How wonderful to be able to make a piece of furniture rather than purchase it. Beautiful!
She makes it look so easy that anyone can do it! If I hadn't been watching for a long time, I'd never know that she's built up her excellent ability to build, from trial & error (also John's advice & that he never says "I'll just do that part") Mary's superb decor style & elegant taste & vision for a finished product, is what I don't have😢 I could learn how to get from A to Build but without the design, taste & vision my stuff would never look as good as hers!
I can pretty much guarantee my table would be a little crooked and the legs uneven. Therefore I will just sit back and enjoy this fabulous creation being made! It’s beautiful!!!!!

My grandmother always thrifted long before it was fashionable, and her eye for functional decor is something I find addictive and have carried on. I still have a couple of her drop-leaf side tables I've held onto and cherish. You did a great job creating and fulfilling your vision.

Good morning Mary, you have made my most favourable table design, those drop leaf sides just blow me away. There are the normal table sizes in that design, I just love them. The table is just too pretty for words. I love the bottom shelf you have made, we always need a little space for something and it works perfectly for coffee table books. WOW Mary, the dropleaf table came out beautifully!!!
I realized about 10 years ago that apparently I had a subconscious obsession with drop-leaf, gate-leg, butterfly - whatever we want to call them - tables when I noticed that every table in my home was that style…even the ones we used for nightstands! I think it came from the fact that I grew up in a home with a mid century modern drop-leaf dining room table from the 1950s. My biggest score was a walnut wood Drexel Heritage 1950s dining room set in perfect condition including the China cabinet, 6 chairs and a drop leaf table that extends to 10+ feet with the leaves up and 3 extensions inserted. $100 on Craigslist 12 years ago! I couldn’t get out of the seller’s house quick enough! Also, it was the only time I went to someone’s house to buy something.

Good job, Mary.I love that table.I have some of those Banister spendles out in my garage, but I couldn't make a table like that.I'm not a carpenter like you are.I'm 74 too so I couldn't do that.I used to do trash the treasures and glue things and fix things and make some beautiful things but can't do much of that anymore
