Yes, sometimes I also don't want to live on this planet any more :) I know this car will be an expensive mess out of warranty, but I love the geekiness of it. It's one of those cars I didn't expect much from, but I had much more fun filming this review, than the BMW i5 for example. And I'm already bored by the new M5, even though I've only seen it in a studio. Mercedes have done something interesting, and it won't sell 🤣
So I've missed the Kia Ceed GT manual by 1 year, the Stinger by 2 years and now it looks like the C63s V8 by maybe 5 years. It seems like all the good cars are vanishing before I can get to them. At least I got the regular i30 with 160ps I guess...
When I see all that expensive automotive complexity then I have the strange desire to get my old second hand 1964 VW 34 hp Beetle back. I could repair everything myself cheaply and feel proud of myself. I know it sounds silly but I enjoyed those simple cars, especially when I could tickle the engine to 145 km/h. Those were the days.
I think the technology is very interesting, but somehow it feels out of place in a AMG. In my mind a AMG should have a big hotrod engine rather than a reliance on tech. Obviously with emissions laws and the need to justify the F1 team this might be impossible, but I can still dream. I wouldn't mind this kind of powertrain in a next generation Nissan GTR though :)
That's the only C63 with that colour 👌. This C63 is pretty fast and quite capable it's just that V8's can replace I4 but not the other way round. If you can look past the V8 thing it is a fun car to drive.
The engineering of the ICE sounds very interesting, not so much the whole system. The sound, however, is a disaster, even a Mitsubishi Space Star engine sounds more exciting.

I guess I’m probably a weird car infotainment/instrumentation nerd 😆 Car general practicality and dashboard/infortainment - best chapters in car reviews for me. Like some creators mention 5 good and 5 annoying things about a new car model. Very good advice about car practicality etc. I think.
To make my production schedule more sustainable I have a non-car-review episode once a month, and I am planning on doing some more infotainment reviews in the coming months. Not sure, when I'll have the next Merc, but stay tuned.
Honestly the v8 was crap. From a 4.0 l v8 just 510 hp? Seriously? Emotion? It’s German it doesn’t need emotions. The real issues with this car is that weight and the price, the performance is outstanding, the brakes are stellar and looks good. This car shouldn’t weigh more than 1800 kg and the price should be lower than 80.000,00 € with all the extra options with the sw included. They (Mercedes) should take a visit to the BMW M3 production facility. And I don’t care about BMW’s because of the owners.

Amg should have used either 6banger, not the 4. Would have everyone raving about it vs the poor reception it's received.
