Hey Gears and Gasoline, Thank You For Giving Us Such a Spectacular Series. I love your road trip series and I can't wait for the next One. My favorite part of this episode was when Tall Ben finally sat and drove the Tesla, He must have felt so relaxed. Thank You Guys for creating extraordinary content. :)

After seeing what happened to TV when Covid hit people really need to appreciate creators like Gears and Gasoline. Their productions value hits way above their weight class.

It’s amazing how far EVs have come in just 8 years, that P85 feels absolutely archaic compared to a new LR Raven. The difference in just range and 0-60 times are shocking: 265 vs 412 miles, 0-60 in 4.2 vs 3.1s. The annoyance of having to charge so often probably wouldn’t be as bad on a 2021 Model S as on that P85 as 412 miles of range is like 6 hours of driving: the limit for most people before having to stop for at least a pee break.
This is what I was thinking the whole time. I got a Model S Long Range Plus a few months ago. 402 miles EPA, which should be possible if I don’t exceed 60 MPH on the highway. At normal highway speeds (here in Texas, 70-75 MPH speed limit) it’s more like 340 miles, which is still fantastic. I definitely feel a need to stop more often than the car does, but the other side of that coin is that there are not charging stations everywhere. It requires some planning ahead, especially if I am not sticking to the interstates. Pluses: Unlimited free Supercharging. Camping with RV hookup and bed in back. Advanced Autopilot. Very nice turn-by-turn nav. Very comfy seats. I want to put on stickier tires. Range will suffer a little, but I can live with that.
i drove 14 hours straight 2 years ago twice within a week. 1350km per trip. that's... i dunno, 900 miles probably. two fuel stops per trip but i never left my car and each stop took about 3 minutes. i was fine on the way there, but on the way back i got seriously sick about 3 hours from home. i mean, it started with very slight symptoms, but they got worse with every minute. when i got to my city i was dizzy, nauseous and my sight was fading to black. i arrived home and the first thing i did was puke (i made it to the toilet just in time). my passenger had been hella sick two days before and obviously he was still a virus hazard. should have postponed the trip for a couple more days. I thought "here we go, now I'M going to be bed-ridden for four days. fuck"!. thankfully i made a full recovery overnight.
Thumbs up for Ben Lin for choosing an Evo race car for the long road trip, it is really no joke riding in a car like that for days, another great episode G&G!

Why diesel? Those are easily as good as petrol cars. Half of Europe owns diesels and drives them without problem. It's not even a challenge. 2 stroke car would be more challenging than diesel one.
As a Tesla owner, I really appreciate how much effort Gears and Gasoline put into stating that the Model S they used is a rebuilt salvage vehicle, a 2012 model so 8 years old, and it's only a rear wheel drive smaller battery model. They made it clear so many times that newer cars don't have the same cooling issues (It can still happen but takes A LOT more to cause it than one launch), and newer models have far more range, up to 400 miles with a Model S 100D. Good job guys, you provided a good quality series about a Tesla vs a super impractical gas car, with amazing production quality, and true facts. A serious rarity lately. :)
That was fun! They used to brand cars GT - Grand Tour. Not that watching a race car go up against an EV was anything but fun entertainment but you have my permission to drive a more equally matched set of cars next road trip. One should not have to risk health for what they love.
It's funny knowing all the roads to and from the coast and southern Oregon, because these guys are teleporting around with their scenic shots, they say they are on the highway to Portland but it cuts to a clip of them driving east away from it. Love it
I don't think I've ever seen a person happier to get into a car than Ben when he sat in the Tesla after winning the race. The whole season, like the others, has been outstanding. Top tier content.
Definitely the channel with the best production quality and editing on RUclips. I feel like im watching a movie, thank you all for putting in this hard work and still making the videos free. Broke car guys like me really appreciate it lol
Huge car guy here and actually switched from an 800whp 2014 GT500 to a 2017 MS P100D and have never looked back since. Yes, I miss the sound but the Telsa is faster and better in every way.
Every time I watch these road trip series that you guys do, it makes me wish I was living in US. You guys have a beautiful country, and it's huge that there will always be some new interesting places to see each time you guys go on a road trip. Anyway, as always, very amazing production quality. Already looking forward to the next trip.
Gears and Gasoline's Roatrip is one of the best. Whenever im watching your videos it made me feel that im a part of this trip. Showing different views of states and showcasing different cars with great video quality and amazing editing. Thank you for creating this. You should do more travelling and more cars to cover.
please do more of these road trip guys, you two are awesome, the camera dude is awesome, the quality of the videos and shots are awesome, EVERYTHING is awesome. love this channel. These road trips are so fun and satisfying to watch
A great series. Next time around you should do it with beater cars. Like 500-1000 dollar. Drive along northern usa then go all the way up dalton highway in alaska😂
I can only imagine the view they've seen going past every state... This must be so breathtaking! I hope to do this when the right time comes. Great Video Gears and Gasoline! And oh Ben is the man for handling the heat from both the car and the weather heading back home... 100 degrees???? I would not even probably survive that long out there...
That was an amazing series! Loved every second of it. I have been wanting a Tesla since they started coming out but, they're a little out of my reach still. I thought that was Dolores at first but, assumed it wasn't and I was so pumped to see Rich on here. Love that dude. Keep up the great vids, guys!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I watched all 3 episodes from the first to last second. I have done the same road trips from the east coast to the west coast several times and I completely agree. It is very interesting, a lot of great views, a log of interesting things to see. Every road trip I used different cars and in my opinion, the best vehicle for such a trip is a minivan. It's large, roomy, comfortable, and also has good gas mileage comparing to big SUV/trucks.
ive gone on a few thousand mile road trips, but now that im in the military i cant do it like i used to. so thank you for this content, it brings me back to my youth.
Not sure how u r not 10m+ followers, this series and videos need more recognition! Music, camera angle, and color grading are all on point. Great job and 37 mins never felt faster! 👏🏼

This was probably filmed way before that, in fact I almost wouldn't be surprised if all the free supercharging they were doing in these videos put up a red flag on Tesla's end and they disabled it because of that 😂
I love these episodes (love the channel) and I'm greatful that we can watch these for free. The first series is still my favorite due to its simplicity. Still, loved this one. Comparing two 'extremes' in the car scene. Well done.
the series' premise is simple, but you guys made this into such an awesome, fun, and beautiful series to watch, can't wait for another one, let's admit it we always hungry for more quality content from u guys
Looking forward to the next roadtrip series. These have made me wanting weekends so bad. Thanks! As always, top notch editing. Drone shots are immaculate. Camera work is awesome. This feels like those Top Gear special series.
REALNEIGHBORNOTGAY just a reminder that all of Tesla’s specs are lies and all their lap times are cheated with illegal racing tires and that’s the reason why none of their times are listed on any of the tracks official websites and even with the “plaid” model s with modified aero and illegal tires got a time of 7:20 around the Nurburgring that’s still closer to sub 300hp FWD hatches like the Renault Megane than it it to any actual super cars. Also a reminder that more than likely the Plaid powertrain is probably the same powertrain the Roadster is going to have, and the Roadster is going to weigh more, along with the fact that most people won’t have semi slick tires on it so it’s going to be even slower.
Bladez Andrew It’s not listed because it’s not in production yet. And as far as I know, Michelin Pilot Sport CUP 2 Rs are street legal. The GT2 RS used them and their laptime was posted. And ofc it’s not going to be as fast as the fastest super/hypercars out there because it’s a 5,000 lb luxury car. Even then, that laptime is still impressive and it’s within spitting distance of a 488 GTB, a 991.1 Porsche GT3, a Jaguar XE Project 8, etc etc. Also, Tesla’s specs are not only legit, but they’re consistently underrated. Motor Trend and Car and Driver consistently get better results than what Tesla claims.
@@M67v dafuq are you even talking about. I'm not talking about just the semi slicks or the pilot cup 2 R's im talking about the full on racing slicks... There's a difference between coming to a track where you're car looks like this www.thedrive.com/news/29882/modified-tesla-model-s-prototype-unofficially-laps-nurburgring-faster-than-porsche-taycan-report to then failing so you come back like this www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-plaid-widebody-rear-diffuser-side-vents/ to then failing again so you finally come back like www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-nurburgring-update-crash-supercharger-spoiler/ then when you realize that the nurburgring is not you're thing your like sure let me just use full on racing slicks *scroll down www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-3-fastest-lap-record-laguna-seca-video/ Even if they used only semi slicks for the nurburgring record it doesn't matter if all the other modifications are more than likely illegal for production cars to have. There's a reason you dont see many super cars with super aggressive splitters and wings.... Cause of like "pedestrian" safety if you accidentally hit them you dont want to literally split them in half. Also the reason why pop up headlights became illegal. No way did Tesla care about that since they literally came back after like only a week after the one attempt or whatever. I highly doubt any of the production models will come with a diffuser either. They only care about appearing better than the competition when they're not.... at anything as far as motortrend and car and driver always getting better results.... again lmao what? www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a30874032/porsche-taycan-range-test-tesla-model-s/#:~:text=The%20results%20were%20far%20closer,222%20for%20the%20Model%20S.&text=The%20last%20Model%20S%20we,EPA%20figure%20at%20the%20time. and bruh i really dont wanna link more just look into the fact that all their 0-60 times they never specified tires or 1 foot rollouts as well. Idk and honestly i really dont care at this point i've typed half this shit so many times. You actually can't believe 10,000NM of torque is even a remotely plausible claim, like i just can't right now. Every spec is so overrated to the point where it's honestly laughable how straight up fraud it is. Like even after they confirm the roadster won't do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds and that it's only the space-x version with the thrusters and a 1 foot rollout that will be able to do it people still blindly follow... Like why? Why do you care? If the Owl Aspark does 0-60 in 1.6 seconds LEGIT who tf even cares about tesla cheating to reach 1.9? If you ever do get a Tesla or you already have one... Have fun changing the entire driveline every 20k miles.... Like if an ICE needed a brand new engine AND transmission every 20k miles...
Damm, that was exciting & amazing.. the whole series.. Even that EV was awesome & super comfy I would still endure all those pains & aches for that EVO.. That EVO is a great car.
Why would someone put themselves through that kind of hellish discomfort in the EVO? Guess it goes to show that race cars are for the track only. They are in no way a viable daily driver.
Its all about what you are willing to sacrifice for power. The evo used to be a daily driver, but all the creature comforts were removed because racecar.
@@surfdude7575 i agree. I had a toyota celica without a muffler and the highway drone noise on it was way too much for me. So before i left on long trips, i would put it on, but when i was zooming around town, i would take it off again

Huge car guy here and actually switched from an 800whp 2014 GT500 to a 2017 MS P100D and have never looked back since. Yes, I miss the sound but the Telsa is faster and better in every way.
I fell in love with your country after watching your road trips!
Every time I watch these road trip series that you guys do, it makes me wish I was living in US. You guys have a beautiful country, and it's huge that there will always be some new interesting places to see each time you guys go on a road trip.
Anyway, as always, very amazing production quality. Already looking forward to the next trip.
E as in ... Eclair... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have seen many cross country rides in Tesla as well as other cars. Cross country across the US is such an amazing thing to do.
"Remember when I took a Miata on a road trip? Uncomfortable. Not this time!"
lololol
My favorite RUclips series of all time!
It combines my interests of cars, scenery, traveling, and more!
Today’s word of the day: “POWER CUT!”
you must be real good at maths
you can just see the amount of work each episode takes to make, so high quality its almost unbelievable.
Watching from Philippines
Stay safe guys godbless
Fellow Oregonian here and these boys are right-driving out to the coast is whole vibeeee!
Love Evoooooooooooooo....really keen on the trip ....time will come that oil will be out soo I can't dismiss the Tesla😀
6:20 - 8:08 is one of my favorite sequences in a RUclips video of all time, so good!
Man, would love to meet you guys. These road trips are awesome.
Gears and Gasoline's Roatrip is one of the best. Whenever im watching your videos it made me feel that im a part of this trip. Showing different views of states and showcasing different cars with great video quality and amazing editing. Thank you for creating this.
You should do more travelling and more cars to cover.
Video, editing and presentation is awesome!
please do more of these road trip guys, you two are awesome, the camera dude is awesome, the quality of the videos and shots are awesome, EVERYTHING is awesome. love this channel. These road trips are so fun and satisfying to watch
33:10 When your crush says she doesn't like you
This roadtrip felt like a movie with all that great editing and high quality equipment
This is how im starting my day ☺
had lunch to go, in my room, on a Saturday, watching this. cant be anymore perfect than this!
love it man!
You had him?? You never had him. "You never had your car!"
A great series. Next time around you should do it with beater cars. Like 500-1000 dollar. Drive along northern usa then go all the way up dalton highway in alaska😂
Y'all should do your next road trip across europe!
Dude that music segment that is around 7:40 had me literally saying WTF, how is this so good?
Missed the opportunity to say e as in evo 😂😂
I can only imagine the view they've seen going past every state... This must be so breathtaking! I hope to do this when the right time comes. Great Video Gears and Gasoline! And oh Ben is the man for handling the heat from both the car and the weather heading back home... 100 degrees???? I would not even probably survive that long out there...
Lin: How close are we to home 😭😤
It's just around the corner 🤏we are this close to home (on the world map)
That was an amazing series! Loved every second of it. I have been wanting a Tesla since they started coming out but, they're a little out of my reach still. I thought that was Dolores at first but, assumed it wasn't and I was so pumped to see Rich on here. Love that dude. Keep up the great vids, guys!
Evo owner seems like a great dude
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I watched all 3 episodes from the first to last second. I have done the same road trips from the east coast to the west coast several times and I completely agree. It is very interesting, a lot of great views, a log of interesting things to see. Every road trip I used different cars and in my opinion, the best vehicle for such a trip is a minivan. It's large, roomy, comfortable, and also has good gas mileage comparing to big SUV/trucks.
"28:00 I had him"....let me be the one to tell you..NO YOU DIDN'T!
ive gone on a few thousand mile road trips, but now that im in the military i cant do it like i used to. so thank you for this content, it brings me back to my youth.
What state is your favorite to drive through?
The McDonald's drive throughs here on the east coast are pretty good
Not sure how u r not 10m+ followers, this series and videos need more recognition! Music, camera angle, and color grading are all on point. Great job and 37 mins never felt faster! 👏🏼
Why is this other guy such a sore loser? Just take the loss and drive the evo dude jeez.
I got gay friends more manlier to face a defeat than that crybaby. Freaking annoying.
@@jayveerobes8904 not sure how much your "friends" would appreciate you making a comparison at their expense. being gay does not mean you're predisposed to a certain mannerism or sportsmanship
But shii “drive the evo”? Much easier said than done
@@stephensfriends Wow. Did I degrade someone? I'm pretty sure none. That's just a straight-to-the-point declarative sentence Mr./Mrs. "saucy". But, whatever.
Was about to respond "ok karen" but that might hurt your ass too. 😂
Jayvee Robes I’m sorry it took so long for someone to challenge your backwards social schemas. You’re too far gone
I'm not even a car person but i still watch all three episodes in one go. Really entertaining, definitely subscribing.
do you guys know how rich's tesla is supercharging? because i remembered he told us his tesla cannot supercharge anymore
Wondering the same thing.
This was filmed before that?
Who said?
You are right he did say it can’t supercharge anymore.
This was probably filmed way before that, in fact I almost wouldn't be surprised if all the free supercharging they were doing in these videos put up a red flag on Tesla's end and they disabled it because of that 😂
this channel needs more views amazing job amazing film
Waffle, with or without syrup
What this can be described
I love these episodes (love the channel) and I'm greatful that we can watch these for free. The first series is still my favorite due to its simplicity.
Still, loved this one. Comparing two 'extremes' in the car scene. Well done.
Future road trip: Tesla Cybertruck vs. Ford F150
the series' premise is simple, but you guys made this into such an awesome, fun, and beautiful series to watch, can't wait for another one, let's admit it we always hungry for more quality content from u guys
I just want to cry that poor Evo will never be the same after the flats!!
Neither will Ben's spine.
Looking forward to the next roadtrip series. These have made me wanting weekends so bad. Thanks! As always, top notch editing. Drone shots are immaculate. Camera work is awesome. This feels like those Top Gear special series.
28:17 Tesla: I need a fresh driver. Evo: :/
I live in Oregon and know exactly the roads you guys are driving. Idk feels awesome to know someone else is enjoying the roads and the views.
If you keep saying the Tesla’s overheating or cutting power Elon is going to sue you like he sued Jeremy Clarkson..
imagine suing someone for pointing out the truths of such a shit "car"
@@BladezAndrew elon cant take criticism it looks like PepeLaugh
Bladez Andrew
It’s not listed because it’s not in production yet.
There's a difference between coming to a track where you're car looks like this
www.thedrive.com/news/29882/modified-tesla-model-s-prototype-unofficially-laps-nurburgring-faster-than-porsche-taycan-report
to then failing so you come back like this
www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-plaid-widebody-rear-diffuser-side-vents/
to then failing again so you finally come back like
www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-nurburgring-update-crash-supercharger-spoiler/
then when you realize that the nurburgring is not you're thing your like sure let me just use full on racing slicks *scroll down
www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-3-fastest-lap-record-laguna-seca-video/
Even if they used only semi slicks for the nurburgring record it doesn't matter if all the other modifications are more than likely illegal for production cars to have. They only care about appearing better than the competition when they're not.... at anything
as far as motortrend and car and driver always getting better results.... again lmao what? www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a30874032/porsche-taycan-range-test-tesla-model-s/#:~:text=The%20results%20were%20far%20closer,222%20for%20the%20Model%20S.&text=The%20last%20Model%20S%20we,EPA%20figure%20at%20the%20time.
and bruh i really dont wanna link more just look into the fact that all their 0-60 times they never specified tires or 1 foot rollouts as well.
Ethan Lyde . Fair point. Not for me. I much prefer creature comforts especially for long road trips like this.
@@surfdude7575 i agree. I had a toyota celica without a muffler and the highway drone noise on it was way too much for me. So before i left on long trips, i would put it on, but when i was zooming around town, i would take it off again
I live in India.I dont have access to these car or can I afford one but I love your content so much. This channel is a gem.please bust your butts and make more of these awesome episodes.Cheers mate.
1:57 is one of the best viewpoints on that stretch of the coast. When it's a bit stormy, there is a water spout that sprays the entire parking lot
13:47 This is what every summer roadtrip that I've had looks like. I live in Marrakech and when I want to visit my family in Agadir it's always way above 122f
