  • Here is the recipe for this simple dish. Feel free to use ANY herb/seasoning you want to change the flavor. I love to use chili powder, it gives the sweet potatoes such a great flavor. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below!
    Sweet Potato Bites:
    Ingredients:
    2-3 large sweet potatoes
    1/3 cup melted ghee butter
    Sea Salt
    Chili Powder
    Chopped fresh Rosemary
    Directions:
    Chop potatoes into bite size pieces. Place in a large bowl and pour in the butter. Toss well so all the potatoes are coated with ghee butter goodness. Spread potatoes out on a large cookie sheet. Sprinkle chili powder and salt over top. Bake on 350 for 15-20 minutes

    Good video man! I always had such a hard time cooking sweet potatoes. Although I found them undercooked after only 15 minutes. 20-25 min makes them perfect. Thanks!

    What is the serving size for this? How many grams should I be eating?

    • @mobro4
      @mobro4  2 года назад

      I usually eat a cup or more depending on my activity level. I don’t measure food so I can’t give a suggested gram amount. For most men, however, a cup is a good serving size

    Interesting. My dogs and I are on low carb diets and sweet potato’s are on the list of good food! This seems like a good way to cook them. I don’t eat herbs so will be leaving that off.
    IMO the best way to buy pink salt is to order 10-20 lb at a time from San Francisco Salt Co.

    1:10 Regarding the pink salt and its minerals:
    IIRC, those are just negligible trace amounts (along with actually unhealthy types of chemical compounds) that don't really make a difference scientifically. You're mostly paying extra for the pink color.

    I have a question. Can you actually make these without adding any additives to the sweet potatoes such as butter, oils and powders? Just plain sliced (without the skin) sweet potatoes in the oven? Should I then add some water underneath them or not. Please answer since this is the first time I'm cooking sweet potatoes in my life lol..

      Svetozar Slavilov I suppose you could technically bake them using a little water in the bottom of the pan but they will not turn out the same. If the water cooks off they will stick to the bottom of the pan, or the water could make them very mushy basically boiling them. Using clarified butter or another healthy oil prevents them from sticking to the the pan as well as ads a little flavor.

      Just wrap them in aluminium foil and put them in the oven. A pan is optional

    Just don't purchase your bulk supplies from Whole Foods Market; they sell wastage out front, not to mention their questionable corporate ethics and behaviour towards employees

      What happens when you do?

    • @mgs85
      @mgs85 4 года назад

      Mark Waggener you can get leeching, meaning the food your cooking is absorbing aluminum. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, it’s high temperatures and long cooking times that typically cause leeching. Using aluminum in a recipe like this isn’t going to give you any problems.
