him see that filial piety isn't about giving money or the sheer QUANTITY of time spent together, but really about the QUALITY moments we now have."
This video have really good messages. I really like this video and want to show it to my parents but sadly they don't understand English. Can we have Chinese subtitle please?
The subtitles now can be translated by Google automatically into Traditional Chinese. I hope this will help your parents to see and understand the video. EDIT: Grammar.
Honestly, my only hurdle to moving out is that I can’t have a job and go to university, it will be very damaging for my mental health to do both. So while my living situation with my dad is not also good for my state of mind, I know for a fact that I will crumble if I try to get a part time job and also do uni because I uni is a full time, high demand job already and I am at my limit. To the people who are in a position where a second job won’t push you past your ability to function, and live in uncomfortable or toxic household environment, I encourage you to move out. It is a choice I cannot engage in at the moment, but wish I could do so.
@@VoxaPopsa it depends on who you have as a family. are you better off with some complete strangers living with you than your family you grew up with? My dad lived with his mom and brother untill he was 40 and I will probably do the same regardless of my finances. having your own apartment is just a fashion statement
@@wompstopm123 Entirely missed the point of the video. If it works for you then that's great. Some people get trapped in a bad mental state because of their living situation. It can be much better to move out and sacrifice in the short term for long term benefits that may not be apparent immediately. Living with parents till 40 though... I would maybe rewatch the video and consider benefits that are not purely financial.
Minimum wage in my state is around 1600 a month, and on people in their 20's earn closer to 2000 a month. We have higher costs, but are paid more. And the quality of living is better in general.
Well, for me , my family is understanding mostly. No opression. I am always so thankfull to be formed into myself. I ll be a family man too one day. I belive. Interesting.
Impossible to move out in NJ without 2 full time incomes. Cheap piece of shit apt near me is around 2000$ a month. Gonna stay home until i’m in my late 20s and get a pos house and pay the mortgage instead. Dumpiest house possible near where I live is around 300-350k. That’ll get you a small falling apart home
Have you thought about getting roommates? That would be more cost efficient, in terms of not having to abide by your parents' rules and expectations until you're able to afford a place of your own.
I feel on the contrary. I mean the concept sounds good, getting freedom, becoming self reliant and what not, but for a society this is a big hindrance. As you move out, live along then start a family, your children's too move out. Somewhere down the line, it leads to loneliness Further down the line, you start remaining single, and adopt pets to fill that gap. And then your population ratio starts to decline. Then you import people from outside to care care of yourself, then they take over your nation and culture. IS that desirable? Just because you don't want to deal with the naggings of old parents, you adopt the escapist strategy. Not good man.

These animations with messages behind them are so good! I’m surprised it doesn’t have more views; there’s a lot of wisdom in your content

I watched this video while sitting in the couch next to my mom, she didn’t understand English.

Hm, I suppose moving out in your 20s is early in some countries, but where I'm from (Norway) the median age for moving out is 19 years.

That was the whole point of the video. But if you are willing, get a nicer place with roommates instead to lower costs

I would have moved too if I had 700 dollars and a job in my 20's lmao.
Well said 💖

I think you are still obligated to provide allowance even if you move out. You dont get a free pass.
oh not with an abusive parent bro, i’d have that old man sued broke and hung with his pants down. my mum is fine, i’m letting her live with me.
