I think that’s what most people don’t seem to get. You see CrossFit in a meltdown about the accusations of PEDs. People who enjoy Olympic weightlifting, bodybuilding or strong man do not give one solitary f*ck, we don’t even pretend. I want to see a man clean and press a small car!
I’d rather it was legal and safer.

You can strip medals and shift placings all you want - we can all watch Ilya sh*t wrecking the competition on that day in history and know who the true champion is. You’ll never make him out to be a villain to me. The moments he gave us in weightlifting history will continue to inspire people for years to come and for that reason alone he is a champion and legend.

On the one hand it is true, however I sometimes wonder how many "Ilyas" were made to not show their full potential. Like this Iranian guy in Sydney who was made to simulate injury in order for Pyrros Dimas to get another gold. Because of stories like this i stopped respecting any legends.

The only thing the sports-world learned from the Tour De France Doping scandals is… that actually cleaning up your sport is only hurting the reputation.
Tour De France is the cleanest sport now, but if you ask people what is the dirtiest sport everyone will say Tour De France.

Yes, Same for baseball MLB people still say this just like people think/say the entire cycling top federation, UCI or Union Cycliste Internationale is not clean when actually players in the MLB can face a lifetime black list where MLB black lists players from all other big sports leagues in USA/North Americ for using PEDS including some non steroidal pain killer drugs. Some players could switch to Football like a pitcher and play in smaller level even a backup in the NFL/starter depending on skill or play in the NBA, as few players in the MLB were dual sport in USA high school football or basketball sometimes even at the university level. Sure MLB may not be clean in rules for the sport by using grip enhancements but in terms of PED they have gone a long way from the Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire era.

immediate thought: Weightlifting. Its just "natural" to see these roided up dudes pretending to be natties lifting insane weights. All over the olympic games, peds are used (stuff to hyper focus you, give you more indurence etc.) and then a few years after a lot of athletes loose their medals. But no one cares for any of that. Tragically. Governments and athletes gain too much by winning to remove peds.

Every other athlete had a failed doping test, including Carl Lewis, who, it has been confirmed by testers from the IOC lab, had his positive tests from the 84' Olympics covered up. Some people might not have the appetite to get (ex) 200g of protein per day from food.

Although I can tolerate a lot of fiber (eat 50+g daily) , I find it impossible to eat 180-200g of protein from whole vegan sources. I've tried (I don't really like meat), I cannot do it.
