Many Garden trains are just that: A train running through the garden. I tried to build a model train outdoors. You are helping me to believe I succeeded.
@@robertweldon7909 There is not one plant on that layout that is artificial. They all need constant attention and trimming. Some of the (small) trees are 16 years old and would be 15 feet tall if I had let them be. And thanks again for a valid comment.
Wow, you really have to be obsessed with a hobby to spend this much time and money, not to mention land, to create and maintain it. I'm impressed! You have not time for any other interests, I'm sure. Thank you for the nice ride!
Absolutely amazing ... it took a few minutes for me to realise that it was a hobby train track! So real and so beautiful indeed ... shows your love for trains and the amount of effort, time & money you put on it is astounding! When my son was small, we used to build plastic tracks inside our home in Singapore with quite a few track complications and running multiple trains on them without colliding. I still have those tracks, engines & coaches. For this itself, I would have spent around S$1,000++ ... I can imagine how much you would have spent! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful hobby ... keep going and we are here to watch and encourage 👌🏽👍🏼👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for watching and the encouragement you give me. It helps me to carry-on. It is hard to imagine the amount of work needed to keep it all looking trim and proper. I do all the work myself, even building much of my rolling stock from scratch. Cost is therefore not really a big factor compared to the attention of detail that goes into it.
Absolutely amazing! Can`t imagine the amount of time, let alone the money it took to build this. You should be very proud of what you`ve done here, it is truly stunning!
I do try to do a credible job and it does take a fair part of my time to keep it all presentable. It is amazing how little money it takes when you do it all yourself. Thanks for watching and commenting.

What a stunning layout. I don't think I have seen a better layout in my life. Trouble is now, my 5 year boy watched this with me. He wants a layout like this. Got acres of open land/garden. No time to do it. You should be proud of this layout. Well done
I feel with your 5 year old. I was that age when the bug caught me and it never let go. Try to find the time to build him (even a small) layout. This is absolutely wonderful. I have watched twice due all the little cameos. I am sure if I watch again I will discover something new. The lad on the skateboard had me laughing and I'm sure I spotted a bear. All the best from the UK

I just saw your Shovelnose work and some of your brass models -- you are an amazing artisan and (from the nice folks at gscalecentral) a kind soul! I have ridden the White Pass twice now (I live in Seattle) and I'm just starting my own little RhB / White Pass fusion layout this year (been in development for a couple years now). Thank you for posting videos; they are a delight!
I actually think of myself as a craftsman, rather than an artisan. But I accept the compliment, it is nice of you to say so. How are the folks of gscalecentral come into this? I see you are, just like me, going to straddle the Alaska / Switzerland gap. Some wilderness, but not too much, after all Switzerland is rather groomed. Good luck with your plans. Besides the Shovelnoses I have built a number of different locos and cars, may be I should consider parading then in another video...
@@Landsend-Railroad Indeed, craftsman is a good word! I found your work through a post on gscalecentral. tac, PaulRhb, and Gavin (NZ) all have met you and had kind words to say :D Thanks for the encouragement!
That was an awesome train ride. It reminded me of riding a commuter train that I could stand at the front car and look right down on the track just like you recorded it. Yours is way prettier then that commuter train view. I really enjoyed the imaginary ride. Thank you.
I know exactly what you mean. When I was young I too went to work on a streetcar and did look over the drivers shoulder. Now that I have build this little empire of my own, I can reenact that scenario. Thank you for commenting.
I try hard to keep the track well aligned. It reduces the frustration with derailments. Frost heaving in the winter and heat expansion on those hot summer days is a nuisence to content with. I am glad you enjoyed the ride.
Having watched through this superb video of an incredibly well designed and maintained layout, I was amused with how I was "shocked" by the lack of lighting on the lamps that the station controllers are using -- can't win can you!
Thanks for calling it amazing, but while there is much work involved, the money aspect is less then you think. Much of what you see, I build myself, that includes locomotives and cars.
Gold was found in the Yukon at Dawson City (the Klondike gold rush), but that was in 1897. The WP&Y Railroad was build to make it accessible, but it was too late. When the railroad was finished the gold rush was over. Gold mining still goes on but it is hardly profitable.
When it first pulled away, I thought everything on the left side was life sized 🙄 Took me a minute to realize it actually wasn't. Wow! Fantastic job you've done. It's just beautiful.
It is a common shortfall with model trains to keep up the illusion that its is all for real. There will always be some give-away, but still, one must keep trying. Thank you, and I am glad you enjoyed it.
We need a "scavenger hunt/I spy" checklist to go along with this. I tripped out the whole ride but seeing bears on the cliffside made me smile. Amazing job! You are very gifted.

If you have a 360° camera, I wonder what this would look like in VR. Anyone who wants to see the train could not complain about that! Also maybe they should not let the skateboarder with a broken arm and sprained knee out of the house - obviously doesn't have a great track record.

I can’t get over how nice this set up is. It is astounding and I think probably second to none in its quality. I’d run out of superlatives for it.
The details blows my mind. Excellent job man. Thank you very much. Excellent.
I have tried and will keep trying. Without the details it wouldn't be half the fun. Thank you for the accolades.
Who cares where this is, it is the best garden model rail road I've seen. It just goes on and on. It seems to be an inside model, until you notice, OH there is a "human house" there. Superb. ;-)
Many Garden trains are just that: A train running through the garden. I tried to build a model train outdoors. You are helping me to believe I succeeded.
Something that I overlooked, at first, is the garden itself. The plantings seem to be to scale. Are they artificial or real? Way cool.
@@robertweldon7909 There is not one plant on that layout that is artificial. They all need constant attention and trimming. Some of the (small) trees are 16 years old and would be 15 feet tall if I had let them be. And thanks again for a valid comment.
I thought that is the way it is, so then you are into Bonsai too. Cool. I'll shut up now ;-)
@@robertweldon7909 Bonsai is a little more serious, but I am certainly leaning in that direction.
Wow, you really have to be obsessed with a hobby to spend this much time and money, not to mention land, to create and maintain it. I'm impressed! You have not time for any other interests, I'm sure. Thank you for the nice ride!
Well said!
This is the best train garden youtube channel I've seen to date, and I've watched FAR TOO MANY of them lol. From the landscaping to the elevation changes to the sloping grades to the detailed modeling to the gardening work, and on and on and on.
This is definitely a step above, well done!
It is the best reward I can get for the work I do, comments like yours. Thank you very much.
Einfach nur Wahnsinn 👍👍👍👍👍👌eine super Anlage und ein sehr sehr schöner Garten.
Well impressed to see the result of what must have been a lot of hard work
.
Amen. Yes it was, but it is fun too, especially when the hard work is done. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely AMAZING. Love this. Wish I had a backyard like this!!!! detail is just WOW!!!
Thank you . I can tell you do like it, and I keep wishing for you to have a yard like that some day.
@@Landsend-Railroad cant stop watching.. i notice something new everytime ITS just Lovely!!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!!
Oh my gosh! There are no words! Incredible!
Fantastic! Best I have ever seen. What an enormous amount of work must go into this to keep it so perfect.
Thank you. And it does take a bit of attention, I admit.
Wow, extremely well done. Even the wind is blowing in the trees.
The wind in the trees is a fringe benefit towards reality when doing model railroading out-doors. Thanks for the nice comment.
Absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully designed and built.
Thank you for watching, Glad you did.
A beautiful ride through the country side! The details are incredible!! Nothing else like this armchair journey through one man's insight of a grand fantastic display.
William, you said that very well and I thank you for sending me this message. It makes me feel appreciated.
No matter how many times I watch this video every time a new route or new landscape or new small people keep on fascinating. I hope you won’t charge for more and more rides 😊😊😊
I gives me a good feeling to hear that people like you are getting some joy out of my videos. And don't worry, I will never charge a cent for having anyone watch what I do, Garden Railroading. It is more than just a hobby to me. Thanks for taking the trouble to send me a note.

You never know how much of his future you are influencing. And I don't just mean trains, but a love for mechanical things. After all I became a professional engineer...
This is absolutely wonderful. I have watched twice due all the little cameos. I am sure if I watch again I will discover something new. The lad on the skateboard had me laughing and I'm sure I spotted a bear. All the best from the UK
Thanks for watching and for your positive comment. Cheers from Canada
Most fascinating part is the track leads us giving scenic views and running glimpses of little world in which small people live just like we do on real scale!
Love your comment. Many viewers have expressed the wish to be one of the little people, I do, don't you?
@Othmar Brunner I thank you for these appreciative words. I do try to get it right. It is not perfect, but when one works at it, the results can become more convincing.
Excellent, a great deal of time and hard work went into that layout.
Of course you are quite right, and much effort still goes into maintaining it all. Thanks for your sympathy.
This is beyond amazing. This looks like years of dedication and passion condensed into something that is like an art form.
You are close with the dedication and passion. I am not so sure about it being an art form, but then again many things are called art these days. Thanks for your appreciation.
@@Landsend-Railroad no no no... it REALLY IS an art. it gives us who enjoyed trains (or so called railfans), engineering, and or ppl who loves miniatures a good feel, like satisfaction. and thats how i feel.
@@luthfieyudhairawan3883 Ok, Ok,. I take your word for it. Thank you.
OMG well done!!! What an amazing awesome layout and all the work that you do to keep up with everything!!!! My hats off to you .
You put your finger on something that is not always fun, the cleaning-up alter mother nature. But most of the time I enjoy myself. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The model railroad that runs outdoors is very attractive. I totally liked it.
I also enjoy N gauge model railroads in Japan.
Thank you for the wonderful video!
I have completely changed to outdoor trains. I used to build many indoor layouts in the smaller scales before, HO, N and Z. It is a different world outside with a new set of challenges.
Thank you for your appreciative comment.
Wow, nice video, you have a beautiful garden, i like that and thank you for the nice tour ever, good job👍
You are most welcome and I appreciate your response. Thank you.
Stunning. The best garden railway I’ve seen so far. Great work.
I am working on it. Judging by your comment I am beginning to make progress. Thank you for your encouraging response.
Outstanding. I think this is the best backyard layout I've seen.
Thank you. Looks like I am on the right track...
Incredible display. This man has a great imagination and love of model trains.
Yes, my love for trains I don't deny. An great imagination - I don't know- may be I just set my goals a little higher and don't give up before I am happy with the result. Thanks for the encouragement.
Fanstastico. Well done. I cannot imagine how much work you need to mantain this railway but it is really wonderful. Bravo. Ciao
Good to hear that you appreciate what I do. And yes, it is a fair amount of work, especially the pruning, weeding and to take all decorations inside for the winter.
Unbelievable!!!! Absolutely beautiful. I can't even imagine the amount of time spent on this. Very well done. Thank you for sharing!
I can't help you there. I long lost count of the hours that went into this. Thank you for appreciating my efforts.
I like so much the trains but this is so amazing. This seems so real that is hard to think they are only scale models. Greetings from Chile.
I am happy you liked it. Thank you for your kind words. Greetings from the other end of the Americas, Canada. I have visited Buenos Aires and Terra del Fuego, Ushuaia and have fond memories.
Excellent. South extreme of Chile is so wild and beatiful. Welcome to our land. And greetings for Rush, one of my favorites group 😁😁😁😁. A hug for you.
@@enriqueortegasepulveda4865 Sorry, I should have said I came from Buenos Aires and went by cruise ship to Antarctica then through Terra del Fuego and up the Pacific coast. Visiting Puntarenas, Chacabuco, Puerto Aysen, Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, Petrohue, Valparaiso and Santiago. It is a beautiful country you live in.
here in Winnipeg, I am still waiting for the snow to clear, but I do have big plans for my own garden railway, an extra siding, and a new branch line off the main loop. I am hoping to put my first cab ride video on YT later this summer. Videos like this are so inspirational, I can only say thanks to all who post them.
I am happy to hear my videos inspire you. I wish you luck and a good deal of fun when you extend your RR after the snow is gone. When that new effort can be seen in a video, I would be very interested to have a look at it . Please send ne a note when you post it.
In the next life, I want to be an ant living in that garden. Beautiful railroad, this is a masterpiece, Sir! ❤️
The ants on my layout keep running on top of the rails. If you manage to live as an ant here, please don't do that. Thanks for the kind comment.
@@Landsend-Railroad Sure thing! I just want to take a ride 😁
Fantastic layout, very well done. The track work is very smooth, something even the real railroads have a hard time doing. What a ride
I try hard to keep the track well aligned. It reduces the frustration with derailments. Frost heaving in the winter and heat expansion on those hot summer days is a nuisence to content with.
I am glad you enjoyed the ride.
Wow, really, really good and beautiful work... Amazing garden. Congrats 👍👍👍😃
Thank you for a nice reply. Stay tuned, there will be more this summer.
Having watched through this superb video of an incredibly well designed and maintained layout, I was amused with how I was "shocked" by the lack of lighting on the lamps that the station controllers are using -- can't win can you!
Wow, this Railroad ist amazing! It's defenetly a must see! There is so much work and money in this area! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for calling it amazing, but while there is much work involved, the money aspect is less then you think. Much of what you see, I build myself, that includes locomotives and cars.
Where is it.. I mean the county.. ❓
@@masbrobarbar.8999 It is in Canada
@@Landsend-Railroad is it nearby yukon a gold mine area.. ❓
@@Landsend-Railroad apologies if I said that wrong. It was definitely a compliment, not a complaint. It had me fooled... so the illusion worked 😊
Thanks for the tour! A great ride it was!!
Glad you liked it. Thank you.
We need a "scavenger hunt/I spy" checklist to go along with this. I tripped out the whole ride but seeing bears on the cliffside made me smile. Amazing job! You are very gifted.
Now there is an idea, a scavenger hunt. Bears are native in Canada, they do belong. And I don't know about gifted, hard working, may be better description. Thanks for your input.
It’s hypnotic, I was transported and absorbed by this world, it became real ....
That's what a great hobby does to you. Works for me. Thanks for sharing your observation.
Until I saw the gazebo with chairs for 200 ft tall man, lol. Just kidding. Awesome train ride!
@@BrisLS1 Good guess. A scaled up 6 foot man would actually be only 135 feet tall. I spent a lot of time to make things as believable as possible. Thanks for noticing.
Very very cool. It’s the first “cab ride” video where I actually thought I was on the train. Awesome garden railroad. Details are spectacular. Great job
Thank you for telling me that I am getting close to create that illusion. I will keep working on the details.
Sir you own a very beautiful property I am just in awe of the nature in back ground I literally used this video to fall asleep. 😍🤗
Several viewers have commented like that. It is very relaxing. So is the entire hobby of garden railroading. Thank you for responding.
Spending time following the suggestions, glad that I came and spent the time enjoying your layout.
There were times you could easily forget you were watching a model. Beautifully done. Thanks.

Very very good, wonderful Track.
Thank you for watching.
What a wonderful railway - a labour of love! I felt like I was on a real train!
I try hard to make it look real. You make it sound like I am getting better at it. Thank you.
Sir I sincerely appreciate your patience in creating such wonderful masterpiece. Well done Sir 👍👍👍👍👍
I really appreciate your pat on the back. Thank you.
It's the best level of detail I ever saw. A pity for the house, the bench and the carousel.. the scale is totally of the chart... apart from that... just amazing
We agree! However, there is a limit in how far you can take things. Thanks for your interest.
well - that was fantastic to watch - congratulations on an amazing track.
It is nice of you to say so. Thank you.
Thank you for watching and for the compliment.
Intense and magnificent. I would get yelled at for never coming back inside the house.
I never get yelled at, but there have been times I got stuck out there when I was into a particularly involved construction phase.
That was deliciously refreshing 👍
The recording of these scenes was not refreshing at all. The outside temperature was 31 degrees Celsius on that day (that is a little short of 90 F). Thanks for watching and commenting.
Fascinating and awesome! A labor of love and it shows! Thank you for sharing.
You be the judge. A labor of love - I suppose. Thanks for watching.
Very very good....so natural....good detail...
I thank you.
Im impress the way the train and all the garden design by the engineers and the architect.
Wunderschöne Anlage! Super gemacht!
Recht schoenen Dank fuer das Lob.
Spectacular. I love the over-head tram and all the detail is perfect.
The over-head cable tram was one of the last projects to be added. Thanks for the kind words.
I love seeing the other trains and the trolley moving around! The brake release noise is really cool, and I love hearing the horn! I still wish there was a bit more soundscaping though. If you have a 360° camera, I wonder what this would look like in VR. Anyone who wants to see the train could not complain about that! Also maybe they should not let the skateboarder with a broken arm and sprained knee out of the house - obviously doesn't have a great track record.
This is the best garden model railroad in the world 🌎
I haven’t seen one that is better than this one ! 😊💕💕
I love to hear that, but I can not take all the credit. I know there are some others, very nice ones too.
