I feel like many people in the comments mistake "bigger women" with literally obese women. I don't think that's the extent of "bigger" he's talking about at all, rather he is talking about women that don't have those instagram model kinds of bodyfat percentages but those in the higher end of normal weight or maybe the very low end of overweight (measured by bmi). Women with those kinds of bodies can still be very healthy and fit and in my opinion also look very good.

When he is talking about higher BMIs having more sexual value, he isn't talking about women from my 600lb life guys. Those women are incredible outliers in every part of the world.
What he is talking about, I think, can be seen just recently in our culture, i remember in the mid to late 2000s that a huge thing for women was the thigh gap, being so skinny that your thighs dont touch each other while you are walking or you could see their ribcages. Girls were starving themselves on purpose to try and be what was seen as the most sexually attractive. These days, you dont see that as much, if at all. Models these days are much thicker and more curvatious than they were 15 - 20 years ago, and the economy has only gotten worse since then.
I am not saying it's an incredibly tight-knit theory, as it has only been researched for 20 years, and these kinds of theories take ages to lock down, but I can say that I have seen evidence to support it just in my own lifetime.

That’s doesn’t mean I’m attracted to obesity though. My girl is far from obese but she has bigger thighs, butt, and hips than she’d prefer. I absolutely love it. I find that extra cushion very feminine and it just feels good.
I’m not a big jacked body builder type dude but people give me compliments on my physique. I don’t know about bf% but nothing is soft and I have a 6 pack. A woman who looks like Gorlock the Destroyer...that's utterly disgusting (though I'm sure there are a few dudes out there who prefer women at that size). So I think the hypothesis generally holds up, but fails hard toward the extremes.
A woman with a BMI of 38 is what I would consider morbidly obese--at least at or near average height levels (BMI skews heavily against taller folks). At that level, one's body is having to compensate for its extra weight, and on a long enough time line will begin to suffer chronic health issues.

This is where it's useful to have a woman involved in the conversation. Sometimes men can't see the forest for the trees. When speaking of thick or heavy women, one must consider shape first. If a woman has a relatively smaller waist with wider hips and thighs, she's still desired by men. That's why Zulu men still want their women. They tend to be hourglass and pear shaped, even as they gain weight.
This is NOT true for rectangle and apple shaped women-the women built like SpongeBob SquarePants. Those women are not the preference, even amongst men who like heavier women. Just look at a catalogue or online shop and you'll see what shape is heavily favored even in plus-sized clothing.
